Newegg TV: Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD SH100S3 Overview & Benchmarks

Hey Paul... your suggestions please. Just ordered a Dell box with 2X1TB Raid 1 for data. Since Dell doesn't offer it, I am considering 120GB SSD for operating system and software. Is Kingston or someone else the answer for me to move to SSD when I get the new box before I do anything else? Like, is the SSD drive B, or C? And the Raid1 C, or D? How should I do this?

@dancerdoodle The hyperx 120gb ssd is the best value on the market.It has the same high longevity nand as the intel ssd's yet it's faster and cheaper.I'd suggest it as the system drive and a 750gb hybrid drive as the secondary drive for games and data.If you don't game then get a 1tb for data.Seagate is just about to bring out it's new 750gb momentus xt.If you want raid then buy two or three of those for the abaut the price of the hyperx ssd.(Probably cheaper if you get 2)

Dell XPS 8300 Intel i7-2600 quad core 12GB memory, Dual 1TB drives Raid 1. Two USB 3.0 in addition to USB 2.0. Thinkin' add 128 GB(?) SSD  for operating system & maybe Outlook

Drive C? B? Make Raid drive D? cloning software? easy to do?

@TheTrueLifeChanger it's the same as sata 2, but it's usaly marked on the mother board.

FYI:

SATA 2 calble= SATA 3 cable

you can use a sata 3 drive on a sata 2 plug/inpute, but you will loss some of the benefits

and a sata 2 drive on a sata 3 plug/inpute, won't boost it's performance

@KickMoreAss A waste maybe, but an SSD is ideal for a HD that is going to be moved a lot, with standard drives there is a chance that the drive heads or platters will be damaged. This is a non-issue for an SSD.
