I don't pretend to be an expert on the subject, but I think I remember the answer to your question. If memory serves, the current accepted theory is that the magnetosphere of Mars was somehow lost. Without the magnetosphere, the atmosphere from Mars was ejected into space, and therefore it would be impossible for life to persist on the surface.
Unfortunately my answer raises a much more curious question. I don't believe scientists know how or why the magnetosphere can vanish.

But that is not a photograph its a 3d model of the terrain. Satellites scan in patches which cause differences in color due to the time delay between each scan. Therefore you get that result. Its nothing new. :( I was hoping there might be evidence this time.

What can be seen on these images are perfectly normal "rendering artifacts" which occur when you polygonise an elevation map (or a voxel field). They are due to the resolution limit of the 3D data the probe aquired. Make yourself familiar with how these images were generated before you start seeing things that aren't really there. You can think of these features as "pixels", only that they are not 2D pixels, but rater 3D-pixels.
These are equivalent to Phyrophilite pipes seen on earth where they are only 10's of meters wide. This is where gold is found. Because they are white, it shows are easily on spectral imaging cameras, like in this video. Nothing special here.

on google earth and you will see what appears to be a complex of buildings in the mountains of colorado. I can assure you that there is nothing there because I have been to this location many times. yes there even appears to be shadows and even windows. this is pretty common in satilite imaging because the imaging sequence is digital not photographic.

In the last part of this video , it is no doubt that there are structures. You see depth and dimensions. You see 3 sides .2 walls and a roof. Even windows if you look carfully. Also you see pillars similar to Greece& Rome . You also see green. It all look intact and not ruins . I have the hourglass pic from ESA and when I zoom in you see green bleeding through and structures as well as the little squares. Not sure what they are?? But there is something there for sure...

But that is not a photograph its a 3d model of the terrain. Satellites scan in patches which cause differences in color due to the time delay between each scan. Therefore you get that result. Its nothing new. :( I was hoping there might be evidence this time.

What can be seen on these images are perfectly normal "rendering artifacts" which occur when you polygonise an elevation map (or a voxel field). They are due to the resolution limit of the 3D data the probe aquired. Make yourself familiar with how these images were generated before you start seeing things that aren't really there. You can think of these features as "pixels", only that they are not 2D pixels, but rater 3D-pixels.

These are equivalent to Phyrophilite pipes seen on earth where they are only 10's of meters wide. This is where gold is found. Because they are white, it shows are easily on spectral imaging cameras, like in this video. Nothing special here.

this is so big that people don't understand. It's a work of art ---some how rock and debris from space has landed on the surface just right to create a mosaic of enigmas 3-D layered art -you see you have to look at the big picture all of these close up views are in a set pattern that your imagination has control over not you -I've put up a video on my page showing you a satellite Image then I cleaned off all the smugging and ran it through light spectrum analysis and you will see the results

This is just plain silly. There is nothing in these images that support the theory that there is currently a civilisation on Mars. If one zooms in on an image, there will be pixelation. With your technique, one can zoom in on static noise from the TV and see civilisations there too.

on google earth and you will see what appears to be a complex of buildings in the mountains of colorado. I can assure you that there is nothing there because I have been to this location many times. yes there even appears to be shadows and even windows. this is pretty common in satilite imaging because the imaging sequence is digital not photographic.
