  • Where's Ben Cauley? Soul Finger without his trumpet is like ice cream without the ice and without the cream.

  • the group was the second house band behind the mc's on stax (pre-stax/volt). the guitarist, drummer, organist and sax all passed in an unfortunate plane crash on the way to a gig - only the bassist and trumpet survived - in this group? otis actually wanted them as his band, but got the mc's on his hits.

  • Did they play "Freakshow on the Dance Floor"?

  • They gave a good effort xxx

  • This is so effing sad. How dare these pretenders...

  • wtf did u mean by that?

  • I mean God Bless James Alexander, but this band is barely good enough for this pale imitation of "Soul Finger." No horns, but cheap-jack synths? The guitar player doesn't even sound like he ever listened to the original track. These ham-fisted party boys should stick to their own half-assed rubber soul like "Holy Ghost" and "Do It." These aren't even the same guys who did "Shake Your Rump to the Funk." That's what I meant. Is there anything else you don't know that I can straighten out?

  • @poyoung Actually James Alexander is playing bass on this video and Larry Dotson is in the white hat!

  • Right on!

  • very close to how i remember this song five stars from me

  • Not the same without Ben Cauley.
