Symbolic (maybe Crystal Mountain actually, heard on a local radio) was my first contact with metal. Favorite metal album since then, hands down; still waiting for a contender…
i think..... chuck was killed off because like many other people, chuck tryed to spread the truth around the world and for some reason all the people in this world who try to make a diffrence for the better end up dying before there time:(
I think i like the albums from human to sounds of perserverance cuz chuck talks about life n shit n it really makes me think but as for scream bloody gore n leprosy those albums r fuckin sikk too!.. R.I.P. chuck!
Those were the days in the early 90's just kickn back on a bright summer day in a boring suburban town...jamm'n to true music...... I really miss chuck.....
Quality is a little poor on the sound here. But man, Death are so fucking awesome live.. I prefer listening to the live tracks than the studio ones! Obviously the studio tracks are perfect but there's something to Chuck's playing when he's live, and I prefer the vocals he uses live.
One of the few bands who does not only live up to their recordings when playing live - they actually beat them.
Im not sure when this was played but its a shame that great unknown bands like Death had to go up against shit bands like Nirvana and got fucked over for being possibly the best musicians at the time
He didn't "leave" Death for Control Denied. Control Denied actually started before Death dissolved, but Death was under contract with Nuclear Blast to do one last album (Sound of Perseverence).
man this band sucks!!! i don't understand why everyone is on it's dick so hard. this is just another example of why the 90's can be labelled as the musical dark age. This band sucks, nirvana sucks, alice in chains sucks. the only good band to come from the 90's was at the drive-in.
Talk about cuntructive cryticism... Hey, fella! Can you give atleast one objective comment on why Death sucks, lircally, musically, creatively... Even if your a fuckin' troll, answer this? Loser... go do something reproductive you waste of flesh.
true man... thats why rock and metal aren't anymore mainstream and never will be again. 90's was a step back for metal. But i must said that Death is a good band and is sad really that metal isnt mainstream anymore because now you can see bands doing everything to become mainstream (Nu Metal, Melodic Metalcore, Alt Rock). Is sad
90s was amazing for meta... Spiritual Healing, Human, Individual Though Patterns, Symbolic, Sound of Perseverance, and thats just death. Effigy of the Forgotten, Pierced from Within from Suffocation. I could go on for ever
I was lucky enough to catch them on tour in NJ when Gene Hoglan was drumming...very cool guys. Cynic opened up and during Deaths set, the power went out in the club and they just came off the stage and chilled for a bit...RIP Chuck
Finally Death gets the recognition that they deserve! Too bad its happening 9 years later,.... I loved Chuck since Sounds of Perseverance was released! Now i know that's not saying much but i was only 12 at that time! Since the first Studio album was released in 1987! Two years after i was born! haha Crazy shit man,... anyway! LOVE CHUCK, LONG LIVE THE KING OF DEATH! "Stay Strong and Hold on TIGHT!!" - C Schuldiner
i also think its awesome that he just says "thank you so much" etc at the end. its refreshing cuz a shizload of bands these days say stupid shit "or say THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!" whereas chuck just says "thank you"
This is the song that got me into Death. I was just so drawn into it. Everything fit perfectly together. How could something so heavy sound so beautiful?
i get the feeling that alot of other guitarists are going to die while these Emo fags make horrible music. cliff, Chuck And Dime, probably alot more un fortunately.
Hmmm..., Chuck on vocals/rythm(Death), Dimebag on Lead(Pantera) , Cliff Burton on bass(Metallica) and Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka drumms (Decapitated). This great band is making Jesus and his diciples headbang right now.
RIP Chuck... As someone said in another discussion thread "Hope you're having the most wonderful jam sessions ever in heaven with dimebag and other late godfathers of the scene.
he is too great but at least he has a good drummer with him lol
RIP CHUCK and VItek
i have all of Death's studio albums and when ever i listen to them. i feel kinda empty that he is not with us anymore. i only wish i had found out about death before Chuck died. at least im getting through high school by looking up to him and his amazing songs and learning from them
Chuck deserved a longer life. I love his music and his playing. In this generation full of untalented generic trendy musicians in metal, we really could use Chuck to show these new bands what real metal is. RIP Chuck. We all love you and your music.
He was Death my friend; Vocalist, Guitars, Composer, Lyrics, Lead Guitars.
When Man and Machine Collide - Control Denied was more than 80% done and they couldn't finish it without Chuck because they could never live up to his creative genius and those are words straight from the band.
Npt 100% accurate. From a few more recent articles i've read... album is finished and was finished before chuck died, it needs vocals and some post production work, but the music is there. It's just alot of record label bullshit, as always and has always been. Have you heard about James Murphy's Death Tribute album with TONS of contemporary people on it?
Dude! I never knew this, sorry it has been a while since I last read on the album. That is awesome news man!
And to your question, nope I had no idea! So what is the deal on that one, I would love to get my hands on it. Is it out, coming out, and who is on it?
Here in world (especially in US) money have replaced gos. Money means everything and people have became so materialistic. in Finland everybody gets healthcare no matter if you don't have money and I think it's good system (as long as it's here money probably flows from that to more "important" things soon...)
Finland isn't the only country to offer good healthcare. Many countries such as Canada offer a good healthcare system, but America fails to enforce their so-called "American Dream" by allowing the innocent poor to die because of their maladies but the materialistic and useless rich to live on...
you know i listen to metal bands from the mainstream and the not so big to the complete underground but you know how all these kids are like oh i like bands like
lamb of god, killswitch engage, slipknot. most death fans is like oh yeah i like bands like death, ihsahn, nile those are just examples but thats how it goes for me at school
@23igna you're right man and God doesn't control us. God isn't something that is like us we have to imagine God like something that we aren't He is everywhere and anything but is not something (like masons or hitler or politicians) who control somebody and decide what is good and what's not. religion is not the same with church and Chuck has made great music with great lirics and his lirics just speaks
i would give everything i have to be able to write a lick like that, and still sing while playing chuck is the fuking father of metal as far as im concerned
