Nokia N82 is favourite so far. But Samsung INNOV8 and i7110 are both contenders..... And Nokia E90, N95 and N85 and N79 and..... are all VERY close.....
Now if the iPhone had copy and paste and a better camera......
Hi, nice show,I've got a question about this phone. Before I bought it, I had a Samsung U600 and the slider was pretty solid.Howewer on this one(N95 8gb) it seems loose, and I'm afraid it won't hold(((
wow!! i was just asking, dont have to be rude. i'll do my homework once i buy and have this phone in my hand, which well be pretty soon, more like 2marro.
Bought a w960i but is was such a disapointment I sent it back for this.
Sony have made the walkman on that thing rubbish compared to the other w and k series they do..there were 5 second gaps between tracks and the euro model is too quite to use in public places.
Hey just wondering could you please take a picture while moving the camera around? I want to know if it comes with an Image stabilizer, SE K850i can take clear photos while shaking the phone. Thanks! :D
Just to say this is the first Smartphones Show I've seen, and its very well done. Definitely looking forward to the next episode E90 vs TyTN II showdown. I moved from my well loved E61 to my current MDA Vario III (HTC Kaiser/P4550/TyTN II) a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to hear your opinion.
I'm really hoping for an unbiased view even if you are sponsored by Symbian!
Btw: Is the N95 8GB's GPS reception improved over the poor N95 v1 performance? How does it compare to your E90?
You're joking, right? Totally different devices for different people. I'll be comparing the TyTN II to the Nokia E90 very soon in the Smartphones Show.
thank for the review.. i sold my regular n95 3 weeks ago for so i can buy this 8gb version. but it concerns me when i read that i can't install applications and store SMS/MMS in the 8GB flash memory? and that n95 8gb only have 100MB of internal memory instead of 160MB of the "regular" N95. Is this true?
What do you mean "no apps can be inmstalled"? Of course you can install apps onto the N95 8GB... That's half the reason it has a massive 8GB on-board storage.
All symbian 60 apps work on the 8GB N85... I have loads lol!
Hi Steve, ta for the reviews... My only worry with the the N95 8gb is text entry - without touch screen or qwerty is it a painstaking process using the PDA functions?
It's a long time since I've owned a Nokia - and the T9 used to be lightning fast...
Oh, and by the way everyone, I've had a few emails in about recent N95 focus - don't worry, now that the 8GB model is 'done', I'll return to wider pastures for shows 46 and onwards.
can you use a bluetooth keyboard while talking on the phone with a bluetooth heaset and also can you talk on it while the GPS is working? please reply! this will be the deciding factor in my purchase
steve after all this smartphones shows and all the phones you have tested, which one do you like the most?

wakster44 4 years ago
Of course. Any video files encoded with a little care will work fine.

NO, apps can be installed on either disk. And internal flash memory is the same as on the original N95.

Err.... are you sure you're not confusing what I said about the iPhone?
stevelitchfield 4 years ago
If you were talking about the iPhone, then obviously its my mistake... The YouTube commenting system is messy to say the least...
So to reiterate; you can upload S60 apps to the N95 8GB - obviously.
TBH, I thought yo could with the iPhone too..
thedynamix 4 years ago
Yep, standard S60 etc. The iPhone only lets you run mini-apps within the Web browser.
stevelitchfield 4 years ago
Yes, it's as slow as on any other phone. Part of the reason why I mainly use the E90 day to day 8-)
stevelitchfield 4 years ago
so cani download flash 3 on my qtek 8300 is it downloadble or just firmware update, and n95 8gb does it have flash lite 3?
hallal55 4 years ago
Doubtless FL3 will make its way onto WinMob eventually.... N95 8GB doesn't have FL3 yet, but it should arrive within a few months.
stevelitchfield 4 years ago

and for the n95 8gb does it have full flash so you can go on youtube videos and myspace vidoes/songs or will they release flash for that? THANKS!
hallal55 4 years ago
Yes, Flash Lite 3 supports Flash video. It will doubtless appear in a firmware update or addon patch....
stevelitchfield 4 years ago
so does that mean i can download it on my imate sp5m or qtek 8300 or n95 lets say, will it be downloadble or is it only firmware upgrades?
thanks :D
