And to say the least, all of the guns used in those exist in real life. However, none of the ones in games are realistically the same as real life weapons. Because honestly, having them being realistic unbalances the game.

Yeah, That's true. But when they licensed source, they got the CS:Source source code - which is the base code that they used for sting.

It's not that big of a deal, but that's the reason why so many people are saying "it looks like counter-strike" because it PLAYS like a modified counter-strike (which is what it basically is ;))
