  • Whoops sent it twice sorry about that

  • Deposit is enroute to Joe for my first whip... a Raiders 8ft screen accurate bullwhip. I can't wait...also caught your Indy whip video where you showcase each one...awesome!!!

  • Another question for you...is the Raiders whip you have 12 or 16 plait, and does it's lighter weight affect it's performance? I am all but set on purchasing a raiders whip at 8ft in length (at Joe Strains recommendation) and would like your opinion on it before I make the call...

  • @J1613R 12 plait is the standard for Indy whips. And sure, the lighter weight affects the performance, but it's more about preferences than performance. The heavier whips get louder cracks, like the Jacka whip, but they also wear you out too fast. An 8', 12plait Indy whip is a great way to go. That's what my Crystal Skull whip is. It's one of my favorites. You'll love whatever film style you pick. Joe is a master.

  • @flicky76 Deposit placed for the eight foot Joe Strain Raiders whip...can't wait!!!

  • Btw this will be my first whip...

  • Hey nice video; I am trying to decide what I want...Raiders, KOTCS, or standard Indy. It seems like the eight foot KOTCS bullwhip was easy to control and cracked every time. Thoughts???

  • @J1613R The easy answer is anything by Joe Strain. Terry makes high quality stuff, but after all this time, I've decided that his work isn't my style. Another way to go is Bernardo Del Carpio; he is my other favorite whip-maker. But, you can never go wrong with Joe Strain. His work is top quality, and his turnaround times are very reasonable. And any film style you get from Joe will handle well and you'll be sure to love it!

  • @flicky76 Thanks man!!! I am going with Joe Strain from Northern Whip Co for my first whip...still not sure what I want (doesn't matter...whatever I get I'll wish I got the other one...and probably end up getting that one too in the future). As soon as I consult my checkbook, I'll send out a deposit...thanks for the information sir!!! I really appreciate it...

  • you LOOK like indiana jones.

  • you LOOK like indiana jones

  • NICE technique! I have two of Joe's bullwhips: a Crystal Skull 6-footer and an Aussie-style targeting bullwhip. I also have a Ten Commandments bullwhip by Jack Perry (his work is about as good as Joe's) which I used as a Klingon weapon in a soon-to-be-released episode of STAR TREK: PHASE II.

Anthony DeLongis was very impressed with my Joe Strain whips.

Are you in SoCal? If so, maybe we should get together...

  • @PonyHorton

Hey, thanks for the compliment! I'm in NorCal, but I'm planning a trip to see Anthony in June . . .

Are you an actor? Stuntman? That's really cool about the Star Trek episode!

  • Does anyone know why terrys whips are so much more than joes

  • LOL, your neighbors must LOVE you

  • Amazing whips..

Last week I crack my whip in my house, and my neighbor call the police. He thought that they were shots rsrsrsrs.

  • awesome video... i have a 10 foot strain myself and was also looking to get a jacka so this video is real helpful in comparing the two.... the jacka whip crack sounds real heavy and solid while the strain sounds a little lighter.... are the cracks the two whips produce different in real life too? hows cracking the jacka compared to the strain? hows the balance? i like the jacka whipcrack but the sound that joe's whip makes when its flipping through the air sounds so fast and painful

  • Joe's whip is lighter, and a very screen accurate Raiders of the Lost Ark whip. Terry's whip are heavier so they take a lot more arm, but they are not exactly slower. The weight of the whip actually helps carry out the crack, so in many ways it's easier to crack and almost faster. And yes, the difference between cracks is much more pronounced in real life. Jacka's is louder. But like I said, the Jacka will tire you out really quickly! Glad you liked the video!

  • thank you for that... another question: how are the two whips in performance? with the strain i have some issues from time to time getting more difficult techniques done, such as successful volleys or 3 crack patterns, even sometimes the fast figure 8 just because the whip is so long and supple.... from what i understand about the jackas, they're almost sort of like bullwhip/stockwhip hybrid because of the extended belly for leverage. so is it easier to do tougher cracks with the jacka?

  • Yes and yes.

I have the same problems and successes respectively.

  • awesome, great to know... thank you for the info.... last question hahah how did you place the order for the jacka? is there a website or phone number you could provide?

  • nice hell with a master !
