Best ever DYNASTY cliffhanger. So much more dramatic and suspenseful than the following years Moldavian massacre. Love Alexis being mauled by hookers in that
heres what i dont get: A.) Where was Fallon going?? and B.) I thought Fallon "died" in a plane crash, leaving Jeff at the altar, running off with another man.
I just love how when the prison guard opened the cell and Alexis just stood still with this "I'm not going in there attitude" and the guard just pushes her in there. LOL! Good thing that pretty red dress wasn't torn to shreds!
Okay, for one thing why did Fallon run away from her wedding and why does she keep rubbing her head? And don't tell me she saw that 18 wheeler coming right at her.
She was apprently having seizures, but I don't think that's how you can act when you're have a seizure or attack or anything of that kind. The final scream is a chilling one though. An effective and slightly spine-tingling atmosphere was created here for this Season Finale scene.
The problem wasn't with Emma Samms as an actress. The problem was the way they wrote Fallon's part after she returned. She became passive and whiny until the last season when the writers returned Fallon to her earlier character and Emma Samms proved she could do feisty just as well as anyone.
Totally agree with you, when I saw Fallon played feisty by Emma Samms when she returned to Dynasty, realised it was the writers on The Colbys, who made Fallon so pathetic..
The writers flubbed Mark's name. Mr. Hess told Alexis in her studio after the catfight with Krystle that her ex's name was Samual Mark Jennings. Here the detective called him Mark Howard Jennings.
It's okay. It hardly ever rains in Southern California. But really sussexking, don't certain activities remind you of scenes from TV? Running in the rain reminds me of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman.
Was Fallon's change in appearance explained away like Steven's when the recasting occured? Did she have surgery after the accident or anything, or did they just make it as though she'd always looked like Emma Samms?
No explanation of Fallon's different face. (IMO) Fallon should have stayed 'dead' - as much as she tried, Emma Samms just didn't do the role justice. One of DYNASTY's biggest mistakes (and there are many). Now, had ES came onto the show as a totally different character, no prob. PSM's Fallon was simply too defined to be recatst.
It's interesting that all four of the Carrington children were recast over the years, even Adam on the reunion movie. The other controversial one seemed to be Karen Cellini replacing Catherine Oxenberg as Amanda, who was hired only because she looked like Oxenberg.
@TRAVISJAMES03 I thought ES in season9 was far better, she was much more like PSM, so if they had made her more like PSM from ES's entrance, then things would've been so much better. Or, like you said, just made ES a different character. XD
No one will ever be better acting that kind of role than Joan COLLINS . It was only because of her i was watching the show and i'll never be bored doing it cos i'm either thrilled and laugh a lot... Thank you Joan for being so elegant and glamourous also...
is the scene on youtube where alexis finds out that fallon died. i never liked alexis but i felt so sorry for her when she found out about fallon's death.i remember she was still in prison for mark's murder when blake told her the news
after this finale fallon's character went downhill. when she came back she was so wimpy and cinderellaish. i love emma samms but her fallon was so differet from pamela's. god i love alexis british accent.
I remember the party scene where Blake got the mansion back and the producers actually let Krystle show a different hair style! It was nice to see them allow Linda do that who joked that the producers would recast the role of Krystle if she ever did.
I want to see the intro to lillypond scene when a car is shown pulling into the Carrington mansion as the scene splits to Fallon and Alexis in the study. I remember thinking either Alexis had a Mercedes coupe or it was the same light blue mercedes again!
Krystle's blue Mercedes was actually a wedding gift and is seen throughout the pre Ted Denard trial episodes. The 2nd car was the red ribboned Bentley along with a necklace for Krystina. Not uncommon for wealthy people to have more than 1 car but not often are they shared..at least that is my experience.
Fallon didn't get very far in the car as the odemeter reads 1076mls/135.8 and stayed @65mph both times we see it. Like to see when Fallon has her breakdown in her bedroom, assistants getting to her, headaches with flashbacks to the carosel from Little Blake's party.
Although Emma Samms had the role of Fallon longer than Pamela Sue Martin, Ms. Samms simply wasn't able to redefine it as her own and remained under her predecessor's shadow. Ms. Martin defined the role with a passion that was never quite there after her departure from the series. Of all the cliffhangers from the 80's, this one ranks as my second favorite, behind only the incomparable Joan Van Ark's discovery that her supposedly dead twin infants were alive on "Knot's Landing."
I agree but the writers still bear responsibility. What made Fallon so popular was her strength and independence which disappeared when Emms was cast. One simple way to "change" the chatacter would have been changing the intro in the opening credits. Everytime I watched it I would flashback to Pamela. That oversight didn't help..
Pamela Sue Martin has a quality all her own and poor Emma just did not have the same quality in her performance to step out of Pamela's shdow. The only actress I could see filling the role is Sherry Stringfield. Her range is well established on Guiding Light and carried over on ER. I would love to see more of Pamela.
Pamela left an incredible void to fill I agree but some of the blame should go to the writers as well. They rewrote her as a victim, needy and weak. That was totally opposite of what made the character so popular. Kind of a cliche, that approach has been done to death on soaps. Sherry Stringfield would have been an awesome Fallon.
What always bothered me about this finale was Fallon's Mercedes. In early Dynasty Blake gave Krystle a baby blue mercedes as a 1st wedding gift. Did Fallon take off with her car that night? No, just one of those production oversights.
Mark Howard Jennings? Wasn't it Samuel Mark Jennings in the begining?
