You may think this is painful, but let me tell you, this has nothing on a tonsillectomy. I had my appendix removed when I was 8 and it was fun. It didn't hurt at all. I couldn't move my right leg but that was it.
But this tonsillectomy is killing me, I'm losing weight like a bull gains weight on steroids. I CAN'T EAT! I usualy eat 24/7. The only upside is that I got a six pack instead of my 4 pack...
@somethingeasytorecal Cool . Are the Marine Corps the medics ? I'm confused about all of the different courses there are . :) Thanks for serving our country . That means a lot to me .
No, we don't have medics. We rely on the Navy to provide us with what we call "Corpsman" which are medics. We also rely on the Navy to give us chaplains and doctors and dentists, and lawyers.
i just had surgery last night at 9:20pm. i had appendictis and yeh. my stomach hurts when i cough lol duh. they said i could go home since my thing wasnt serious i was lucky i came in that day. and yeah. of course my stomach still huts a little but when im better in about 1 week or 2. then yehh.
Ah! I really hated surgery. When I had appendicitis, mine had burst severak hours ago and infected the lining of my stomach (peritonitis) so I ended up having to stay in the hospital for two and a half weeks! (Trust me, that really sucked!) Apparently, I nearly died. I was unconscious for 48 hours after the operation, and I felt like death warmed over for abiut nine days after that, then exceedingly bored for the rest of the time! I wish my appendicitis had blown over as quickly as yours did!
well actually, i was in Iraq when my appendix ruptured (not burst) 5 days earlier. I was in an enormous amount of pain but i was returning home so i didn't do anything about it. Hours after returning from Iraq and getting off the bus I was sent to the emergency room by my concerned family and remained there for a week. This is 3-4 months later after all the bacteria were killed. I feel your pain "bubblewrapbump"!
Yeah. They knocked me out completely after this one. Apparently I went out and almost bought a computer and I ate some food from Subway. Don't remember any of it. That can't be good when you're spending money and don't remember it. =oP
For those that don't know what it's like, imagine doing 10,000 sit-ups the day before and getting pucnhed 100 times. By the way I was only in the hospital for two days and I was so messed up after surgery. I passed out right before i was to start counting.
Dude 2 hours after a surgery ummm it's not supposed to bleed like that. That means your stitches have bursted. At least your better than I was in post-op. My husband is on pre deploy training right now and I called him. He said he was about ready to crack up laughing because I was so scared. I kept asking him where I was, if he was there, if he was going to be there when I woke up blah blah blah lol
Brwneyedgoddes,I feel like crying after reading your story-I want to visit you with flowers, presents, choccies and hug you-I know that's over the top but I feel compassion in my heart!!

I thought this surgery is inpatient procedure. I must depend on the type of surgery laproscopic or wide open.
