@iamlumin china is affraid if tibet become independent china will be weak because the land of tibet is the biggiest in china and china cant afford to lose that big land. but china will split because not all tribes in china r happy the turks in jinxiang north west china r piss off and call for freedom to. they need to form up with tibet and lets see china fight them. its easy to defeat monks but against real army china never win in thier histiory mongols fuck them up and japan and vietnam border

Tibet has part of China for a long time, and should remain part of China. Han Chinese constitutes about 98% of population of China, When it comes down to it, you people will easily be crushed.
As for the Mongols, they're nothing without Genghis Khan. They belonged to China too, but the Russians took them from us, of course we'll soon correct that and Mongolia will be returned to China.

The Dalai Lama is one of the great moral figures of our time, and has led his life in humility, moral courage, and the belief in the redemptive power of human compassion.
Certainly another reason for taking such historic action was to send a message to China that the world beyond Chinas borders views the Dalai Lama as a great religious leader, someone that the Chinese should no longer demonize or defame or ignore.

6,000 monasteries, nunneries, temples, and their contents were destroyed. 1.2 million Tibetans died as a result of China's policies. All people including Chinese and Tibetans deserve the basic human rights to preserve their cultures, express their political views, and freely practice their religious beliefs.

These outbursts of violence by the Uighers and the Tibetans are the result of tensions caused by these people feeling :
1) Their culture is being eroded by the influx of Han settlers,
2) Resentment that they are being economically and culturally marginalized in their own ancestral land,
3) Treated as second-class citizens and discriminated against by the majority Han Chinese.

interesting to note, at 00:58, he says riots are spreading to the east "of the country". in effect, no one but the chinese consider tibet to be anything other than a nation invaded and occupied against its will. all previously classified diplomatic papers that have been released in recent years attest to this. the canadian foreign office called china's legitimacy in tibet "a fiction".
