He uses double sided tape in this video - I prefer the ungimmiked version. Requires more slights and handling skill but it does mean it is impromptu and can be done with any pack of cards without any notice.

the double stick tape is on the back of the ace of spade so when the cut the cards the card is put on top of the ace of spades

that's easy. Theres double sided tape on the back of the 3 of spades and the three of spades is on the top. so the selected card is stuck to the three of spades

No, the pass is usually just for using the entire pack, not a small amount of cards, there were double lifts though around that part.
