Using both ur written tut and ur vidz together made it easy mate - many thanks. I decided to add cios247 57 rev20 and updated HBC to get past the 'cios36 isn't es_identify patched' error I was getting trying to install Priiloader.

Bit of a noob question for u tho - when I updated HBC it gave me options to install bootmii and dvdx....I'm thinking there isn't any need install bootmii again when updating HBC - can you confirm please?

@arnithorri common sense here mate, NO if your wii's already on 4.2, you dont need to download any of the above mentioned files as your already on that firmware, those files are for people on different firmwares from different regions.

Let this be your only warning. Do NOT softmod your wii. I did it, and now system updates are restricted and about 7 of my games don't work. But don't take my word for it. If you want to softmod your wii and have the behavior of your wii altered forever, go ahead and do it. I just advise against it.

@dtwiiguru6 don't talk drivel mate unless you know what your on about. Nintendo WANT you to update to get rid of all Homebrew and illegal backup channels/loaders. There's no need to UPDATE your Wii at all to anything higher than firmware 4.1. All you need to do is install the ios that is on the 4.3 update. All you need is ios56 and easily downloaded and installed through HBC. ALL games will run fine even on older Wii's running firmware 3.2. LMAO

@ijustlovedogs13 no, once you modded it and followed everything, delete all the files from the SD card. You wont need them anymore. Then creat two new folders called apps and wad. Download wadmanager 1.7 (google it) and once downloaded, put that folder into the apps folder on the SD card. Then download the cios249 rev 20 [57] file from the above link given to another member and put that wad file into the wad folder on the SD card and istall thro HBC using wadmanager. Simple.

@mrgarciaboy123 You can change the wii themes with any that are out made there but ITS VERY DANGEROUS and can BRICK (ruin) your Wii. I don't recommend to install themes at all unless you know what you are doing. For starters, you need brick protection installed. Bootmii as boot2 and also priiloader as newer wii's can't install boomii as boot2 only IOS. If you have either of these and you'd like to try changing themes, hit me up as I now maje my own themes plus I have hundreds all converted.

@symewn1 Newer wii's especially black and Red ones have a D32- drive chip which makes it physically impossible to read burnt DVD-R's. The only way around this problem is to use USB loading as described in the tutorial or change your drive for an older model. I've stated this to loads of others here too. If your wii's newer than 2009, use USB loading. USB loading is way better than using DVD-rs anyway. Quicker, easier and don't burn up your laser.

@thehhh11 sorry mate you can only get the required files for this particular tutorial through Nintendo's servers which is why you need internet. IT SPECIFICALLY SAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INTERNET at start of tutorial and in description. I will be uploading an updated softmod for all wiis in the next few days. For any wii firmware from 1.0 right up to 4.3 with easy to follow instructions and every method of running homebrew with all exploits.

@kenshinheart there are methods out there for 4.1 but in my opinion they are longer. You can use this method but you need to update the wii to 4.2u. I have added all the 4.2 system menus in the file description and you also need to download the correct one or you will brick your wii. YOU NEED 4.2U. You also need the IOS70wad. Once you downloaded these from my file description, install IOS70wad first and then system menu 4.2U wad through HBC and once done you will be on 4.2u.then proceed with tut

@irishwill2008 4.3 wiis are a bitch to hack. First you will need to install the homebrew Channel (only two ways on 4.3e. YOU NEED ORIGINAL GAME

OF LEGO INDIANA JONES: ORIGINAL ADVENTURES OR YU-GI-OH 5D'S WHEELIE BREAKERS. If you don't own these games, you will have to buy/rent them to get this HBC installed. Once you've donr that, I can help u mod your 4.3 wii or get you back to 4.2e if you prefer my hack. 4.3 is a lot longer and time consuming.

@666drummerman there are other guides on how to hack 4.3 wiis. You need an original game of Lego:Indiana Jones original adventures Yu Gi Oh 5D's Wheelie Breakers to install HBC. Smash Bros Brawl will work if your Wii is NTSC (U) also.

@Clerks0 no mate, the HBC can be updated to 1.0.8, its a bit different looking but no real difference. Just make sure your on 4.2 before following my hack. If your on anything under 4.2 you will need an IOS70 wad and a 4.2 system menu was to install through HBC which will safely update you to 4.2.

@MyGeorge5000 if your on 4.2 you dont need to donload these wads as your already on 4.2. this is for people who are under 4.2 to upgrade to that firmware in order to follow this hack. You cant update via nintendo online anymore or else you'll be on 4.3. Cboot2 will only boot up from scratch if you were able to install bootmii as boot2. if you only installed as an IOS you need to hit HOME in HBC (Homebrew Channel) then select bootmii to run it.

@nuetut that im not sure about, it shouldnt do. if it keeps happening try new batteries or re-syncing otherwise you nay need a GC controller
