So what if BMW has made a few engines with 100hp/L, they are also torque less and have to revved out to make power. Don't get me wrong they are good engines, but lets be HONEST, any auto maker could do the same thing. However other makers know that if you want an engine to rev to 8000rpm it is going to need a short stroke and really light internals. With that said, the lighter the internals are the weaker they are, hence why.....

Wow, that's news to me. I put 147,000 miles on my C5 corvette without one single problem! I never heard a rattle either. These cars are built like bank vaults. I now have a C6 corvette which is even better -All soft touch surfaces. I just drove it from Long Island to Montana, drove about 800 miles in Montana and then drove back to Long Island. I was so comfortable, I could have driven it again right when I got back home. My father owns a M.B CLS63 AMG and he loves my C6!
@lexluthor400 While Porsche is definitely higher quality than Corvette, the effectiveness of a Corvette as a track car should not be discounted. Parts are definitely cheaper to replace, and, as a track car, you'll be going through parts rather quickly. I'd prefer to drive a Porsche around the track, but the Corvette makes a good case for itself, and the ZO6 is driving nirvana for many.
@lexluthor400 porche has the highest profit margin of all sports cars. Meaning they make the cars with minimalistic materials etc (interior) and over price it. Both are "cheaply" made
Edmunds tested the 335i and it hit 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, and that's stock. There are some videos on here that show a juicebox 335i hitting low 4's. Those m3 times sound right.
actually a 996 carrera convertible has 0-60 in 5.5 seconds the convertible goes slower the 335i coupe has o-60 in a 4.5 second timing so the carrera would lose

bro, the 335i is a great car but you got your shit a bit mixed up. 335i lost in handling against the e46 M3 in a comparison test made by edmund. And 08 e92 M3 traps 111mph and a chipped 335i around 116mph; clearly faster, yep, but supercharge the M3 and bye bye; needless to say the 135i with the same engine is 143lbs lighter and traps 1mph more and handles better.

That looks like a standard Carrera to me...although I can't read the badge well. We aren't talking about a Carrera S or a turbo. A stock 335i should beat a base Carrera in a straight line (at least until about 100mph). I don't why so many of you are surprised. Just look at the road tests and 0-60 times. It's close, but the 335i should win. Add a chip to the 335i and it will smoke the Carrera S as well.
I don't really know what your talking about (I'm not arguing it) but I think it is worth mentioning that the 335i's top speed is limited, if you chip it, it will fly right by 155.

The ACR is the best Dodge has. The best Porsche has is the Carrera GT, which will beat the ACR. And yes it will be more expensive, but you pay a price for getting the product of a company known for being great. How many times has Dodge won LeMans? Zero. Manufacturers such as Porsche and Ferrari have a reputation for making great high perfor. cars, and therefore cost more. Its the same way with iPods vs. MP3 players. But whatever floats your boat, if you want Viper get Viper, Porsche get Porsche.

The previous stock 911 carrera made 325bhp and weighed 3100lbs.

You're correct, the k20 honda would not beat the 997 GT2 around the Nurburgring. I initially stated that Porsches are overpriced and over rated.
For example the Viper ACR, which costs half as much runs a 7:22 around the ring.

Dont try to tell me the viper is more luxurious or comfortable than a Porsche. sure it will beat a porsche around curves and in a straight line, but u got junk as in interior and the ride quality is probably complete hell. its all about personal preference

I've driven several porsches, and have also raced many. For the money, their performance sucks. Their transmissions last forever? They should, being that the 911 carrera only puts down 10 torque to the wheels. The porsche is inexpensive when compared to its rivals? The new 911 carrera's base price is noticably higher than that of the Z06, while the Z06 shits all over the carrera in every way. Atleast as far as performance is concerned.

I wasn't comparing them, that is just how BMW happens to stack up when consumer surveys are done. They consistently rank alongside Kia and Saturn in reliability and build quality.
Now I know BMWs are more of a dynamic car, but then again so is a Porsche. There is no excuse for BMW ranking average in quality or reliability, when they portray their own cars as such a 'premium' product.

Just so happens that my ex wife has a Kia Rio and it is absolutely absurd to compare that car to my 335is. Now that I think about it, I had a roommate with some kind of four door Saturn. @01jerm10 I had no trouble finding such proof. Just look at both '09 and 2010 JD Power IQS studies: BMW was awarded 3/5 stars for quality, which is the same amount of stars as Kia.
So if BMW's are a "premium" car, why are they ranked alongside Kia in quality.
P.S. This year Hyundai beat them in the reliability survey. LOL
You can go on and on about how dynamic BMWs are, but in the end they are still shit cars, that are built like Kia cars and breakdown more than Hyundai cars.

So what if BMW has made a few engines with 100hp/L, they are also torque less and have to revved out to make power. Don't get me wrong they are good engines, but lets be HONEST, any auto maker could do the same thing. However other makers know that if you want an engine to rev to 8000rpm it is going to need a short stroke and really light internals. With that said, the lighter the internals are the weaker they are, hence why.....

Wow, that's news to me. I put 147,000 miles on my C5 corvette without one single problem! I never heard a rattle either. These cars are built like bank vaults. I now have a C6 corvette which is even better -All soft touch surfaces. I just drove it from Long Island to Montana, drove about 800 miles in Montana and then drove back to Long Island. I was so comfortable, I could have driven it again right when I got back home. My father owns a M.B CLS63 AMG and he loves my C6!

@lexluthor400 While Porsche is definitely higher quality than Corvette, the effectiveness of a Corvette as a track car should not be discounted. Parts are definitely cheaper to replace, and, as a track car, you'll be going through parts rather quickly. I'd prefer to drive a Porsche around the track, but the Corvette makes a good case for itself, and the ZO6 is driving nirvana for many.

Edmunds tested the 335i and it hit 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, and that's stock. There are some videos on here that show a juicebox 335i hitting low 4's. Those m3 times sound right.

actually a 996 carrera convertible has 0-60 in 5.5 seconds the convertible goes slower the 335i coupe has o-60 in a 4.5 second timing so the carrera would lose

bro, the 335i is a great car but you got your shit a bit mixed up. 335i lost in handling against the e46 M3 in a comparison test made by edmund. And 08 e92 M3 traps 111mph and a chipped 335i around 116mph; clearly faster, yep, but supercharge the M3 and bye bye; needless to say the 135i with the same engine is 143lbs lighter and traps 1mph more and handles better.

You hear twin turboed I6 and you think Supra? Toyota wasnt the first to do it, BMW has turboed their engines in the past and they always have used I6s for their 6cyls. Potential? Out the doors its faster than most shit. And the 135 is the same engine as the 335, but in a smaller, LIGHTER package. I wouldnt mind a 135 at all

Here in Germany we take a stock 997S X51 and drive it to races at the weekends, end up 3rd or 4th(open class) and drive home after, stopping at the grocery to buy some food for dinner whilst BMW (us-called 'beamers' or flashlights harhar) Ferrari etc. need a truckride to get home.....

That looks like a standard Carrera to me...although I can't read the badge well. We aren't talking about a Carrera S or a turbo. A stock 335i should beat a base Carrera in a straight line (at least until about 100mph). I don't why so many of you are surprised. Just look at the road tests and 0-60 times. It's close, but the 335i should win. Add a chip to the 335i and it will smoke the Carrera S as well.
