  • I feel a tonal center in this piece. The main theme has a I-IV-I effect. The piece is genius, but I could not say it's atonal

  • @akanavouras It feels like that because the piece follows somewhat of a blues form. It's really more of a funk blues that utilizes twelve-tone techniques.

  • very nice composition.but with the tonal effect.serial music, this is not

  • The drums tend to fall out of time on occasion.

  • Not twelve tone, but I like it!

  • three blind mice anybody?

  • This is brilliant.... I looked up serial composition after some guy mentioned it on a Deathspell Omega video.... And I have to say he may have a point with the whole tonality thing.... Look them up, if you can get past this then you must be able to listen to schizophrenic black metal stylings! I suggest Bread Of Bitterness....

  • the drummer is the shit

  • i agree with intervalkid the horns were completely tonal

  • wonderful!!!

  • i dont know why but i cant get into this kind of music. although i love music of almost all kinds..

  • @Kapuzina1337 because its people just playing some random notes!

  • not twelve-tone but that's cool bro

  • Incredibly cool composition. Love the organ, bassline, and drums. I however thought the horns were quite lacking. Just stumbling about. Didn't seem to have a serious grasp of atonal phrasing.

  • @intervalkid by organ you mean electric piano right? :P

  • You guys sound fantastic. Wish I could have been there. I think I was working that night or had a gig or some other reasonable excuse. Will - you need to always play rhodes. Always.

  • i agree to a degree but it is what it is and its good

  • It would be better, if trumpett and puzo were playing 12tone...

  • actually reminds me of bitches brew quite a lot

  • I quite like this - but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with serialism.

  • Serialism is not the only way to achieve atonality.

  • This is awesome!

Although, I would consider this jazz, not blues - the chord structure is, of course, much more complex than blues would allow

    Excellent composition!

  • I don't think this is blues either- the title is a clever pun on the classic jazz structure known as the 12-bar blues.

  • Oh, well I got the pun, I just didn't register as just a pun I guess. lol

  • get = register?

  • This song was the first example of 12 tone I had ever heard. I remember being kinda shocked but eventually liking it.

The pianist reminded me of me when I played for the very first time.
