@jdulmage1 Well, Andromeda (IMHO) was good about until halfway through season 2, when they kicked the entire plot they had drawn up (that was really amazing) out of the window to center the series around Kevin Sorbo.

And, while I have to admit that there have been worse actors commanding a starship on TV (looking your way, Bakula...), the original concept where ALL the characters would have done something as important as Dylan reforming the Commonwealth simply WAS more epic.

@1maintoshclover good question it could be anything from a string instrument to a woodwind/brass instrument. I'm thinking voilin family or clarinet family. Oboe comes to mind but that's probably too deep/low.

This was a really great show for the first season but after the first season they really polarized everything where Liberation was good and the aliens were bad. It was really good the first season where William Boome was caught in the middle and wasn't sure who was really the evil one.

It's not from the maker of the andromeda strain, that is michael crighton, it is from the maker of the television show andromeda, and star trek. (Although both andromeda and earth final conflict were made after his death)

I believe Gene's wife (Majel Barrett Roddenberry, Nurse Chappel in Star Trek Original series)) found the preliminary script after he died, and pushed for it to be made. We can never know how gene had planned for it to ultimately be.

I liked the show, but like any series, after the first season they had to tweak things. Da'an was all-positive, but if you noticed, it was ike there was always 'something' being held back. Zo'or, a child of Da'an, was the perfect 'opposite' of Da'an. I liked Augur - had his hands in everything!  Good series!

This show was so strong in its first year with stellar performances by Kliner and Von Flors; the seeds were sown for a long, five-year arc like B5 but completely jettisoned with the change in producers.

@middyseafort All the Canadian sci-fi shows have been like that. They start out great but bureaucracy interferes and turns it to pure shit.

Take Andromeda for example. Started out with this amazing story arc and then by the end of season 2 it was this episodic P.O.S. about how the guy from Hercules flies around the galaxy getting laid.

There must be some real douchebag executives in the Canadian TV industry that like to ruin everything...

i have heard lots of rumours, but they killed the arch of the story by letting him go and then removing all the other characters one by one. Season 1 was amazing. Grade A* stuff. But it's so painful to see it go so bad so quickly.

One thing I noticed was a definite personality change in Da'an. In season 1, he was like a saint but became kind of a bitch in seasons 2 and 3. Alot of changes certainly occurred after season 1. They got rid of characters and gave other characters personality overhauls.
