  • Why black rtv sealant and not blue?

  • I replaced my water pump on my '95 S10 ast year at 115,000 miles. Never had a problem, however, I did replace all the hoses and timing chain. Runs like a top!

  • muy bien amigo real good video my friend

  • Did you use a reverse spinning water pump since it's a serpentine belt system?

  • did u have to extend anything but the fan shroued when u did the bodey lift

  • Very well done sir!

  • If you own a garage or auto repair center, I would highly recommend you just based on your knowledge here. Thanks much for the help, you helped a family in Colorado get their auto back on the road. : )

  • Thanx this is one of the best videos it helps and its really clean and clear

  • thanks great job i bet it was hard foing stuff single handed

  • What a great video! my water pump is starting to leak, as soon as I get ready to replace it I'll watch it again. Tanks!!!

  • Yeah, I crushed them pretty good. I've got them out of the way and will repair them; but I guess I'll have to find another culprit as I don't think that's whats stopping my fuel pump (I can't hear it, so I think thats whats wrong). Thanks for your response and for the great videos.

  • hi, great instructions! I just finished changing the water pump in my 95 Jimmy but now it won't start. It's turning over great but either no gas or no fire. I think I might have pinched that wire on the left- could that be the problem? Thanks

  • @HSpikeJ If you pinched wires, (possibly going to the crankshaft position sensor) you need to fix that first. It will probably leak there anyway.

  • Nice vid, thx for your time. Lol parts guys and blue rtv, heard that before they say its the same, ya my ass

  • thanks for posting, def glad i did it myself saved me over $150 witch was what the shop wanted to do the work!

  • thank for showing me how to replace my water pump, on my 95 chevy.

    I saved me 3 too 400 dollars...

it took me 3 hour , but it was easy..

    thanks again....

  • Wow, great video, thanks for posting !

  • great vid bud

  • Not bad very comprehensive

  • thank you so much for this i know a lil bit abotu cars and i needed to change this and not good without pic and this vid did it for me ^^

  • so over all how long did it take, after editing down the video.

  • @linkmand I really don't remember. I do know that when I make a video while working on a vehicle it can take twice as long, or more, than without making a video.

  • video is very helpful, gave me most of what was needed to do this on my 92 Chevy C1500. If you have to reuse the bolts that hold the fan on, use 2 nuts tightened together on the bolt and use the lower one to loosen the bolt out. Make sure they are snug together. Then use that upper bolt to tighten the bolt into the new water pump. Oh, and don't drop them in the snow because then you have to wait until first light to find them :(

  • execellent video I learned a lot thx.

  • Very well put together! It's like watching Trucks on Spike!!

    A+

  • great video! i have a 1998 chevy blazer that need a water pump replaced, which is pretty much the same procedure you did here...........

  • Great job recording and working at the same time. Hows your thumb doing? Ouch!

  • Thanks for the comment. My thumb is fine now. I had pinched it between an impact wrench and an A/C compressor. The bolt I was removing was longer than expected.

  • Outta curiosity why the black over the blue rtv?

  • Blue takes up space. That's about it. Black RTV is more of an adhesive & a sealant. I once used black RTV to attach a Ford radius arm bushing washer to a sheet rock wall to prove a point about how well it adheres. I know for years, people tried to pull it down & couldn't. I may have to go back to one of my previous employers & see if it is still there.

  • Thanks for the tip on the black RTV.

  • Thanks for the vid it really help. And good job on it

  • hey man, good job on the vid, good quality, good narration, and step by step! 5 stars & subscription!

  • Nice vids. Now I can go change my own water pump. Saved $200.

  • I love these trucks, this is the type I learned to drive stick on.

  • I learned to drive in a 1965 Ford F100 that I bought & made road worthy when I was 14. It was a three speed on the column. I took my driver's exam in a 1988 S10 4x4.

  • I learned when I was 14 too. Lol. I like the OLD fords!

  • so mad ....just bought and sold my latest s10 with a 4.3l and manual 5 speed. The frame was rusted into 2 pieces between the rear spring perches and my land lord doesn't want broke down vehicles in the drive way or any car work of any kind on the lot

  • hey great vid., did you let the RTV dry at all before filling? or cuz its soo thin its not a problem?

  • I have always had better luck applying RTV wet and installing it immediately, than letting it skim over or, cure at all, before installing the part. Everybody has their own way of doing things & what works for one person, doesn't for another. I will say this: stay away from blue RTV! Once you go black, you'll never go back!

  • damn good!

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it-and thanks for subscribing too!

  • thats my dadys truck!!!!!
