  • The reason he is doing "girl pushups" is to build speed, if you want to build strength you wouldn't do this, but it works better for speed, they are easier to do and you can do them faster, getting your muscles used to moving fast, people are so ignorant.

  • @tywainwright1 Seeing as how the description mentioned rehab, I doubt he's doing this for speed gains. You could still get speed benefits from a full pushup if you just keep your ams closer to your body, focusing on the triceps and sternal head of the pecs. But either way, this type of pushup works part of a rehab/recovery workout

  • @stealth7769 This is so true. Correct form is the only real way to improve. He has the right idea doing pushup for explosiveness but without perfect form he is only setting himself up for being good not great.

  • @MrJDK164 I agree. Speed and Reach can make or break a fight. I've been hit by a guy twice as strong as me, but it was so slow there was hardly any impact. Switch him with someone half his size, but twice the speed, I'm getting dazed. It's like getting hit by baseball bat going 30mph vs a baseball doing 90mph. You can lean out of a hit with a bat, but there's no time to react to a baseball to the face. You're probably going down. lol

  • Awsome, very hard going excersize, after 1 minute of push ups even of ur knee ur arms will be PUMPED and very heavy so doing 3 - 4 set of 10 punches after that is dam difficult.

    wich is good cuz i train on the bag using muaythai & my own freestyle fighting techniques i did 5 reps of 15 of those push up everyday and i noticed a significant increase of punching power but im not too shore on the speed i think speed bag or shadow boxing increases speed more rapidly then pushups

  • @BLaCkKsHeEp this is the speed puch up on the nuckles. its better for punching speed. also if you keep you elbows by your side when you do the pushups your arms are keeping the right movement for a punch helping with the strength needed for the technique.
