@TruthIsRacist It's a north American thing I think. Full contact karate and MMA really suppressed the rise of a decently sized kickboxing scene. Television broadcasters in turn don't bother spending money to broadcast a sport that's not too popular. Well, or so they think anyway. If you ask me you could make a pile of money broadcasting kickboxing matches instead of MMA. Generally speaking it's just more spectacular.

I mean, compare this fight to two wrestlers hugging for 10 minutes in MMA....
