I never thought Biden was choking up about the loss of his wife and daughter in the car accident 30 years ago, but the potential loss of his son, who was being deployed the next day. I must say, if I was ever undecided about him before, that moment of genuine emotion, of vulnerability and familial connections won my heart.

All politicans have their own agendas. I don't doubt his sincerity because no matter how long ago you never want to lose a loved one especially a child. So no matter what his intentions were it is still a painful loss. What we as voters have to do is not get side tracked and to always research your candidates on what they really stand for and how they have voted on important issues in the past. Think about this: IF you are right and he's using it for sympathy, why isn't he milking it more? He choked and moved on, lasted less than a second.

If he was going for sympathy, and we know he likes to talk, why isn't he retelling the story of how he lost his family? He could have gone into a lot more detail. He's was trying to say, look I know I have it good (as opposed to acting like he's "just like the rest of us" like Palin) I for one appreciated his honesty about it. He was being open, but at the same time did you hear how said his house is his only investment? He's well off but not McCain well off. He wasn't bragging. The only poll I found that showed Palin winning this debate was on Fox and Friends. Everywhere I researched it showed that Sen. Biden carried the event and very well. It convienced me that while waiting for this debate to decide my choice and vote should go to Obama and Biden. Thats a big jump and switch for me. This is hard days. Funny will not work. I was so disappointed.

I was deeply touched by this moment more than anything else. Real emotions are rare in politics and when they emerge, they have a way of transcending the moment. Even watching it again I feel the love and loss this man must have experience in what was likely the darkest hours of his life.

To start, she set it up for him. By continually falling back on family and single parenting (which is prolly what she was coached to do) she overlooked the fact that maybe Biden knows a thing or two about tough times and raising kids as well. He called her out on it.

Having to defend his role as a good parent was probably something he never expected to have to do. It's obvious he was caught off guard and offended. His emotional response is proof of that.

Notice how Palin kept right on going without any pause or emotion after that? That REALLY is an example of the fact all she did was memorize things, that would have been such a great moment for her to really ...REALLY connect with people...and she blew it.

Coming into this debate I questioned whether Biden was a good choice for VP simply because I didn't know anything about him. After watching the debate, and especially this moment, I know now that he's an honest, caring, intelligent, capable man.
