@Gearshifter09 These are the Go-Bots, a sort of Transformers-lite. They actually came out a little while BEFORE Transformers, though. However, their success was hampered by the fact that the animation used in their cartoon was... not good, and the toys that went with it were uninspired to say the least.
@evilrubberchicken94 It would have been better if Hanabarbara did the animation for the Original Transformers G1 instead of those fucking Japs who can't conform to American style animation worth a fuck >_<
BothTransformers and Gobots originated in Japan around the same time as Takara's Diaclone and Microman (Transformers) and Bandai's Machine Robo (Gobots), so technically they didn't copy anything.
i wasn't born around that time but watched the Volume 1 DVD of G1 and looked up go bots and noticed that Gobots didn't even have a second season as compared to transformers. transformers had 5 seasons and gobots only had 66 episodes. Although both were a huge hit for the kids back in the 80s, the Transformers is still a huge hit for the kids today because of its surviving 25 year toyline. Whats next? Third season of TF:Animated and TF2:Rise of the Fallen. That's how big transformers are.

Yes, they were the Kmart of Transformers.
Yes, the Transformers were better.
Yes, the Transformers outlived Gobots.
I still loved this show; all due respect given to the Transformers.

Quite a few Hanna Barbera cartoons from the 80's haven't been released by Warner Bros. yet, but hopefully they soon will.
