I watch many old j horrors before holywood did remakes it's totally diffent 'cause east slavic mythology is mostly based on orthodox things and legends. Maybe it's just trailer helps you think so...

Look at this so called ghost in this trailer, it is a complete take from a number of j-horror films. its not an opnion, its a fact. you don't want to talk about it because you know you are wrong :)

I did not suggest that Gogol's novel was anything to do with J-Horror, or that this film was J-Horror either. I just simply said that the imagery of this film is very similar to horror coming out of Japan recently. Never said it wasn't a coincidence. It was just fact. And I doubt Gogol watched any J-Horror, since he died in 1852. Get a clue!
