This siren cost 160 with shipping I bought one I'm going to do a review and installation on it in a couple of days and let you guys know wat I think ;)
@ArmyRescue2 yes, this is LEGAL in my state, state laws do very. its LEGAL here because the ownership of all equipment is LEGAL, and because the lights are clear when off, but red or blue lenses would be ILLEGAL to operate on public roadway even when off, sirens are legal as well. and it is legal to operate on private land such as car shows, however the use of the equipment on a public roadway would be ILLEGAL. It is just like a gun, legal to own, but the use is what may be illegal.
Nice cheap Chinese Siren. If you wanted to impersonate someone I would at least buy the high quality stuff, Oh well. I guess its a good thing you save your money cause eventually you will lose your Chinese knockoff lights and sirens.
Very nice! Simple device. Thats all you need. I've seen these vids with custom machines that have so many buttons and sound demo's on it, you would never be able to use all the different possibilities.
@TheDirector17 Most cops drive in government owned police vehicle however there are a few counties which will give a police officer an allowance to outfit their own vehicle, then they will also get paid for the mileage they drive also.
hey ive been looking for a system like this to put into my truck where it is siren with built in pa...how much did this all cost and where can i find it at???
actually with all the new technologies out, consoles are on the way out, leaves more room inside. Now most lights are combined with sirens controller in a one small 3inx5in control panel only 1 in thick usually screwed to the dash nest to the heater controls. just need the radio and labtop now, leaves room for shotgun, and more elbow room
@pcar00 how does that work, putting the controller in the trunk? how would you control the lights and sirens if you're driving, while it's in the trunk?
Here in Belgium, the police generally use a small handheld controller (for example: Federal Signal Vama BCT500 controller for the ICS2010 siren), mounted near the heater.
How come the police in the US keep working with classic full size siren "boxes" for so long?
Yes, that is dangerous, partially because people don't pay one bit of attention while driving. Sirens don't mean everyone will stop or even start paying attention. I just don't understand how deaf and blind people can drive down the street. I mean they don't get out of your way with the siren blasting and the lights going.
Like I said, it is always dangerous. But my experiences have all taught me about the people I work around and it is easy to judge what they will do. The people who don't get out of the way are either surprised or they don't know what to do. Thats why you always need to be prepared for the worst at all times, more so when rolling code 3. When Code 3 Cover is called your no help to anyone if you crash before you even get there.
The new IR device helps us at intersections a lot when we want to be more confident we wont hit anyone. That is why our car sirens blast at over 140 db and are covered with very bright and noticeable lights. They are marked with the big SHERIFF or POLICE decals on it and painted either all black, all white or the typical black & white combo. To make it easy to distinguish between the "public" and the "law enforcement".

some even just have a handheld remote control for lights and sirens so you can mount the controller anywhere like the trunk so save room inside!!!

Rolling Code 3 down city streets, blasting the air horn at every intersection is a blast, but its always dangerous.
