@David8024667 I know many pastors, evangelists, preachers, etc, (especially growing up with my dad evangelizing and now pastoring, and myself now starting to preach) that are very prophetic and can see stuff (through the Holy Ghost) in people lives that nobody ever told him. @MrJLW100 There was some really bad stuff going on there. The Pastor was more like a Dictator than a Pastor. He tried to FORCE people into living by HIS rules (holiness standards). I had a friend who went to a G-RATED DISNEY MOVIE with another friend of his (trying to win him over to God and get him to go to Church with him. The guy said he would go IF he went to a movie with him) and someone SAW him at the movie, told the Pastor, and this guy was kicked out of everything (choir, etc., ).
@MrJLW100 And, what about the guy who SAW him at the movies? Did he get punished? I'm not sure if he did or not. But, to punish this guy who was ONLY trying to get him to go to Church with him by going to the movie with him, that's wrong (in my opinion). The Pastor would "set people down" if you did ANYTHING wrong. And, EVERYTHING was wrong in the Pastor's eyes. But, if his own Daughters did something "wrong," it was excused somehow and they were not "set down" from involvement in activities

He said, "I'm only going 2 give u 1 MORE CHANCE 2 get your butt up here." And, I didn't go up. He then said, "Goodbye, soul, goodbye." Then, said I would split hell in half

@MrJLW100 The Church I went to (which was UPC) did nothing but talk about hell and the everlasting FIRES of hell. They would say things such as, "Hey, folks, if you are scared of snakes, there will be snakes in your own PERSONAL hell. If you are scared of rats, there will be rats in your hellish experience." So, they would tell us that hell would be basically personalized for us and that hell would be a "living nightmare" but would last for eternity (and not something you could wake up from).
@MrJLW100 I had a friend who went to Church with me. And, during the Church service, they had a tongues of interpretation. And, the interpretation was something like this: "There is one who is here. And, he has not heeded unto my voice. I AM DONE WITH HIM." And, then, after the interpretation, everybody started crying, then wailing really hard. It was SCARY!!!! The next thing I knew, the friend I had with me said that he thought the message was for HIM. He got hit by a car 3 days later and DIED.
@MrJLW100 And, the guy who went with me was scared but said he couldn't live by all the rules and regulations that the Church had on it's people ("holiness standards"). And, there were a LOT of "holiness standards" in this Church. We couldn't even go to certain restaurants or go bowling because they might have a bar in them. We couldn't go swimming (unless it was with the same sex). Of course, if you're gay, that's not a problem. But, you get my point, I'm sure.
@MrJLW100 The guy got hit by a car and it was so bad that they had to have a closed casket. And, one of the ladies who attended Church there told me that "the blood of his' soul was on MY hands" as I didn't "do enough to get him saved." And, therefore, it was basically MY fault that he didn't get saved (according to her). And, as a kid, that REALLY horrified me (and had nightmares for years after that, thinking I was responsible for sending someone 2 HELL). What a horrible thing to say to a kid
@MrJLW100 I wouldn't mind going to a Church like the one you went to. Where they don't TRY to scare people and where they don't talk about HELL all the time. Money was a big issue in my Church as well. The Pastor would go on elaborate vacations. Spent vast amts. of money to refurbish and remodel his' house. Had extremely nice cars & wore probably $1,000 suits (or more). But, couldn't help his' own Church members when they needed help of any kind. He would tell people to go to Catholic Charities

The reason that most Christians are Republicans or more correctly, Conservatives, is because they have beliefs that are based on biblical principles. The Liberal mindset is a platform built on principles that are in direct conflict with the WORD OF GOD (The Bible). Promiscuity, divorce, illegitimacy, homosexuality, abortion on demand, these are things that are not taken lightly by our Creator and Author of our Salvation.

@ThePhnxman1 The Bible is FULL of errors. It speaks of the "four CORNERS of the Earth" (when we know that the Earth is NOT flat). And, the Early Church Fathers USED to believe that the Earth WAS flat because the Bible said this. Then, they later added a verse which says, "God sits upon the CIRCLE of the Earth" (to make it APPEAR that the Bible knew all along that the Earth was round). @David8024667 - I judge the scriptures, whether the words from our mouth is of God. The scriptures state that only the RIGHTEOUS can condemn a man. In other words, if a man is not in right standing with God, he is judged a false witness.
So our understanding is that he that misapplies scriptures is without standing IN THAT REGARD. We do not judge the person, but the words of his own mouth judge him.
Jesus is the one who said, "Judge righteous judgment." He is never wrong!

@ThePhnxman1 The Bible does NOT condemn homosexuality. It condemns male cultic prostitution, male gang rape (as in Sodom and Gomorrah case), but not homosexuality, in and of itself. The Lev. verse where it says that "a man shall not lie with a man as he would with a woman" and then goes on to say that it is "an abomination" was written to the LEVITES (not us). The problem is that the UPC "oneness" sect holds that believers in the Godhead and the complexity of God and those who have not been baptized in the "name" of Jesus are not truly saved and redeemed for eternity by Jesus. Its amazing how God works.

@MrJLW100 There was some really bad stuff going on there. The Pastor was more like a Dictator than a Pastor. He tried to FORCE people into living by HIS rules (holiness standards). I had a friend who went to a G-RATED DISNEY MOVIE with another friend of his (trying to win him over to God and get him to go to Church with him. The guy said he would go IF he went to a movie with him) and someone SAW him at the movie, told the Pastor, and this guy was kicked out of everything (choir, etc., ).

They would say things such as, "Hey, folks, if you are scared of snakes, there will be snakes in your own PERSONAL hell. If you are scared of rats, there will be rats in your hellish experience." So, they would tell us that hell would be basically personalized for us and that hell would be a "living nightmare" but would last for eternity (and not something you could wake up from).

@MrJLW100 I had a friend who went to Church with me. And, during the Church service, they had a tongues of interpretation. And, the interpretation was something like this: "There is one who is here. And, he has not heeded unto my voice. I AM DONE WITH HIM." And, then, after the interpretation, everybody started crying, then wailing really hard. It was SCARY!!!! The next thing I knew, the friend I had with me said that he thought the message was for HIM. He got hit by a car 3 days later and DIED.

And, one of the ladies who attended Church there told me that "the blood of his' soul was on MY hands" as I didn't "do enough to get him saved." And, therefore, it was basically MY fault that he didn't get saved (according to her). And, as a kid, that REALLY horrified me (and had nightmares for years after that, thinking I was responsible for sending someone 2 HELL). What a horrible thing to say to a kid

Money was a big issue in my Church as well. The Pastor would go on elaborate vacations. Spent vast amts. of money to refurbish and remodel his' house. Had extremely nice cars & wore probably $1,000 suits (or more). But, couldn't help his' own Church members when they needed help of any kind. He would tell people to go to Catholic Charities

The reason that most Christians are Republicans or more correctly, Conservatives, is because they have beliefs that are based on biblical principles. The Liberal mindset is a platform built on principles that are in direct conflict with the WORD OF GOD (The Bible). Promiscuity, divorce, illegitimacy, homosexuality, abortion on demand, these are things that are not taken lightly by our Creator and Author of our Salvation.
Whether you see a need for salvation or not is debatable.

@David8024667 - I judge the scriptures, whether the words from our mouth is of God. The scriptures state that only the RIGHTEOUS can condemn a man. In other words, if a man is not in right standing with God, he is judged a false witness.
So our understanding is that he that misapplies scriptures is without standing IN THAT REGARD. We do not judge the person, but the words of his own mouth judge him.

But, you know what? He HAS spoke at several DIFFERENT Churches. And, there are THOUSANDS (or possibly even MILLIONS) of different denominations. @paulbortolazzo Well tell me a few places in the bible where it talks about the trinity, I already have heard the Mathew 28 verse and if you read it carefully, it says in the NAME of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, NOT NAMES. The father, son, and Holy Spirit are just a few of the thousands of TITLES in the bible that describe God who's name is Jesus. Just like some of my titles are son, student, brother, friend, etc.

If I was to build a house, I'd would pour ONE slab, not three slabs, because the three peices of slab will move around and the structure will fall and/or be distorted. Keep in mind, Paul had to double back to most of those established churches afterwards to correct things that they began doing that was in error. Great message from Ronald Reagan too bad we can't go back to the Bible in our government and decision making. And...if you consider UPCI a cult then take a closer look at other denominations (like Catholicism) and tell me how that isn't a cult. So many rituals and traditions not in the Bible, anyone visiting the church would wonder why they do all the things they do. So glad for a church that believes and lives the Bible! Check it out for yourself before you judge.

yes, true but I think you are missing the source of the discord. The problem is that the UPC "oneness" sect holds that believers in the Godhead and the complexity of God and those who have not been baptized in the "name" of Jesus are not truly saved and redeemed for eternity by Jesus. It is because of this assertion and the willful rejection of salvation by faith solely that this sect is a CULT.

@shieldsff If you disagree with the fact that you need to be baptized in Jesus' name...u best read Acts very slowly with a Strong's concordance by your side...Acts 2:38, Acts 19..people were "re-baptized" because they were only baptized by repentance...you see that is how important it is to do it right! Do it right or get re-baptized the right way! It's not made up my friend...Read it for your self...Matthew talks about the "name" of the father, son, and Holy Ghost...not NAMES, with an S..LOL!

As U are fond of quoting verses U may wish to note that reading verses in isolation & out of context is no reputable way to understand what it is being conveyed (otherwise anyone could infer any meaning arbitrarily). Also note, Apostle Paul says there is One Gospel & anyone w/a false gospel is anathema. Aside from Ur studying greek grammar rules (e.g.Sharp's rules) I can only pray 4 U.

Mr. I'm in a cult, I deny biblical scripture, I believe in a works salvation, and that speaking in tongues proves I'm saved(please show me that one is scripture), and I can lose my salvation because thats what my cult teacher(satan) taught me even though God promised me eternal life, and I like contradicting myself because there is no truth in me. I agree with kookyinc, i know someone who knew President Ronald Reagan personally and he said that the president got through his everyday life while in office because he prayed every morning before starting his day. That is purely awesome
