For the record, Peggy Stewart started at Republic after her divorce from Don "Red" Barry in 1944/ She was in three Western series simultaneously: Sunset Carson, Allen Lane and the Red Ryder series with Bill Elliott.
Her voice, pep, and personality is still the same after all these years. And she still has those wide movie star shoulders. I remember her as the girl who rode horses; many of the girls didn't.
Peggy Stewart, heroine to Sunset Carson, Bill Elliott and Allan Lane, has been a guest at several Western film conventions where she brings to life the golden days of the B western at Republic Pictures. While this interview was apparently shot back in the eighties when Sunset Carson had his TV show, Ms Stewart still keeps active in doing character roles in television.
