  • Amazing!

    I will rule at this.

  • Macbook Air has really weak dual core, uses 10%

Winpad Mobster has powerfull quad core, uses 12%

derp, windows is bettar derp lets laugh wen he says mac book is underpowered.

  • @comedytracker

derp, lets compare Total CPU Usage, to Individual CPU Usage

  • wow you suck at the end were he sed it was almost inpssible to watch a video in flash ? well if its so good why would you pick the slowest ever part of the film maybe show a action scene or somthing were its not so slow ............. adobe you suck

  • why are audio & video out of sync ????

  • Nice. Now go fix the bugs on the player.

  • If you guys was to optimize your damn code you would not need to rely on hardware acceleration to improve performance

  • and what does this mean for people that does not have the supported hardware for flash hardware acceleration ? even less performance then before, so everything is going to run more like crap, way to go adobe.

  • The audio is not out of sync, they dubbed him.

  • Hardware Acceleration, Way To Go I'm Still Waiting For The Fisrt Antivirus Engine Who Will Be Able To Use GPGPU To Speed Things Up

  • I noticed the audio is out of sync as well. Also, the DivX beta player comes up 404. Hmmm. no comparisons there.

  • @Genevill One can only hope.

  • "by the way that one of the new Macbook Airs it's 11in, it's fairly underpowered!!!

    Totally dissed Apple! XD

  • @Genevill ... and still it ran the video on a lower cpu usage than the HP. ;)

  • @saverman ...That's because Adobe specifically optimized 10.2 to perform better for Apple systems. Why,' u ask? because Adobe is afraid they might completely lose Apple to HTML5 in the future.... XD

  • @Genevill He didn't dis Apple.

Try use one before you pass judgement. It's small enough to use in a cheap airplane seat, light enough to cart most everywhere, its unibody design makes it strong and rugged. You saw it takes less CPU power to run the video demonstration than the HP. It has about 30 day standby life, and it's fast to use because of its SSD drives.

There are other Apple computers available with different characteristics. Which computer make/model do you use?

  • @badmanners411 I'm sorry my comment hurt ur feelings!!! X(

  • @Genevill That's kind of you but you didn't hurt my feelings. Don't own a MacBook Air myself; have used many computers from many manufacturers, and can see the positive side of the model that you and Captain Adobe T Kirk said were underpowered.

  • 0:30 Bill Gates?

    LOOL :D

  • Nice work Adobe. At least it would have been if you'd done this two years ago.

  • Flash is a waste of time, money and effort. It hogs the CPU processing power, its the number 1 reason why computers crash and it has the MOST loop holes and bugs for hackers to exploit.

  • @JohnDoeXD Sounds like dead steve jobs crying in grave

  • maybe flash will not die after all....

  • LOL, Who is this fat ass with the Star Trek body glove. Can we say man tits. LOLLOL Come on Adobe have some kind of dress code with your presenters

  • Ten gość ma większe Cycki niż niejedna laska xd

  • Mogli to na lepszym kompie nagrać..

  • Under powered? Maybe more like over burdened. When you can make a 12x difference in one release I think you have to admit that your coding was crap before.

  • Something tells me this will be Intel and Snow Leopard only....

  • "... we are there" oh NO you are NOT!

  • @V8SilverFox You the fanboys are really fun, also when facts slap your nerdy face.

  • @insearchofsunrise100 rather be a "fanboy" than a windowlicker ... and what exactly are your "facts"?

  • So in my view, this video concludes that "apple does not allow proper API's to be used" argument holds no ground. It was adobes problem all along. SJ spoke the truth.

  • Apple making adobe shape up and up their game.

  • LOL out of sync! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!!

  • Comment removed

  • Lol this video is a fail. Looks like adobe barely managed to squeeze out a few more years before their business is destroyed by HTML5.

  • @sBissell123 like 90 % of web videos are in flash i think. and apple is only one thats not using flash much and supports HTML5 fully right now. but because of that, adobe is comming up with a software that changes flash to HTML, so they are using their disadvantage with apple to their benefit! these adobe ppl are brilliant!

  • Finally! It only took you guys (Adobe) about forever.

  • Comment removed

  • So what this shows is that it's not a hardware issue. The "fairly underpowered" Macbook Air runs the flash movie easily when flash is actually coded properly.

So stop bashing Apple and Mac OS X when the fault clearly lies with Adobe.

  • Put it in Android.

  • adobe should have leave apple to squander all around.

  • Yeah macs really are underpowered

    Macbook Pro i7 $2000+

    GPU: Nvidia 330m

    That's so bullshit

  • to bad macs don´t have the best GPU:s either.

mac = underpowered and overprised(fact not anything else), but you don´t need a good cpu for stuff like open office, and macs are suppoesed to be easy to use. it´s up to you.

i have a phenom II x4 c3 cpu @ 3616MHZ. i have about 6% cpu usage for this video. full HD is 12 times more so it might end at 72% while watching in 25 fps. if it´s 60fps i will get problems altough.

  • @ulvhund

Flash for mac has been coded really crappy by Adobe. That's why your friends macbook plays flash video so crappy. How is Apple at fault here? If Adobe coded flash as crappy would Microsoft be the one to blame?

  • really, some ppl should not wear tight suits, REALLY! his suite just distracts everybody from content

  • Look at 3:43 follow and while he zooms. Apple does it again. The CPU usage goes over 100%! 115.6% CPU usage at 3:50. Go Apple!!

  • @ulvhund In MacOS X you get 100% CPU usage per core. So if your computer has 4 CPU cores, you can use 400%. Linux does the same thing for example.

  • @tehjim2 In Linux it displays every core as in Windows...

  • @ulvhund

    100% = One core, 200% = Two cores... etc

  • Took more than 4 years.

  • With everything starting to use GPU (browsers, Flash, OS desktop), looks like CPU will be at 1% usage but GPU at 100% most of the time. Maybe in 5 years we'll see a new, revolutionary idea - a program that uses CPU!

  • >"Worlds most advanced Operating System"

    >No TRIM support

    GG Steve Jobs

    -sent from my keyboard

  • @TravisAxel

"No set timeframe for implementation, but preliminary work is being done"

Well, at least they are currently implementing it.

  • @TravisAxel Yeah, it's quite bad, but I'm pretty sure it's coming.

  • congratulations adobe.

  • @truimagz

So the ones who like Apple is generally less techy? Maybe when it comes to hardware, but I don't think it's true when it comes to software. Are you sure or is it just your own loosely based conclusion? And Mac OS X is Unix. Do you mean a Mac running Mac OS X is less advanced than a computer running Windows or Linux?

  • OS X IS a less advanced operating system. It is so because Apple made it so, this way it's less tech-savvy user base won't screw it up. GNU/Linux however(except Ubuntu), is the opposite, with its user base pretty much consisting of high end computer enthusiasts. Windows on the other hand, is right in between.

This is no opinion, it's fact.

  • @smartguy9765 I'm sorry, but the only true fact is that you don't have the facts right. There's nothing ”limited” with Mac OS X - it's fully UNIX compliant.

Do a Google search on ”mac os x for unix users” and read the top PDF that comes up. In what way is the things in there less advanced than the other OSes?

Just because Mac OS X seems easy and simplified on the surface it doesn't mean the core of the OS is.

  • @iAppletechreviews

    ''iAppletechreviews''

Shut your aids infected mouth, hipster faggot.

  • I like how the Macs CPU usage goes over 100%...

  • @lpasepok

That's normal – it's because of the dual core CPU in the MacBook Air and each processor/core counts as 100%.

  • @staraffinity

Ah, I see! Thanks for sharing that information with me :)

  • That's the reason why overlay on the current flash api slows down videos. Looking forward for the final release of the new version I'm gonna watch some 4k vids!

  • Video and audio is out of sync... (Using the square 64 bit flash plugin)

  • LOL... I watched this in HTML5. Adobe, you are certainly not THERE and flash is not suited well for video. Though, it good that you people at Adobe are finally admitting that flash performs terribly.

  • @luckyduck152 I'm getting 7-8% CPU usage on this video, using flash. It's been that way for like a year now. Let me guess, Steve told you that flash wasn't suited for video.

  • @luckyduck152

Flash is not only about video you tard.

ANYTHING you see in HTML5 and go wow that's cool can be done ans has been done in Flash in a fraction of the time it takes to do it in HTML5.

And remember that HTML5 without A LOT of Javascript is close to useless compared to current HTML.

Look for Flash Molehill demos here on youtube.

    For example Max Racer

  • @inlovewithi Hmm, some people are actually viewing heavy Flash websites under VMware on their Macs, because that performs better. That really shouldn't be the case if Adobe put a bit more effort into their mac Flash player. There is no magic in either Windows or VMware.

  • @luckyduck152 Yep. You just follow the crowd. "Flash is not suited for video", but every major video site uses it. DUDE, YOU MAKE SO MUCH SENSE. No, grow up.

  • @luckyduck152 I never understood the fuss about Flash "consuming too much CPU". I've had a PC all my life and never once had an issue with Flash video except with buggy Flash apps but that's the developer's fault.

  • This is good news but I'm suspicious about the 4K video since it had practically no movement. If they had shown a 4K trailer or Elephant's Dream/Big Buck Bunny/Sintel that would have actually proven the point.

  • What is this? GPU offloading vs all CPU? Who knows this video didn't say anything. And who are these people who are clapping for flash? Don't they know it sucks vomit out of an elephants ass? I bet it ramps GPUs to 100%.

  • @odizzido Must be an Apple Fanboy, just angry because lord jobs was wrong about flash being a memory hog and this video proves that with a little optimization and work you can reduce strain on the processing

  • @Xuxa16 I don't own a single apple product.

  • those guy is so hilarious

This new Macbook Air - it runs flash !! xD

  • bye HTML5

  • Well the Tegra 2 get support?

  • @skydrome Flash isn't debended on hardware. So yes, in some form.

  • Star Trek?

    Eccentric much?

  • Well done Adobe! I think we can thank Apple for the motivation! :)

  • the video and voice does not match! adobe failed again.

  • @xtravel09 No, this is buggy Apple Software (Final Cut Pro).

  • @chrm then why adobe has used Final Cut Pro to make this video when they have their own video editing tool.

  • @xtravel09 why did they failed?

  • why is he dressed like he's from star trek?

  • @itubeutude :)

  • @itubeutude because he fucking rules
