Definitely a better sounding ABG that most of the models found at Guitar Center/Musician's Friend. As an owner of a Taylor AB-2 acoustic bass, IMO this is the best you'll find until hitting Fender's Victor Bailey acoustic bass, and then Martin's models or a Tacoma Thunderchief on the used market.
i've been eyeing one of these up for awhile, maybe it wasn't spalted maple, but maybe quilted, i dunno, regardless, i friggin want one even more now!!

Nice guitar, nice review. Strings seem new though - sound much better once they dull a bit and lose the overly metallic zing, even on solids.
