Review of the Canon EOS 60D

iv been using canon for awhile now ..everything from the 40d to 1d and i just got the 60d for an amazing price off a guy on craigslist. I love this camera, my buddy has it and a 7d and the 60d is great. I recommend this camera to any video people.

@drawab1 this uses the same sensor as the 7d and t2i. So in all auto this takes the same picture as the 7d, given the 7d has dual processors but picture quality should be the same....if im not mistaken

Tried the A77. EVF is definitely better than previous SLT models. But still suffer from the dragging effect when you pan it. Body feels light, can't imagine the balance if you mount a heavy glass. Having tried 60D and D7000. The a77 lacks some useful buttons on the body. Like, metering button and manually selecting AF points had to go thru the menu to set, which is time consuming and pain in the arse.

That's not correct - one can select AF points easily using joystick. AF need to be in Local mode.

It's amazing that I keep hearing about the poor responsiveness of the buttons on the 60D. You would think after shelling out almost 1k canon would give you f*@king decent buttons. I swear if I wasn't locked into the system with USM lenses from over a decade ago I would abandon canon in an instant.

I bought this camera about 6 weeks ago. I am new to digital photography but while I was surveying for the buy I realized that Canon has not put new research into the camera. They have probably just amalgamated the rebel (t2i) and the pro (7D) lines for market reasons. Works for me though !

How is the dynamic range performance btw? From my little (newbie) experience I find the cam to be restrictive on the range in lower light. Any takes?

What is longest clip you shoot continuously at 720p 60fps assuming the memeory card your using is big enuf for the longest clip possible at those settings.

I thought it had 19 focus points like the 7D.....I guess not. I am looking at the Canon site now......only 9. The 7D has 19 (all cross type) I'll keep my 7D. This camera is not worth it. Spend the extra $ and go 7D. I DO wish the 7D had a swivel screen. Others hate them. I wish we had a choice in LCDs. Canon, that a good idea. Give us a choice.

@spyduderaj I think the 15-85mm is a standard kit lens and is very good. The old 17-85 it replaces isn't as sharp and isn't really good enough for 18MP from what I hear.
