so i just started playing nwn 1 and im now a level 8 druid with diamond armor and the desert wind scimitar. im only on chapter one. i found out my dad has nwn 2. and i like the gameplay style of this game. but i dont know if i should swith over after the little time i put into nwn 1. so can someone help me out
I know this is the worst place to ask this but is it worth it to turn khelgar into a monk? I mean I myself play a ranger (bowstyle) and my usual party is Khelgar, Qara, Neeshka (so far). As a fighter he has like 26 AC and he is equiped with a +2 Dwarven Waraxe, he can hold the front line easily and deal satisfying amounts of damage, will he be able to hold as a monk? Or will there be another fighter party member?

I play the table top DND even thou there six of use we're no that dumb to fight a dragon with have a high level sorc or a dragon slayer with use. And if we do have to fight a dragon bring alot of heal and we find it's weak points before fighting any what level are you.
This fight was a major PITA. Tholapsyx killed my party three times. I didn't even intent to start the fight. I just wandered over by her horde without thinking that I had Neeshka's AI set to automatically disable traps. So she starts messing with one of the trapped chests, which the VERY large red dragon didn't like much (ya think?), and the fight was on. No buffs, no preparation and caught flat footed. And the bad thing was that I had just saved my game when I saw her start on the chest.
Yeah i remember trying this with a mate online. We wondered up there with our characters and we got absolutely slammed lol we were surprisingly high level and still got bitch slapped.
We ended up having to bring the whole party to kill her in the end :( which was pretty much the same as before just the dragon now had more targets to set on fire.
@Dogbuggery haha i use simulacrum on she and them killed very easy with ranged spells and all people using ranged weapon, the simulacrum killed most of it and the ranged spells.
Games are evolutionary not revolutionary. What type of game would you make if you had the chance? Would it be a different game if you had dozens of people relying on your idea to sell?

my advise on this one is to say that u are here 4 the firegiants and not her, she will agree to help u, when u have killed the giants she will try to take everything for herself any way so attack both, when the king is dead loot him take the belt and run.
My god this dragon sounds FUCKING SWEET, i love the over dubbed voice samples.God the century ( + ) old wisdom they have would make me tremble in fear let alone their titan-like size.
They did a good job capturing the Dragon's scale without making it seem TOO unrealistically big (Can't say the same for DnD's normal tabletop art and models though XD)
Haha I beat this when I played it with my swashbuckler, Lvl 16 or so. Was amazing, I had 2 weapons, Enhancement bonus + 3, 1d6 acid, 1d6 electrical, other weapon enhance +5, 1d6 electrical 1d6 ice, knocked the crap out of him player only on hard mode. I worked hard in that game. :)

Im not sure if anyone died, but I know I didnt even need to reload! Unfortunatly, I couldnt open the chests (no knock spell). So WENT ALL THE WAY back to get neeshka so she could open the dam chests!!!! Haha that was funny though man. Cheers! :)

Yeah, I beat the two black dragons with 4 level 8-ish characters (believe it or not). But also, I'm pretty sure that Black Dragons are the second weakest of all Chromatic dragons, with Whites being weakest, and Reds being the strongest. Plus, Tholapsyx claims to be ancient and dragons grow in strength the older they get.
this dragon is a true motherfucker. Each neverwinter has a dragon which is nearly impossible to destroy (in the first one, there was a red dragon called klauth that was extremely hard)
all you need to do is send in a fighter with high fire resistance, have at least two spellcasters with issac's missle storm(greater or lesser) memmorized as many times as possible using the metamagic feats,and a healer, (Be Prepared)
that dragon is easy to kill, all you need is a tank, and 2 mages with isaacs greater missile, if ur tank can survive long enough ur mages will kill that dragon in about 3-4 rounds
It is a little easier if Khelgar already has the ironhead's belt and the dragonslayer,that's how I killed that beast!!!,there is a treasure that can help you in the crosskeep
Hehe, I remember this guy; I had alot of difficulty taking him out because I didn't (and still don't because I stopped playing after finishing the game) really understand too much of the mechanics of the game. I had a character that wasn't exactly good (my fault), my buffing was lazy and limited to potions (my fault again) and even then I cared little for micromanagement. It is little wonder it took me 9 tries :/
Well even soloing the Red Dragon is easy, exspecially if a Sorc or Wiz is your char. Just load yourself with IGMS (maximised for 120 no safe damage, which you can get at lvl 17 and empowered ones). Then blast the hell outta it, after you buffeda lil of course. Bigby owns the dragon, too.
I did this fight yesterday, it played out perfectly. I lied to both the fire giants AND the dragon. I told the giants I would slay the dragon and I told the dragon I would slay the giants. When it came to choose sides I sided with the giants, which were wiped out by the dragon. I then swept up what was left of the dragon. Both hoards of treasure mine, both promises kept.
You are supposed to load your mages and spell casting characters with full of icy and strong spells and then spread each of your melee characters around the dragon. never approach from 1 direction. your best bet is your mages since melee is not that effective against huge bosses like dragons in NWN2( I am glad they orrected it and melee is like a real tank in mask of the betrayer

Well it depends. You need to pause(space bar)the game since alot of control is required, also alot of reading is required, of skills and feats and class so you can make strong characters that work well with other characters. It's not bad, it's just different ^^
good try, but it was easy for me, say, i nwn1, have you v.s.ed klauth, i remember using a lv 14 on him an getting killed 3 hit! but klauth sucks compared to morag, but seriously, i thought the last boss was going to be more cool, like a three headed mutant or something, not a half-lizard half-human!
yeah that dragon was a pain in the ass for me...I was able to beat it on the 3rd or 4th try on easy with my dwarven cleric. The trick is to have the tanks go up front and put everyone else spread out as far away from the Dragon as possible. make Zhjaeve(the gith cleric) stay back and only go forward to heal and res, and get Quara or Sand to spam isaacs lesser/greater missle storm. Then use your character for whatever hes good for.

The red dragon dies real quick if you use maximized ice storm - he's vulnerable to cold damage. Fire attacks don't work.

Well even soloing the Red Dragon is easy, exspecially if a Sorc or Wiz is your char. Just load yourself with IGMS (maximised for 120 no safe damage, which you can get at lvl 17 and empowered ones). Then blast the hell outta it, after you buffeda lil of course. Bigby owns the dragon, too.

I just upgraded my video card just to play this game I am still eary on in the game i got it just a few days ago. I can't wait to fight this dragon.

I did this fight yesterday, it played out perfectly. I lied to both the fire giants AND the dragon. I told the giants I would slay the dragon and I told the dragon I would slay the giants. When it came to choose sides I sided with the giants, which were wiped out by the dragon. I then swept up what was left of the dragon. Both hoards of treasure mine, both promises kept.

You are supposed to load your mages and spell casting characters with full of icy and strong spells and then spread each of your melee characters around the dragon. never approach from 1 direction. your best bet is your mages since melee is not that effective against huge bosses like dragons in NWN2( I am glad they orrected it and melee is like a real tank in mask of the betrayer

this game is ok but im sure id like it more if i had played past the 2nd lvl lol im used to being able to kill things in 1 hit in nwn 1 and its boring to me...oh well im might give it another shot i just cant decide what class to be.whenever i chose 1 class i want to be another...

woaa! im really enjoying NWN2 now ^_^ after getting out of the village by winning the cup thingy.
I'm at the Hill cliff (druid forest gone bad) area now.
I got a mage (my main char, a rogue (steal and backstab) love it! and my tank a Dwarf. Now some tree worshipper just join my team. This game is really fun with nice story line. Glad i give it other try =]
im 50 good and 50% bad in that game. help people and kill everything lolx

Well it depends. You need to pause(space bar)the game since alot of control is required, also alot of reading is required, of skills and feats and class so you can make strong characters that work well with other characters. It's not bad, it's just different ^^

good try, but it was easy for me, say, i nwn1, have you v.s.ed klauth, i remember using a lv 14 on him an getting killed 3 hit! but klauth sucks compared to morag, but seriously, i thought the last boss was going to be more cool, like a three headed mutant or something, not a half-lizard half-human!

yeah that dragon was a pain in the ass for me...I was able to beat it on the 3rd or 4th try on easy with my dwarven cleric. The trick is to have the tanks go up front and put everyone else spread out as far away from the Dragon as possible. make Zhjaeve(the gith cleric) stay back and only go forward to heal and res, and get Quara or Sand to spam isaacs lesser/greater missle storm. Then use your character for whatever hes good for.
