Everyone gave this game really bad reviews saying it was boring and repetative, i agree repetative in the mines of Moria but it was an awesome game, Helms Deep was hard, in fact i think im gonna play it again, afterall its backwards compatible with 360 :D
Funny thing when I played this game, I focused on Grima first since my guide said he dies fastest, but after I killed him I found I could killed the Uruks in one hit with Loud-Water fury.
I don't even get whey Grima is even a boss in this game.
I always use everyone in boss battles to ensure that you get maximum XP.
You have a similar strategy to me, though I cast Fear on the two uruks, then take Grima out after a few hits, then focus your attacks on the paralyzed uruks for an easy win. Helps if you have Gondor Rampage and Handhod's 4 strike melee attack as well then the battle is over in minutes!
I did this battle today for the first time and I beat it within 3 minutes. I just used the Fangorn Bash perfect skill and then took Grima out with a Citadel Rage and loudwater furied the Uruks....And then I beat Sharku in under a minute....
i use totally differant stratagies to you, i just slash and hack at them till they fall, i barly use any stat bonus things, and as soon as io got hadhood i never went back to idrial, but i will get some "badass" elf stones and use her on my next round =)
yes i noticed that when i got a litle further so i went back to the first place (eregon or something) and i train my leadership skills with berathor and so on... they hardly hit cos your speed is so much higher than theirs, and if you use arnor mushrooms then you have unlimited AP so an hour or so i have most of the leadership skills needed. and any bosses after that i just use morgal decay, removes all there armor so makes pretty much every fight easy =)
Everyone plays the game differently, i rushed through this storyline to get to the end to make my videos. On my good account, i think i had about the same damage as you, maybe more.
How come your characters at that point had only around 2500-3000 hp? My Elegost at the start of the Rohan level has 3200hp and the other characters about 3000.....
You are right my friend, a bitch move, but makes for one easy ass fight. As for people without the stones, just do as i do, except keep only heal/revive with Idrial, do not attack with her. Use items when necessary as well.
bc berethors leadership abilities are much better than his sword skills. For exp, royal grace and fellowship grace are much better than say his uruk-bane. I use his leadership first. then attack when my guys are pumped up on his leadership skills. works everytime dude, trust me ive beat the game completely 3 times.
i used the evil mode glitch. and gave idrial the ancient elfstone of spirit power. ya i kno its kind of a cheat, but i was in a rush to get to helms deep lol.
Is this a first round playthrough? During my second and third I tought everyone apart from Berethor and Morwen Black Speech and other spells and mainly skilled magic/speed. Made the game horribly easy, even on hard (with ancient elfstones ofc.). And: I always wondered why you gain Morgul Decay en masse in Helm's Deep. Trained my abilities there by putting enemies to sleep and spam magic. After some hours, I had like 30 Morgul Decays O_o
(And why the hell do I always write so long comments...)
i only did evil crafting skills for elegost, and this was the second time through for me. i was in a hurry to get to helms deep for my walkthrough so i really didnt train much on any of my characters. i did basically the bare minimum to get through the levels. and only trained my characters right before the aragorn battle sequence at helms deep. and the ancient elfstones glitch owns lol idrial was hitting 30K at Moria if i used loudwater fury :P (idk why my comments are so long too lol)
I hated Evil Mode though... You couldn't pass it as often as you wanted to gain the proper amount of items (f.ex elfstones), NO, you had to do it once, load, equip, save, play evil mode again and so on..... Annoying to get those ancient ES for every character... Well, training ur characters before Helm's Deep (Black Speech owns with Ancient ES of Spirit and high spirit) helps alot. It's like speedrunning the whole game, even on hard xD
Though in the end I lost patience with training to lvl 99..
it increases the momentum of the evil party for about 10-15 turns. Does nothing for stregth, only increases momentum, sort of like Berethor's leadership power: Company Rally.
grima kill me XD

i think the reason he does so much damage with loudwater is that he just poured all of his stat points into spirit. :/ That's my guess.

I remember how much I hated this bastard. He took so long for me to kill.

Kills the Uruks with a powered Loudwater.
I believe he defeated the last level of Evil Mode and saved it to a new game, so the party has some truly badass Elfstones.

Woah, this must be on easy! Maybe medium, but when Grima used Black Speech on my characters, it did more than 600.

I don't know why you don't attack Grima and the other Uruks with Berethor?
I don't very use his leadership and ext.

Lvl 99 is the max level there is, as it is in every other strategy game of this "Final Fantasy" type ;-)

What does Scent of Flesh do? I'm really not sure whether it strengthens the enemy party or increases rate of attack.
