What a weekend it was - one to remember. Ace Frehley played better than Thayer :-P KISS put on the best show i've ever seen at a rock gig/festival. Eric was on fire, but it took paul half-hour or so to warm up!

the only reason the filmed 07 was because Iron Maiden and I think Lamb of God were using footage from their set to put onto a DVD, so they paid the organisers to record them, with money leftover to record other bands.

Which no band of 2008 did.

that may not be the exact reason but its something along those lines

In previous years Channel 4 has shown 1 long shows of highlights from the festival giving the organisers funding to do the live web casts back in 2007. In 2008 Channel 4 decided the lineup wasn't upto scratch and decided not to bother doing anything last year. Which obviously meant a drop in funding.

I'm sure there are recordings of everything filmed over last year but I would imagine Live Nation and the bands have copyright on all footage.

I will say, these were the stand out performance of Download easily. There were better bands musically, but for pure mind blowing entertainment, they were fantastic.
