Great idea but would use clear wrapped candy canes so that the grandchildren (of all ages) can eat them and they would not be spoiled by the close contact to flowers or dust etc. Would also do canes first THEN the flower arrangement as I'm so clumsy.
Thanks for a greta idea that is simple to do and so attractive. If as one lady mentioned, no candy sticks'canes, use rolled up pieces of striped paper with a shiney coating for similar effect but be careful not to us too tight a band.
U must read this.once u have started there is no turning back.a little 10 year old girl was raped and murdered in 1945 .her body was not fund until 1947.then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message.the dead girl appeared in his room.

It makes me sooo angry cause in fucked up Germany there are no peppermint sticks or such red/green lovely Christmas Candies in general. *WTF* Germany is so depressing. It always takes years to get some Christmas movement from u guys over there to us.
Take it from me: Decorate the jar with candy canes BEFORE you arrange the roses/flowers. ALSO: You might be better off hot-gluing the candy canes to the jar. No matter what size rubber band you use (Or what size jar), the candy canes do not want to stay put. Double-sided tape PLUS a rubber band could also work.

Wouldn't it be easier to put the flowers in AFTER the candy is in place?
