There's no such thing as premise stealing. Marc does not steal jokes. How many premises can there be? It's the magic of what a person makes within that premise, that makes it unique.
Hmm, I watched it again and I filmed it and I think he was sticking up for you and as I recall, your etiquette was just fine. I think Marc was relieved to find that the audience was smart and friendly and that's all he was saying.
I mean, I said something *one* time. And Maron said "yeah that's exactly what I mean" in response. Maybe I don't know 'comedy club' etiquette, maybe I'm overreacting, I don't know... just kind of strange to go "oh how neat a video of that comedy show I went to" and find myself getting trashed by the people I was there to see.
It's not a big deal at all, and I don't think it was real trashing. But I do think that in general, comedy club etiquette is that you don't interact with the performer unless s/he solicits input. Same as watching a movie (though if the movie solicits your input, reduce your hallucinogen intake next time). :P
Thought I was just having fun, guess I crossed some unspoken line worthy of an internet-trashing. Strangely enough I find the video on youtube and have a small opportunity to defend myself. Weird.
That's actually me you're making fun of towards the end of that video... "I read this book I read that" etc. Not much of an accurate representation of what I said, considering I spoke up after Maron's comment about books you don't get around to reading, and you're probably conflating me with the anonymous 'great legs' who I happened to get placed with.
Standing up comedy is so great, funny funny stuff louise and thanks for filming!

It would be great if this sounded better. if they know you're taping the act, take a line from the board.

I've heard Mark Maron on three separate occasions (XM radio) three different bits
each time, every time-his material sounded as if he had lifted it from Bill Hicks

that's impossible. Because mark maron is good and bill hicks can suck monkey balls for how much he makes me laugh.

The joke about being 40 and haveing abs is a stolen bit! Louis C.K. said it first! I can't believe Maron would steal jokes like this!

Premise stealing is ok. If people got hurt everytime, comedy would not exist.

I'm an aspiring comic and all 3 of you are big influences and Marc is amazing. Thanks for doing what you do.
