  • new? the ulu has been used for 100's maybe thousands of years. originated in alaska wayyy back in the day

  • @ScRoTe1992 New to us :) It's a great concept that has been around for many, many years! Thanks for checking out our video!

  • Love this knife. Will have to buy one.

  • Thanks MRRugercat45....This knife is still our best seller! I'm glad to know that you enjoy it. I appreciate the post. If you have field or shop photos with this thing inaction, we'd love to add them to our site. Take care!

  • i like the shape of the blade ,

the knife remides me about the traditional alaskan hand axe

    cool piece

  • interesting and creative but i think ultimately pointless design. you would have to be being very picky to want to change it to the ulu style or vice versa. its a preferance thing so having both just makes it easier to break/ go wrong/ not slide without real advantage.

  • Would have to feel one in my hands to evaluate quality, but the design is innovative. I like it.

  • might be more useful (and comfortable) if the blade is broader when pushed back as a ulu

  • I am Mike Vellekamp, the designer of the ULU. I was really just out to design a great camping/kitchen/everyday carry/utility/locking folder all in one. But I ended up having some fun with a new idea and making some design changes to add a second locking position so that it can be also used as a ULU-like tool. It isn't the same as a traditional ULU, but the versatility and strength of this one of a kind tool are top notch and it is a top seller at $49.95. Thanks for all your comments(good & bad).

  • @grinchrocks (about Blade-Tech U.L.U,) I own one of the black China made ones, great knife (And I HATE Chinese knives!) The lock is quite possibly THE STRONGEST liner lock I have ever used, I was wondering, do you still make the Titanium USA made ones, or ANY USA made U.L.U knives or the new TOOL-U -got to get one, they seem really useful. Recently used to scrape a piece of brain-tan moose or caribou hide-worked great, hide came out like velvet. Great choice on the AUS-8! Sincerly rugercat45

  • @MrRugercat45 you do know that in alaska they have american made ULU knives from the ULU factory that you can order? my brother went to alaska and got me one, he got to sharpen it there at the factory. pretty amazing knife :D

  • Odd.

  • I would rather have a real ulu.

  • Very nice knife. I've been thinking of getting a good camp/outdoor knife for a while now. This looks like a good all rounder, though Im not going to buy yet another knife if one isn't strong enough.

    Nice review into the knife

  • nice knife and rivew
