  • NIce one mate. Have always been scared of trying braid on my multis but this has inspired me...

  • Been using braid for about 18months on all my multi's. Casts a dream due to it's low diameter. Not ideal in every situation but neither is mono and I think the advantages out weigh the dis advantages. If using a CT cage just 'spread' the line a bit quicker across the reel when winding in, that way it WON'T 'bed' itself in. Love it!

  • @trifflelate if you use a round braid, you can treat it exactly like mono as long as you lay it on under some tension. ..... i find that the only time I can't use it is if fishing big rough seas when there is wind against tide, and weed thrown in too, that's the only occasions i'll put the braid loaded reels away. Plums.

  • Nice to see you trying it out ;-) why is it that were told not to use braid on multi's ?

  • @chriswhitlow100, people are scared of braid, the older braids used to be flat in profile and would bed into themselves and cause problems, by using these new round braids we can treat it pretty much the same as mono, just be sure to wind it on under tension and lay it the same when retrieving. .... ... for scratch fishing, mullet and anything but 'weed / strong tide / wind combined' it's a dream to use, you'll see bites and feel fish fight like you never will on mono. less over-runs too!
