Hmmm... I thought that in a debate both sides were presented. I only see the side of this debate that says, "We must pass this legislation." Maybe that's why our congressional reps are so upset -- they don't *get it* about debate.
I have to totally agree with Socksbike, now this is true debate. I have to add my health horror story, I had kidney stones and went to the hospital well the bill is split up in 3 parts. And I didn't have health insurance at that time, all they did was give a shot of morphine and scan, an doctor came to seen me. Plus I took a short nap from the morphine, the bill came over five thousand dollars. I only paid 2 of the 3 it has kill my credit I will not pay the rest. Hope some thing is done soon.
SO she is saying medicare helped her, great... why put us all in such a plan if we are happy. Heck, the washington dweebs even voted against going on the same plan they want to put us in... not good enough for them I guess...
@NYredwhiteandblue actually Ms. Shouse, may she rest in peace, was still limited by Medicare because a person with breast cancer is not considered a "disabled" person, which means that her services were not completely covered. She died earlier this year. So she's really not that happy. Like Ms. Shouse, there are a lot of people in the same predicament.
I dont prefer a corporation. I prefer a choice. I work hard and pay my insurance. Thats a privilege I earn by working hard.... and I dont want to work hard to pay your insurance.... thats your job....
The choice to drop people based on pre-existing conditions. The healthcare bill also makes it illegal to drop coverage and discriminate based on pre-existing conditions.
I dont trust Obamas governtment with my security... In less than 6 months he has managed to be a paper tiger with Iran, North Korea and cut our defense budget dreasically. I trust the citizens that volunteer for our armed services with that job thank you. The tax cheats Obama has appointed are in over their heads. This administration is bankrupting this country and the american people are seeing through it. Being patriotic has nothing to do with loving big government.
Have you ever tried to see a doctor at the VA? Obviously not. And Medicare and Social security are in such good shape I can see why you are proud of them. And I can see you have not read the bill at all.... 'Medicare will be cut by billions to help pay for this.... show me a country where this has worked and dont say Canada because I know first had that they are pissed about the way their country treats them. PS. In the bill all decisions have to be approved by the health and human srvc dept.
if the government cant run healthcare for the vets right why should we trust them with everyone's health? I don't want a government employee deciding if and when I get my health care... I dont trust any politician enough to give them that power... So this independent is one chanting NO TO OBAMACARE!!!! By the way.. my wife is from Canada. She had to wait 1 year to get her tonsils out... f that....
Yes, healthcare reform is necessary, but it sounds to me that you believe that there is a free lunch. How are you going to pay for this.
Oh wait, tonight in the press conference we heard that the savings will come from greedy doctors who won't be allowed to take out your child's tonsils. How many hundreds of billions do you think that will save? How many children will suffer needlessly?
