  • i think the best way to use this in actual situations, like, going inside a random building, they will need a satelite to first scan the building, and make like a 3D generated "map" of the house, showing its paths and stuff, and then send these fellas to get to a certain point by using that mapping system

  • Can this quadrotor evade bullets?

  • IM FREEKING SCARED SHITLESS

  • God job, just don't let skynet get it's hands on them:)

  • funny, they are nothing without the red coder.

  • I think this is a SCAM. I bet those red lights are infra red illuminators and the window frames in previous video and the hoops in this video all have little infrared reflectors on it, and there's a scanner in the room that tracks where everything is and sends copter through the centre.

These are not real world examples. This only works in a testing lab.

  • @TheDmel how exactly did you get the robot to recover like that after you threw it into the air at the beginning ?

  • @josh3545 It probably uses a gyro or three to determine where up and down is, and the rotors just alternate power to stabilize.

like to bottom pair of rotors(assuming it's in a completely vertical position) would spin faster than the top rotors, so the top would sag, and the bottom will start rising.

after a certain time, all 4 rotors would equalize to keep the copter level.

  • skynet Fights back

  • Time to call Freeman. We're in need of his crowbar.

  • ...FEAR?.... You pussie´s!...

  • _VERY_ impressive. So, how long until we can expect navigation like that with fewer/no external viewpoints?

  • fuck shit getdown!! manhack!!!

  • They're flooding the underground stations with manhacks.

  • Destroy it before it becomes aware

  • dear god... What Have You Done?!?!!

  • So I assume you guys are planning to release these to the public market this year on December 21st?

  • IT TRIES TO ATTACCK THE MAN WITH THE HOOP AT 0:55

  • @FattyZee haha, thats right ... thats why the guy lets go of the hoop

  • spraying some abrasive stuff could help

  • Shut up and take my money!

  • Manhacks anyone?

  • And so skynet begins

  • The net is there to prevent them from escaping!

  • To think how smart these guys are!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:26 WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • If you really want to impress us... DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • @Ferreal92 They show that in the other video

  • Why are everybody afraid god damn it! They still need some cameras set up to se a 3d landscape shown in this video. They have set that up right outside the net. It's not like they can navigate without them around, not yet! :P

  • @dacke93 Exactly. Not /yet/. : )

  • This is our future. We will soon be unimaginable, and have amazing power to control anything. This is the next step into flying cars, spaceships that can go to other galaxy's and more to come. Just think of what we just discovered with these smart technology robots with perfect flight pattern.

  • ok impressive skills, but its like kung fu, you look, and then you take action.?? or WHAT tfc Y do

  • OMG, this is awesome, I am afraid too!!! LOL

  • I welcome our quadrotor overlords.

  • imagine those with knifes attached to them: airknifes

  • No wonder this is so cool. Kumar is on it.

  • Get into da choppa!

  • This could drive a cat nuts.

  • That buzzing noise will be the sound of terror and fear in the future

  • @derrickoz That buzzing would be the sound that my pizza delivery just came to my home :D. Stop saying stupid stuff.

  • I see these used in the army

  • this is amazing

  • So what are yall planning on using these for?

  • Society won't have a chance against these...

Imagine...an armed swarm of bees, that can not only track and follow your every move, but also be used to attack...and deliver almost any kind of ordinance at will...

Combined with high tech cameras, computers, and the use of onboard iris scanners, this would provide the ultimate in surveillance...not to mention crowd control.

If they could ever develop a "silent mode" you wouldn't even hear them coming...........

  • @MnktoDave not only that but now how will we cheat on our girlfriends

  • The question is how do we shut sky net down.

  • mount a gun on one of those, being hacked apart by mini-helicopter blades sounds far more painful.

  • SKYNET!

  • how do we know someones not just controlling it?

  • :27 derp LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • 0:32 LOOK AT ME I'M TROLLING AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME

  • 0:33 lol look at the chair damage.

  • 0:26 WEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • Use these to create a digital wire-frame scan of a building's inside.

  • they are in auto-mode? or someone is controlling by remote control these little fellas

  • i like

  • The net is there in case they gain sentience an and try to destroy the human race.

  • Can anyone say MAN HACK!!!!! HL2...

  • this reminds me that flying sentries or whatever they are, from Half-Life. A pleasure to smash'em down with a crowbar.

  • ooh- angry helicopter robot

  • How long before someone turns this thing into a weapon. Skynet anyone???

  • is it all done in code or u need some special electronics too ?

  • X-wing fighter irl!

  • Just imagine being able to drop a shit load of these into the mountains of Afghanistan. If they had a good power supply and you loaded them with explosives and a way to id people. That would be every generals wet dream. :-D

  • @powerone1 Of course, they are cheap enough that you'll probably see these in IEDs coming back the other way, especially if the recent Iranian RQ170 drone capture is any indication.

  • what are the sensors ??

  • MAN HACKS!

  • Am the only one who imagines guided munitions for use in an urban battlefield based on this technology?

  • reminds me of the scouts on terminator salvation, one step closer to robot revolution.

  • You guys are so cool! :)

  • MY GOD

  • These should be programmed to avoid bullets and to have a way to holographically project a person.

  • 1:05 touched Didn't count.

  • someone should really shut these guys down before someone gets hurt.

  • @mahchymk93 go sleep ur bed is waiting

  • @1mpasidu You're right! I should go to bed because you're mom is waiting.

  • @mahchymk93 shut the fuck up bitch

  • @1mpasidu That's exactly what I told your mom to do while fucking her brains out!

  • @mahchymk93 bhuwahahahha

thats what i told ur mom son of a bitch

  • @1mpasidu Dude, you really suck at comebacks... and by that I don't mean what your mom asked me to do, cum on her back.

  • Dear Santa...

  • Very skilled pilot flying a quad.. Awesome! :)

  • @Gallaway400 It's not really piloted, these quadrotors are basically flying robots. The pilot's control inputs only tell it where to go. The actual work of keeping it stable and in the air is handled by an onboard computer.

  • 좋녀

  • 挺好的 哈哈

  • if a public company buys this, I want some stock

  • I'm guessing they only achieve such accuracy because all the positional information comes from the cameras and sensors mounted along the walls. It's very impressive, but assuming the above then they are only autonomous within the confines of the testing room.

  • which will be it purpose?

  • @jedipeludo Killing everyone.

  • 0:26 I started giggling xD Awesome tech guys.

  • Cool, but I don't think any of the obstacle detecting hardware is on the quads themselves. I think they rely on multiple 3D cameras in the room, which obviously isn't practical for real applications.

  • Now thats what I'm talking about... The first shot in the beginning: it goes from hover to zip zip and back to hover just like a yellow jacket. They finally done it boys. Very large, angry, quick insects. They sound angry too with the 4 rotors changing rpm and pitch all at once. Battery life? Range? Quiet mode? This says autonomous but c'mon, for real? Were through. Lawn mowers and weed eaters are done.

  • Every thing in the room looks as though its been chewed by weed eaters.

  • "When are you going to let us out of this room?"

  • ive had dreams about things just like this (only quieter) , for years.

it always feels like the future, and they always feel ominous. lol

I dont like this, "cool" as it is. lol

  • Holy crap. I'd hate to have one of those chasing me. How long can they go on the batteries in there?

  • @TheSqeeek imagine 50 of the nano rotors chasing you ^_^. im preparing for war!

  • u should be safe if ur not wearing a turban

  • geez how fast are you sampling? Those rotors seem to generate a ridic amount of torque.

  • In slow motion, it sounds like a full-sized aircraft! I'd love to see these babies scaled-up.

  • Skynet... We give up. I will make a good pet....

  • How scared does that guy look?

    *Throws robot*

    "Argh don't kill me!"

  • WoooooooooW, Really wonderful but does it work alone or by a remote control

  • When will this be capable without the room full of cameras?

  • I somewhat shocked the project lead in this study or program is allowing the individuals to interact with the quads without safety glasses. Hyper irresponsible and begging for a massive law suit if someone loses an eye from a prop strike.

  • yes i can but dont think i would pay 1,000,000 for two i dont have it like that ill pay 50,000 for one no more let talk off line let me see it face to face and maybe

  • Sounds like the Sentinels from The Matrix...

  • @uterallindenbaum ....lmfao .... death to america ? trolol

  • OMFG WHERE CAN I BUY ONE OF THESE!

  • i need 2 asap dont care about the cost get back

  • @jamrock10031 Give me $100K in advance, and $500,000 for each. Can you afford that?

  • 5 people gotta find john connor

  • I could see the idea about the controller to recover from extreme initial conditions. In eg. rescue mission and what not you drive along a road and deploy drone by throwing them out of the car window, and they'll revover and start searching. Which means you can deploy drones in a large area in the least amount of time.

  • Holy shit it's a real life manhack!

  • @uterallindenbaum could make them even smaller and carry an auto syringe and land on peoples backs and inject them with acid.. ;) *tinfoil hat!*

  • @uterallindenbaum

No. Can't fly anywhere near high enough. Can't control accurately enough in high winds. Definitely can't carry a bomb up with it.

  • @BobTheElder 1-2mm high velocity AP or a small rocket

search quadrotor construction if you think they can't carry loads.

  • HAAAAAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • Wow - this is really cool.

  • Comment removed

  • reminds me of a swarm of angry bees *cue Flight of the Bumble Bees!*

  • I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!

  • replace the rotors with blades = flying ninja

  • More of a scout or recon thingy. But can see lots of different uses.. nothing to be afraid of. I like.

  • I have to get one.

  • You guys are so awesome! Great work.

  • We created a fully autonomous UAV that will kill you dead.

  • can i have one?!?!?

  • awh shit, next come a time traveling robo arnald... damn it hasn't anyone learned anything from those documentrys?!?! this is serious stuff, next thing ya know some dudes gona ask if we want red pills or blue pills!

  • In WW2 the sound of Stuka's was enough to make people crap themselves. In the future, that will be the sound of quadrotors.

  • The thrown ring was impressive.

  • A vehicle would be needed to control them.. A brain bus if you will.

  • That is really impressive. What kind of sensors does it use?

  • what are those red lightes used for ?

  • Crazy stuff..very inspiring ! im working on autonomous navigation with A.R Drone and now i want to change my project and work on this! great work guys !

  • how do we know that it is not three thousand first time try and succeed, cached on the video camera which is all time on but sown for us just a bit of all? Which is just accident? I don’t know that, do you? if I would see 10 times succeeded I would be convinced :OT

  • Alright, i guess it's time to get a new crowbar!

  • this is the drone from halflife 2

  • This is cool but pretty poor aswell because they just invented a flying object well done.

  • @jlawton22 The significance of those isn't that its a flying object.... its that its a ridiculously maneuverable object that can seemingly maneuver through houses and really small crevasses using only computer software. Really I had to tell you that.?

  • make this 100 times bigger, strap machine guns and rocket launchers on it

    say good bye to terrorists

  • @ipullthepork

    More like goodbye everyone.

  • Only if we make it sentient. If not, it'd be goodbye to everyone except for those who owns these. I call dibbs.

  • @ipullthepork

make this 100 times small, strap cameras to it.

    say good bye to freedom

  • @MUGGS077 I'm afraid freedom has long traveled past the horizon.

  • so we named it skynet.

  • reminds me of the world cup..

  • Hey, what kind of sensors are you using to detect the motion of the hoop? Is that done with a camera?

  • worker bees!!

  • MANHACKS!!

  • @Corgblam

Manhacks were the first things I thought of too.

  • @Corgblam epic HL2 referrence

  • Skynet!!!!!! Holy crap that was amazing.

  • you should charge huge money for tickets to a live show.

  • ANYONE WHO IS AN ENGINEER IS JIZZING THEIR PANTS RIGHT NOW

  • @sirlancelot88 GOTTA MOVE THAT GEAR UP!

    *It flies*

    ALL RIGHTY THEN!

  • This is such a cool dynamic example of physical computing! It makes my nipples go all hard. But really, congratulations this is an incredible example of sophisticated use of harware and software in an eliquent singulairity. Your my (collective) hero!

  • the best!

  • I saw these things in Half Life 2.

  • Terminator Salvation scouts

  • Can you "beginnings of Skynet"?

  • God dammit, do you guys want a robot revolution to happen? I like my non-apocalyptic world, thank you very much.

  • im loading my shotgun now, or at least a bucket of water

  • I am SKYNET

  • Not the best video to absentmindedly click on while wearing headphones.... I thought an angry nest of bees had suddenly invaded my apartment.

  • Manhack?

  • 0:58 - It looks like it's about to come after the guy holding the hoop. Hilarious!
