I can't beleive all the negative criticism about this. No one here is trying to be a professional dancer. It is all about having fun.There is obviously no right or wrong in dancing, otherwise it might as well have rules and regulations and be predictable boring and set in stone.The men don't need to wiggle, dress in lycra or appear camp in order to dance.It's up to them how they want to dress and two fingers to anyone who is somehow taken aback by it.;let them dress in string vests if they like.

My god they're stiff like a stick! Fair enough they know the turns, steps, lifts and tricks but for god's sake that doesn't make a dance whole. I can't see the music reflected in the body motion and none of them seem to be enjoying it. Which is the whole point of dancing... so there you go a competition must be to complete, not to display and enjoy.
I also do Ceroc, and I would like to defend it, but I actually agree but most comments. If you don't dance to with the beat and know the music or at least how music works it is literally throwing shapes. Ceroc is just a combination of moves and a code to tell your girl what to do so the tools are there but you have to use them effectively.
The thing that sells Ceroc (remember it's a commercial enterprise) is you can look good (to untrained eyes) without much rhythm.
God, as much as I love dance videos I'm still having trouble watching this one. What the hell was that scruffy oik thinking of, turning up for a dance contest looking like he'd just crawled out of bed?
It's a decent enough performance but he's dressed like a bloody scarecrow., as though he's just breezed in from a local pub. She needs to have a serious conversation with the scruffy git before their next competition.

I didn't criticise this guy's performance, just his appearance. Look at the other male dancers on the floor and you'll see they've all made an effort, so why should he turn up looking like a heap of shit?
Not necessarily. I'm Gold Bar 1 standard in ballroom and latin and also love Ceroc, to some extent because ballroom devotees can be a snotty-nosed old lot, whereas Ceroc venues are usually friendly and good dancers don't mind helping out beginners.
I used to Ceroc but now I do swing dancing. Ceroc is a good introduction to some dance concepts but they don't go into frame and moving your core at all.
Ceroc is like pornography - good to look at but it's not how you actually do it. Lindy Hop is like fucking.
Ceroc is about fun more than anything else. I think you have to remember the point of what dancing is before going in with heavy attacks on Ceroc or the dancers themselves. I enjoyed watching this vid, and I think the dancers are very good.
....and this is advanced?? HELP! Timing is out by a mile. It's jerkey, no flow and it's all about poses. This isn't dancing. Mind you I can't say the music is particulaly motivating. Ceroc have the worst DJ's on the MJ scene. Crap DJ's make for crap dancing as u c here!

The aerials & drops are very impressive but bear no relation to the music. Perhaps the music was overdubbed later?
