Crime happens pretty much everywhere in the world, of course that some countries have higher crime rates than others. Just to make sure, search on Youtube for Ross Kemp on gangs and you'll see that this crime thing happens in London, Los Angeles, New Zealand and in many other places in the so called first world. I'm totally against those who try to explain crime as a phenomenon caused by lack of opportunity, education and so on. Rather, I believe that what cause all this is the human nature.

In South Africa, just like in my country, you are more than welcome, regardless the colour of your skin, your nationality or religion. When I went to South Africa I happened to live and study where there were only white people, but I made lots of friends of all races, nationalities and religions. I miss Cape Town, too. I visited that city twice , in January 2004 and September 2006. I loved the V. Water Front and the CITY LODGE HOTEL in V.. IT was so nice and The channel.. everything i liked there, the food specially the sea food in the restaurant called " The OCEAN BASKET" ... Cape Town is amazing. That said, I found lots of people (almost always white) who just kept highlighting the violence as many people here; it's just looks as if they actually wanted their country to fail and sink like Zimbabwe. You do realize what has NOT happened since 1994 and the strides being made by RSA despite the problems, don't you? A nice word would be nice every now and then.

There are lots of videos showing bad things about SA and I believe that it's not all about this nation. The problem is, everyone has preconceived stereotypes and end up judging countries and peoples without really searching for the truth. It happens to me and my country either, because I am Brazilian and everyday I read and see bad things about my country and that's not all about my homeland. What I meant with this video, was to show how beautiful South Africa is, because I really liked the country, the people, the landscapes and the culture.
Because white South Africans are highly eduacted often have higher degrees and can command very good salaries in Europe/Australasia/North America. If the US is so great, why are there so many Americans in Europe? Or why do 300 000 British Citizens leave their country every year? People have different reasons for leaving their country- but the negative reasons are often hyped by the media because it sells.

Some nice shots, but its not all sweetness and light. Watch out for the muggers/drug dealers around Long St/Loop St praying on the tourists. Spend more time in Stellenbosch/Winelands.

In South Africa, just like in my country, you are more than welcome, regardless the colour of your skin, your nationality or religion. When I went to South Africa I happened to live and study where there were only white people, but I made lots of friends of all races, nationalities and religions. But you should open your mind a little bit, because your oppinion about race and so forth is quite bigoted. Thanks for watching my video and remember, the world is all about diversity.

well ive seen videos of the anc government causing all hell and implementing a "positive discrimination" policy where one race is given the upper hand on everything. a friend of ours went there to work and they wouldnt let him take his money back home, he also got shot in the leg and saw someone get carjacked and murdered. its difficult to make a decision about this place with such different viewpoints tbh. oh well, im still going lol..

I miss Cape Town, too. I visited that city twice , in January 2004 and September 2006. I loved the V. Water Front and the CITY LODGE HOTEL in V.. IT was so nice and The channel.. everything i liked there, the food specially the sea food in the restaurant called " The OCEAN BASKET" ... I invite all those who like to have good vacation to go to CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA.

Cape Town is amazing. That said, I found lots of people (almost always white) who just kept highlighting the violence as many people here; it's just looks as if they actually wanted their country to fail and sink like Zimbabwe. You do realize what has NOT happened since 1994 and the strides being made by RSA despite the problems, don't you? A nice word would be nice every now and then.

CAPE TOWN is beautiful, but lets not forget the FACT that South Africa has the highest murder rate in the world. Thats hardly something to be proud of- and it would be easier to understand if we WERE in a civil war. Its an embarrassment and a disgrace.

In some ways yes, SA has way more culture and is such a beautiful country in comparison. But Canada is much safer, of course. You feel like you're taken care of no matter what happens here.
I went back to visit some family, and our car was broken into and the radio stolen (of course!), so we went to the cops... haha, I don't know what we were thinking - the cops are going to help us? Yeah right...

I didn't had any appeal with SA. I went there because my ex girlfriend was a volunteer. Well i can tell you it was a great experience!! I realy want to go back sometime!

There are lots of videos showing bad things about SA and I believe that it's not all about this nation. The problem is, everyone has preconceived stereotypes and end up judging countries and peoples without really searching for the truth. It happens to me and my country either, because I am Brazilian and everyday I read and see bad things about my country and that's not all about my homeland. So, please guys, let's look on the bright side of things and stop being so critical.

Because white South Africans are highly eduacted often have higher degrees and can command very good salaries in Europe/Australasia/North America. If the US is so great, why are there so many Americans in Europe? Or why do 300 000 British Citizens leave their country every year? People have different reasons for leaving their country- but the negative reasons are often hyped by the media because it sells.
