Biden: Do you understand what it's like to have a child who is executed by state terrorists? 19yo Furkan Dogan - shot 4 times in the head, once in the chest by IDF commando.
Do you understand your duty as US VP to protest and avenge this murder of a US citizen?
No - you *support* the IDF's piracy & murder!
Biden: not fit to govern; not fit to call himself "father"!
I never thought Biden was choking up about the loss of his wife and daughter in the car accident 30 years ago, but the potential loss of his son, who was being deployed the next day. I must say, if I was ever undecided about him before, that moment of genuine emotion, of vulnerability and familial connections won my heart.
Of course you would feel depressed about it for the rest of your life. And NEVER get over it. You missed my point. It is just strange that he repeatedly cries about it in public. He cried about it 3X in the last month.
If you're still undecided on who to vote for pay attention to moments like this, moments of personal reflection that are filled with genuine honesty. They happen a lot when Obama and Biden speak.
Now pay attention to the attack minded accusatory campaign that McCain and Palin are running. For the good of the country, don't let them pull the wool over your eyes.
Whats so wrong about dat...maybe its hard for em when he talk about his fam...you gotta be a ignorant ass person so 2nd guess sumthin like dat...u cant jus get over someone's death if they were close to you like that..fuck that cuz joe bidens real..some assholes actually say that palin won this debate..if anybody is goin for mccain and palin your honestly just as stupid as they are..she lied and brushed off questions thru almost the whole debate..im 22 and i know bullshit when i see it..OBAMA 08
All politicans have their own agendas. I don't doubt his sincerity because no matter how long ago you never want to lose a loved one especially a child. So no matter what his intentions were it is still a painful loss. What we as voters have to do is not get side tracked and to always research your candidates on what they really stand for and how they have voted on important issues in the past. Politicians will always try to play on your emotions. Obama/Biden all the way.
Theres no need to call him phoney! Some people can hold back their emotions, you may be strong enough to not cry but i suppose he isnt give him a break!
He lost people in his life that he loved very much, part of his family. That is something no one can ever get over no matter how much time has passed. YOU obviously have no heart. In the end these people are all human. YOU my friend are a complete shame, I feel sorry for you.
You missed my point completely. Of course no one gets over losing a loved one. But to cry about it repeatedly in public after almost 30 years ? I'm sure he is emotional about it... but instead of attempting to control it...He exploits it.
you have no idea what your talking about...Joe Biden has never "cried" or even talked about it publicly you sorry excuse for a human..How has he exploited it when he never talks about it. Stupid republicans always coming up with bs lies...just face it Mccain isn't going to pass point end
I saw him talk and cry about this 3x in the last month. I can send you the links. Why are you so rude? Sometimes people who don't overly show emotion are the ones who feel most deeply.
Whoever you are, you are so full of it. I guess in your own twisted world or mind someone would exploit their own personal tragedy to get votes. You need to grow up, get a life, and stop tracking how many times someone cried. And your all over this video posting comment upon comment saying the same thing again and again. Let's just hope your loved ones don't die and then years later when your emotional about it someone says you should have gotten over it by then and that your a big fake. Loser.

With all due respect, while I do feel sorry for his loss (30 + years ago??), it seems that Joe Biden knows very well how to turn his emotions off and on like a switch. He is a seasoned POLITICIAN.
yea, it was 30 years ago, it's still painful as hell to LOSE YOUR KIDS AND WIFE in a tragic accident. he isn't "seasoned," he's aloud to get a tiny bit emotional talking about this.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
36 years. Of course he's allowed to be emotional over that tremendous loss- I am not the reason for his getting emotional. What I am doubting is the sincerity and timing of it. It just seems pretty convenient to turn on the waterworks when you want to appear more "relatable". Maybe I'm wrong and hopefully I am but imagine just for a moment, what if I'm not? Why would I want to vote for a person who uses something as tragic as the death of a wife and child for political gain??
Furthermore, if you want to question the use of family for political gain...why don't you take a long look at Sarah Palin's baby having down symdrome. If you can remember a while back there was a whole lot of controversey surrounding that topic and her stand on abortion.
For all of our sake I hope idiots like you don't get any further than posting blasphemy on a youtube website with uncalled for comments about questioning someone's humanity when they suffered a tragic loss you sick bastard
Think about this: IF you are right and he's using it for sympathy, why isn't he milking it more? He choked and moved on, lasted less than a second.
If he was going for sympathy, and we know he likes to talk, why isn't he retelling the story of how he lost his family? He could have gone into a lot more detail. If hes going to take the time to fake something, seems like he'd make sure everyone was clued into why... not brush it off and move on as quickly as possible.
to see actual emotion right there, juxtaposed by palin's cold memorization makes it abundantly clear who will actually fix america if given the chance in november.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Who really gives a F*&^ that he has a good salary and a nice big house... Get real idiot!
He doesn't know squat about what it's like...everybody loses somebody sometimes..but that doesn't make him know what it's like for the rest of America!
because he has been through very hard times like many of us have, he has had to bury a child and his wife, and considering the 4000+ military men and women who have died in Iraq, I think they would connect with Biden in his sincerity and care.
Even more so that his son is heading off to Iraq.
Palin's son is as well, I do not like Palin, but if her son is serving this country he sure as hell has my respect.
He's was trying to say, look I know I have it good (as opposed to acting like he's "just like the rest of us" like Palin) I for one appreciated his honesty about it. He was being open, but at the same time did you hear how said his house is his only investment? He's well off but not McCain well off. He wasn't bragging. He was saying that he KNOWS and realizes the disparity between him and millions of other Americans trying to make it. At least he's aware whereas Im not sure McCain and Palin are.
Palin didnt win, she just memorized answers to give to the questions she wanted to answer and not dodge liek she did last night. The woman is a robot who knows squat. She just didnt embarass herself the way she did on the couric interviews where she looked like a total dumbass. Godforbid she was put into the position to make a decision that was critial to this countries safety. I wonder what she would do? i mean she didnt have time to prepare for it! would she break out the magic 8 ball?
The only poll I found that showed Palin winning this debate was on Fox and Friends. Everywhere I researched it showed that Sen. Biden carried the event and very well. It convienced me that while waiting for this debate to decide my choice and vote should go to Obama and Biden. Thats a big jump and switch for me. This is hard days. Funny will not work. I was so disappointed.
I was deeply touched by this moment more than anything else. Real emotions are rare in politics and when they emerge, they have a way of transcending the moment. Even watching it again I feel the love and loss this man must have experience in what was likely the darkest hours of his life.
Joe Biden has internalized his beliefs and his positions. Sarah Palin has had them plastered to her surface in order to LOOK like she knows what she's talking about.
It showed. I know who I would count on as a second in command.
Credit where credit is due Palin really proved she could memorize well and had good coaching in evading questions on topics she had not memorized but did anyone but Republican single issue mentality activists think Palin did anywhere near as well as Biden?
Wow - he really covered that up well and kept talking. He is clearly a man in charge of his emotions. HIs voice didn't even shake but you could see the pain emanating from his eyes. Thankfully, I have never lost someone close to me, Senator, but I just got a taste of what you have been through. Also, thank you for acknowledging that you are better of than most Americans - that's something many politicians like to pretend isn't true!
To start, she set it up for him. By continually falling back on family and single parenting (which is prolly what she was coached to do) she overlooked the fact that maybe Biden knows a thing or two about tough times and raising kids as well. He called her out on it.
Having to defend his role as a good parent was probably something he never expected to have to do. It's obvious he was caught off guard and offended. His emotional response is proof of that.
My son spent his first 2 months on this earth in intensive care, when Biden said that boy did that sure make a connection.
Notice how Palin kept right on going without any pause or emotion after that? That REALLY is an example of the fact all she did was memorize things, that would have been such a great moment for her to really ...REALLY connect with people...and she blew it.
I'm glad someone mentioned Sarah Palin's complete non-response after that moment. She is unreal. But I guess if your just a robot what else do you do.
I love this man, he is so strong, before this debate I already knew that he had lost his wife and a child in an accident right before he became senator, he owns "ONE" house and is not wealthy compared to Mccain who owns how many houses? 13 or something like that!
Joe Biden is strong, outspoken and loves his wife now.
Coming into this debate I questioned whether Biden was a good choice for VP simply because I didn't know anything about him. After watching the debate, and especially this moment, I know now that he's an honest, caring, intelligent, capable man.
I know where my vote and my confidence is going at Election time.
He brought tears to my eyes. I already respected him intellectually. It is rare that I feel an emotional connection to a political leader. I did tonight.
