its weird coz Paul McCartney was right handed but he couldn't manage to play right handed guitar so his dad had to get him a left handed one ! :) god bless the Beatles!
@sallyg270 Actually, he's left handed. When he was younger he had to play the guitar upside down before he learned how to change the strings around to play left handed.
@PineApple1999icp - He had been in car accident sometime before this video was filmed and had subsequently suffered a chipped, front tooth and cut lip from the accident.
they were accused of embedding drug messages with backwards music, but this song only has the chorus reversed you can check it out with windows sound recorder.
eg. if you play back my name "Lance" backwards, you get "snail"
@hrutujadiwan Backwards music means they recorded the song regularly, and then played it backward. At the end, they played the first verse backwards. However, this video doesn't include it for some reason. ;-/
@bigggpun142 it was the b-side to Paperback Writer, the only albums its been on are the Past Masters and maybe a few compilation albums, non of their studio though
This is the ultimate psychedelic/rock song. If you listen to it while lying on the floor with the lights off and only a candle burning, you'll trip out without any drugs at all. Follow that with The Chambers Brothers' classic "Time" and you won't come down for a week. Natural highs; the best kind.
@KaptKan1 I remember when I didn't have headphones I would lay down & turn on my black lights & put my speakers next to my ears & listen to this song. And other songs of course.
Best Beatle year=1966 in my mind. They were the epitome of cool but '66 was such a good year that they may have been outshined by the Beach Boys and Dylan that year. Nonetheless, they were at their best to me. 1968, 1965, 1969, 1967, 1964, 1963, 1970, 1962 1961 goes the list in descending order from best to worst afterward.
filmed a bit after paperback writer, and a bit more more inventive with edits, Beatles 2nd formal video- Don't include "Hard Days Night" or "Help", as they were movies- "Rain" was done around the time of ' Revolver'- Summer, 1966- and there you have it-
I really love this BEATLE periode - love the location, long hairs, cloth and the of course this masterpiece song .. 40 years (!!!) after release still very very good to hear ...
my little sister wont let me see the video- she keeps bothering me to pause it on 1:02 so she can kiss the screen.. i could barely finish this comment
great song.. love the video poor paul, though. His tooth was chipped because of a motorcycle accident
I'm with your sister. John was gorgeous!! That smart-as* grin you hardly saw once Yoko came in the picture is full of joy and mischief...but I'm torn between 1:02 and 2:35 as to which is my favorite of John.
John were can i get those Shades? haha Great Song love how Ringo Rips through those Drums, He is so underrated in this song but it is his Favorite song.
@SpasticSeamonkey también a mi me hubiera encantado vivir en esa epoca, la música era excelente (sobretodo por los Beatles y los stones), la moda, la libertad de pensamiento era estupenda la epoca no que acualmente....
Ringo helped shape a new style of drumming that focused less on solos (which were prevelant during the 60') and more on creating unique beat patterns. If you look at beatles songs stripped of melody and harmoney and production, often you can tell what song it is based on Ringo's drumming.
Ringo bad drummer? Are you sure you listened to this song carefully? If you're still not convinced even doing it, i suggest you to listen She Said She Said, where Ringo simply destroys
In my opinion one of the finest Beatles songs. Paul won the A side of their new single with catchy radio sound of Paperback Writer whilst John had to settle for the B side with the progressive sound of Rain. This film clip was recorded in 1966 inside Chiswick House grounds in West London. I visited the gardens today and thought about this song.
Paul had gotten into a motorcycle accident close to the time of this filming, where he had chipped his front tooth in the process. He hadn't yet gotten it capped.
it wasn't the FIRST song, as the idea of backwards recording came about in the 40s or 50s or so. though the beatles are attributed to having made it mainstream. indeed they did. lennon actually originally wanted this entire song to be recorded backwards but this is how they decided to do it in the end.

Ringo's nose is too big.

Ringo helped shape a new style of drumming that focused less on solos (which were prevelant during the 60') and more on creating unique beat patterns. If you look at beatles songs stripped of melody and harmoney and production, often you can tell what song it is based on Ringo's drumming.
