What a wretched waste of film and talent. Jeeves and Wooster, as written by Wodehouse, and then performed in the series by Fry and House, was already a parody of the times and mores depicted, so why bother ridiculing it?
Yes, they are not Laurie and Fry; however, they are much closer to the way Wodehouse described the characters in his books. Very entertaining none the less...
A butler is in charge of a large household-has various underlings, maids, cooks, footman ,cook, groundskeeper ,etc.A valet has only one concern-his employer.
Hmm!!Indeed!Should you be a J and W fan you may enjoy the intro from the original `65 series-"The World of Wooster" on youtube.Ian Carmichael(Bertie)and Dennis Price (Jeeves). It doesn`t get any better than those.
Richard Pearson as Mole.Ian Carmichael as the narrator.Peter Sallis as Ratty.David Jason as Toad.Sir Micheal Hordern as Badger.I consider it the definitive version.
@holmsatlarge yes in the film though ian carmichael played ratty before peter sallis played rat in the tv series which followed the film. Great tv programme don't make them like they used to anymore sigh........

@JAVA4DIVA I think what you meant to say was 'Fry and Laurie', not 'Fry and House'.
