You can change your Finder setting to not open in "All My Files" by clicking on Finder then going to File > Preferences > General Tab. Look for: "New Finder Windows Show:" drop down box, and you can change it to open to anything you like.
I have short attention spans and usually can't watch a video beyond 10 minutes, but I watched the entire thing, it's amazing. What''s your iMac specs? :)
go to finder/preferences and then there should be an option for "open new finder window"
