  • awesome song. I'm half English and half Scots/Irish... I rebel against myself every 2 or 3 years.

  • @michael061282 lol a mix of 3 ? nice

  • @michael061282 half english, half scots and half irish, so you're made of three times 50%?

  • @dirkber Scots/irish is actually a group of people that settled in the US in the 1800s. Some were Scottish, most were Irish, but they were just lumped together and called Scots/Irish. They commonly hated the English though. My Mom is Scots/Irish. My Dad was English, right off the boat as they say. So yeah I'm 50% English and 50% Scottish & Irish.

  • @dirkber Hes said Scots/Irish... as in one of his parents was half scottish and half irish.

  • @dirkber maybe he's like man-bear-pig. 1/2 man 1/2 bear and 1/2 pig

  • @bruffbhoy That would be grand...a B-ball team, "shooting hoops", called THE FENIAN BROTHERHOOD..."DA BROTHERS", for short.

  • Good Tune! Makes me proud of the Irish in me!

  • st. patrick was a irish-scot who was captured by pirates and became one and during that time the captien taught him Christianity and how to read but when the captien died in a battle ST.patrick went pack to ireland and taught the natives about Christianity and the holy trinity (father son and the holy ghost) the fairy tall says that he got rid of all the snakes but that come from adam and eve the snake being the devil in the stroy and i might be wrong on 1 or 2 i am kinda fogy on the subject

  • @americanTDz 'fraid so buddy! Saint Patrick was never a pirate, although that would have been cool as fuck! He was kidnapped by irish pirates from Britain and then brought back to Ireland where he was made to work as a slave. He then escaped back to Britain where he lived with his family. However he claimed that he heard voices asking him to return to Ireland to spread christianity so he did.

  • @hotmugoftea ya like i said its been awhile since i have heard the real story but thankes for clearing up the shady parts of my story

  • Yeaah, Finnegan! :)

    Who through strategy and stealth,

Drove all the snakes from Ireland,

Here’s a toasting to his health.

    But not too many toastings

Lest you lose yourself and then

    Forget the good Saint Patrick

And see all those snakes again.

  • I'm Irish....Fuck You

  • the voice sounds like he drunk a bottle of irish whiskey before singing

    awesome :D

oh i have to notice that 51 english people listened this song? fuck off man and i understand the irish more than english people -.,-

  • @The1AndOnlyTUETE The problem is that many people choose to believe a comic book version of history. An interesting fact is that 10% of the British population has at least one Irish grandparent. The factories in the North of England during the industrial revolution ran on Irish labor. Don't give me that tired England Vs. Ireland shit it isn't true any more. Your fucking great grandparents could afford the boat all the way to America, mine could only afford to get as far as Liverpool.

  • The problem these days is people saying "[insert ethnicity] pride" like they're somehow God's [atheist here, just an analogy] chosen ones. Can't we just enjoy the music, and not say the things that have led to countless hours of strife among us?

  • @yrsnkd What's wrong with being proud of your heritage?

  • @Deslocrawr The fact that there's nothing intrinsically special [aside perhaps from certain immunities to diseases] about it. Being proud of one's heritage necessarily creates prejudice, because it IS prejudice, in favor of that heritage.

  • @yrsnkd Nah... and there is something special about it... there is respecting your ancestors who worked hard, dealt with conflicts in there land, to make sure their kids, and their kids kids had a great future. And each culture brings something different to the plate, and you should be allowed to proudly say I"M IRISH AND DAMN PROUD... I think you are just ignorant.

  • @Deslocrawr But what about everyone else's ancestors? To say yours worked especially hard implies that few ancestors have before.

  • @yrsnkd Yes lets all be friends

  • dubliners did it better ffs

  • erin go bragh

  • i play this for my cousin finnegan all the time

  • irish pride!

  • It is not Irish, it is all humans' heritage

  • A love for the liquor and #punkrock.... Happy #stpatricksday

  • st. patrick would want us all to be drunk as tits right now.

  • @Knightroismyhomeboy read the history of st patrick, kidnapped by irish pirates from west wales lol

  • @3tangle3 yeah but he was treated so much better by his " masters " than he was by his own countrymen he fell in love with the irish people. Returning years later to help the sick and the poor is why hes known as a saint and also an Irishman. Dont get it twisted.

  • @Knightroismyhomeboy i dont know about st patrick but fuck it lets get smashed anyway

  • @Knightroismyhomeboy And Himself a teetotaler!

  • @Knightroismyhomeboy Tits can be drunk?! THIS FUCKIN' CHANGES EVERYTHING!

  • @mrmadhatterh say whaaaaa?

  • Happy St. Pat's!

  • If only the two dumb-asses below me would realize, this is a St. Patrick's day song. When your Irish, drunk, and having a good time, you don't give two shits if you don't understand the words, or he may not have the best voice. As long as you can party to it, and feel the Irish pride to it, it's fine.

  • The guy can't sing fo' shit

  • @MrMadHatterh the new singers better

  • @kilog55 I do talk like a nigger let's fight you racist fuckin schmuck! Im on that left coast , where are you?

  • @Furiarte1 a jewish nigger,,,,,thats a new one

  • @kilog55 Sammy David Jr. was Jewish

  • @Dewdrop042 he was black, and far from a nigger

  • @Dewdrop042 who is Sammy David Jr and what has his relgion got to do with anything?

  • I'm sorry to be a disliker as I usually love this sort of punky music but to find out why I dislike this listen to the Dubliners version. I'm afraid the Dropkicks are too Oirish for someone brought up listening to the real thing. It literally grates on my eardrums. This is a marvellous song so thumbs up to the Dropkicks for covering it. They also seem to have covered lots of other great Irish folk songs. Good for them - I just can't listen to them.

  • @Ridcully9 Its more for Boston Irish rather than Irish Irish. I lived in Ireland my whole life and i was brought up on everything from traditional irish music, to american soul and funk, to 60s and 70s rock, to 80s thrash metal lol. If youre traditional irish, you have to have an open mind to appreciate this. The Dropkick Murphys are my favorite band, there bitter sweet lyrics and vocals mixed with the hard rock and irish intrumentation. True Music!

  • 50 people were born a dego poor shame

  • Like this is your proud to be irish! (or part irish)

  • 50 persons accidentally hit the dislike button

  • its quite funny, i just thought of flaz1997 being 14 before i read his nickname :)

  • old dkm!!!! doesnt get better! its such a sexy cover!

  • And by the by, it's really hard to say anything meaningful in the space they give you in these comments. I probably spent more time editing my last post to say what I wanted to in as condensed a form as possible as I did writing it.

  • To throw my two cents in on the "are 'Irish-Americans' Irish or not" debate, those of us in the US (and I imagine anywhere in America) of mostly European descent are generally proud of our heritage, no matter how distant. Obviously, I can't go around saying I'm Irish, Cree or Quebecois as if I'm purely any of those. My family history, however, includes those, so they are important. I am, before all, a Vermonter, then an American, but I, as many in the Americas, cannot be reduced to 1 ethnicity.

  • @11thcup I agree with you. America is (or was supposed to be anyway) a celebration of our respective ethnicities while simultaneously acknowledging that we're all American and trying to get something done together. I'm the standard American white mix of Western European. I'm not Irish, but I recognize I'm part Irish; and therefore can respect daily drinking, fighting, fast music, and a deep appreciation of language. Irish, American, Texan. I consider myself a human first.

  • This led to a very long book by Mr. James Joyce

  • Was in the pit at one of their St. Patrick's Day shows in Boston when they did this song. One of the single most EPIC moments of my life. :D

  • @dannysgrl2 Wow..... I think you need to get out more often !!!!

  • @dannysgrl2 is boston in THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS?!?!?!?!

  • "American" is a nationality-not an ethnicity. The U.S. is and always has been balkanized along ethnic lines. The only people who don't refer to themselves as a hyphenated American are the WASPs-and it's getting harder and harder to find those bastards anywhere in the society.

    ::Proud Franco/Irishman::

Love the Dropkick Murphy's even if I've never set foot in Boston.

  • Is rud thar a bheith greannmhar silim an meid diospoireact faoi "an fior eireannaigh muid?"a mbionn an idir na daoine meireacanach le sinsir eireannach. Is tir uafasach e seo, faoi dorann na polaiteoiri cam - na bigi ag smaoineamh rud ar bith eile. Gan brathach ach an brathach dubh 's dearg!! Is cuma mas eireannach no sassanach no meireacanch thu. An lucht oibre abu!! (A)

  • 48 people were knocked out, before they could see Finnegan rising

  • I'm only a drunk, but I wish I was Irish...

  • There's nothing wrong with pride in your ancestry.

  • Greets from Croatia :)

    ERIN GO BRAGH!

  • iam dutch but so proud on the irish!!

  • Half Irish, half German.

One side of me's always drunk, while the other's always picking fights with somebody.

  • @EntropicMisanthropic

Doesn't that just make you full irish?

  • @Zarkath hahahahaha XD

  • IRISH PRIDE!!!

  • @Flaz1997 They're yankee's singing irish songs, that doesn't make them irish themselves

  • @atomic116090 theyre irish americans every single one of em so technicall yes they are irish, check your facts before you comment dumbass

  • @TheShwaKid1 that's fucking bullshit... I have gypsy blood but I'm born in the Netherlands, so what am I? A dutchman! If you aren't from Ireland, then you're not Irish, irish americans don't exist.
