Yes it's true if they didn't spend the money on commercials and other ads they could spend the money on shoes... but how many pairs of shoes would be lost due to no one knowing about TOMs? I think it's worth spending money on a nice commercial that gets people interested in the shoes. That way they become customers for life for the quality, comfort, and the cause that they stand for. If they get a customer for life then they will gain more shoes then the money they spent on the commercial would
