operating expenses are nothing compared to what commercial airliners income are, the pax pay for the operation and alone cover way more than the operating costs. air freight 1st clas airfare and secret passengers all are hefty profits. airlines constantly cook the books with high incomes for the executve pay that make it appear as if they are not profitable. don't forget other subsidies and tax breaks that also lead to true profitablity for airlines that is buried in salary's
More than 70% of Americans over 40 own there own home! (record!) Middle class medium income has risen 33% sense 1979! ($18,000+) Many household own 2 homes! (5-10% of middle class) Vegas hotels and casinos fill up with visitiors all year, even at times of economic 'stress.' (not to mention lotteries) Millions of Americans go on Cruises each year. An average Amercian family spends around $2600 a year on meals outside the home! And $426 on alcoholic beverages...
Congressman Paul, "...who has no pretensions to eloquence, is a man of more solid judgement and information than any man on the floor." (...to borrow a phrase from Patrick Henry)
Lol more like 10% of Americans, The U.S is still the richest and most powerful country. Has the lowest poverty rate compared to other nations like russia, nigeria africa, iraq, britain. etc.
There's hope folks. Once upon a time Mao said that, "A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another". Got milk!
@MisterSunson Couldn't Agree More Sir ! TO THE RICH - "A Revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another." - YOUR FOE MAO
You're assuming that credit card debt and over spending on luxury items is the main reason why the working poor are poor. This is a seriously flawed assumption. The vast majority of working poor who work two jobs to put food on the table don't even qualify for Credit Cards. The reason they are poor is because the corporations they work for exploit their labor to make a disproportionately high profit, All so some CEO's wife can buy a $35,000 Louis Vuitton handbag and a $65,000 baby stroller
@mistajames3213 ya know that concept......"don't spend more than you make" seems to be like asking people to stab themselves in the eyes with a fork. I always understood the concept......but people with much higher IQs than I have just can't grasp it
@wakko151 Not really. Like anything else, stealing has an opportunity cost (the cost of your time), and comes with significant risks (incarceration and bodily harm). Even then, the take is often small.
Making money legally (though wealth-building) is more reliable and doesn't carry the risk of a jail sentence. Just don't spend money on stupid shit, invest most of your income in something reliable (i.e. - Canadian real estate), and only ever borrow money to make money.
Poor: Complain about how there is this imaginary gigantic foot of the rich...keeping them poor and holding them back. Rich: Have found a way to work just as hard as the poor, but have made their time worth more...thats it...in a nutshell.
@usnate1 You do not recognize the role of the govt. and its use by the rich to support their agenda at any level - do you? The fact that the executive, judicial and legislative branches of the US govt. have sold out to corporate interests to the detrement of the rest of its citizenry is not something you recognize at all? I think this is where we are in fundamental disagreement. I do not believe in Communism but I do not believe that we are only on this planet to serve corporate interests.
@Animosity2UandU Their agenda IS OUR agenda. Without strength and growth monetarily we WILL be TRULY destitute in years to come. This is not a real recession, the depression was a recession. 9% job loss is laughable. Its horrible and I wish it wasn't so, but if you tell people how to prepare for disaster they just say "Not now, I want to get a BMW, honda, toyota." No matter what their income level is they live above their means.
@usnate1 I am sorry but their agenda is not my agenda. I think a society where the majority of ppl are poorly educated, unhealthy and hopeless is not in my best interest. I disagree w/ you about obsession with purchasing things - my parents drive a 10 yr. old Honda -even tho they could afford something newer- and so do I (becuz I can't - LOL). They taught me not to invest in things that lose value but also that things are not as important as ppl. PPl seem to be missing from your equation.
@Animosity2UandU No I'm for education. But one thing you must have in order to educate completely and well...you must have someone who is willing to learn. Its 17% by the way. 17% are officially poor.I believe this is where we differ the most...I believe in history , and human nature(the path of least resistance) there will always be a certain number of people that "say" that their lives are hard, and say they can't change it. History tells us that ability should govern income and nothing else.
@usnate1 I believe that culture is more important than human nature - if it wasn't why would human beings march off to war with almost certainty of death becuz they have been taught by their culture that it is right even tho survival is the highest human instant. Our society has abandoned its responsibility to create a culture of moral obligation for the acquisition of wealth by any means necessary. This is why the USA is doomed.
@Animosity2UandU Oh i think culture is more IMPORTANT than human nature ,but thats not the question or the argument here. Did you read what I wrote about the Maasai?
@Animosity2UandU Hopeless is a bit much. Have you ever been to a 3rd world nation? I have for a total of 3 years I've passed out food pallets. Example: In africa the Massai tribe have lion problems, on average per village there are 6 or 7 deaths a year from lion attacks. Their way of managing this was to get light brush and twigs in order to make a pile and provide a barrier fence around the perimeter...only it was only a matter of time b4 the lions knocked down an area to gain access.
@Animosity2UandU CONTD: Myself and 4 of my friends had to show them how to throw money together and buy axes from town, and make upright log fences to create a real barrier fence around the village...this speaks to education and human nature...When we started working ONLY 2 out of 60 or so men helped us erect that fence. In that particular village they have yet to have a lion attack or death within the fence. Do you see my point?
@usnate1 Nope - r u saying the Masai are stupid or lazy or what? Is it as a warrior culture where those things would be considered unworthy for a man to do? I don't get your point. You know we are all creatures of habit. Only a small percentage of mankind is innovative and an even smaller percentage has the freedom to do so. I think you are focused on the individual and they may be focused on the group and tradition. In the end, we need each other more than we need "things".
@Animosity2UandU Then you missed the point of the entire story. Massai are not lazy, HUMANS are lazy when taught that they can do nothing for themselves and then accept that idea as a lifestyle. And it is an illogical fallacy to have one's children die to maintain this idea of a warrior mind set. And national geographic is incorrect the strict application of the "warrior" mindset varies from village to village. That story can apply as an encompassing metaphor for a nation.
@usnate1 So the Massai are helpless because they are taught to be that way - is that what you are saying? And we are helpless to throw off the shackles of corporate America becuz we are taught money is the only power that matters. Both are our societies are living under a cloud of helplessness and hopelessness. A slave in a cabin and a slave in a mansion are still both slaves.
@Animosity2UandU SOME are taught that and do well anyway, others are taught that and stay that way for fear of failure or b/c they really do believe that it is pointless to move above your station financially(i dont believe in class per say) b/c there is an gigantic evil boot holding them down ..fairy tale. No there were 2 that helped us throughout the entire task. They will shine and they will be leaders. Leaders reap more benefits....but they also have more stress, burdens and responsibility.
@usnate1 Leaders need followers. If we are all trying to lead then we have anarchy. It takes effort to be a good follower as much as to be a good leader. After all, in a household, if a man is trying to be the man and the woman is trying to be the man then who is going to be the woman? Just like in a household - you need a good leader and good leaders come from a culture that emphasizes service to others not acquisition of money or other goods.
@Animosity2UandU Right so by your logic...a leader(who will work harder just by default) should not be the master of his own destiny. You would take freedom(b/c that is what you are doing) from this man...who has 10,000 employees...67 factories and 3 offices buildings. SOME people don't even follow even to benefit themselves (like when I was in Africa). You cannot make someone decide to be self sufficient.
@usnate1 No we are all masters of our own destinies, at least morally, but without a moral underpinning a leader is a disaster for all those around him whether it is business, govt. or family. Selfish interests are the lowest motivations not the highest and have always proven destructive thruout the course of history.
@Animosity2UandU Once again I would blame the gov before I would blame the rich. The rich can do what they want, but the gov must concede to their existence through their lobbying in order for them to have any say. Do you remember the analog to digital TV crossover? Do you remember the commercials for the switch? Do you know how much thatl cost us? 46 million dollars; just to tell people not to panic about their 'effing TV being off for a whopping 3 days before they got a new TV anyway.
@usnate1 But the govt should be us not imposed upon us by unscrupulous corporations and the rich elite becuz they care nothing about society as a whole. Becuz they lack the necessary morals to be a productive part of society we as citizens must force our govt to regulate them into submission. If you can not rehabilitate a criminal you have to jail him for life, Such is the case with the rich elite they are recalcitrant criminals, who must be regulated into submission.
@Animosity2UandU Right so if they can regulate them...than can regulate us. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Meaning: Do you think(please look at history) that when WE allow them to regulate the rich that somehow they will stop there? Do you know what happens when Gov is involved in your life like that? Try Stalin...thats what happens.
@Animosity2UandU The gov WASTES money...i would be all for gov health care if we weren't spending money like they do? Do you still trust the role of your gov? Do you trust them with your money? Imagine if we took that money they spent on that TV switch campaign alone....cutting the budget. IMAGINE for a moment if they had a talented, competent, business men...running it like a business..b/c if it were a business it WOULD go under. period. That's what I'm against, throwing money away.
@usnate1 you mean like the ones that caused the banking crisis? like the companies who spent 2 billion dollars on a defense system that produced only pretty drawings? do you really want health care administered for profit or loss? isn't that what we already have with insurance companies? there is a role for govt and everything can not and should not be run like a business - since the purpose of a business is to make a profit for its stockholders not to work for the public good.
@Animosity2UandU We are in agreement on surplus gov spending then, correct? As to your comment on the gov shouldn't be ran as a business.t should, there is only one logic when it comes to money, profits and losses.I'd rather have a self sustaining gov...that earns on its own WITHOUT excessive taxation.its possible. Again if they could tax AND spend WELL(not like kids) I'd be up for what they do now. BUT our gov is prob the only gov in the world that can afford to act irresponsibly with money.
@usnate1 Govt is sustained by our taxes not by profits. I believe we can ask for responsible govt. we can not nor should we ask govt to run like a business since more businesses - especially big businesses are willing to do anything to make a profit in the short term since there is no longer a since of longevity in business. This lack of having to be held accountable in any fashion has led to the economic and moral decline of the USA. How do you decide who gets healthcare based on profit !
@Animosity2UandU I would assume sense your Euphoric (never has been up and working properly for a reason) idea...EVERYONE would have a right to health care correct...oh wait the people who actually pay for it can't reap the benefits?
@usnate1 Sounds like you are talking about our current health care system which is run by insurance companies? You pay premiums but you can't get the health care you require and once pass the lifetime cap - you are SOL. It is in the best interest of the insurance companies and their shareholders for you to pay for insurance and never be allowed to actually use it.
@Animosity2UandU If you regulate the wealthy...they will give even less to charity...did you know that bill gates and warren buffet alone give 100 billion in order to fight 10 deadly diseases in their lifetimes. AND we know where its going. Charity is tax deductable, and if I had a choice between the Gov and cancer research...I choose cancer research. Are they still evil? It just doesn't add up...
@usnate1 They have huge fortunes in part because the tax rate has decreased from 70% in 1950s to far less than half of that today! And who pays the difference the poor and the middle class. We gave them corporate welfare and they give us back a little charity - except that theirs is entirely voluntary and if we want some semblance of a govt ours is mandatory. I do not believe the govt is your enemy unless it is ruled by corporate interests,
@Animosity2UandU BUT thats a deceiving statistic entirely...they payed 70% BUT what you are forgetting is the main difference between the 50's and now is the income tax is lower , BUT there are over 100 new taxes ONTOP of the income tax...so they still pay more. I think that politicians believe you & I are both unable to care of ourselves and think. Much of our G thinks that Gun control isn't an infringement on our rights. The G thinks that cops protect us enough but its not the case. 1 example.
@Animosity2UandU Yes....to keep citizens safe and to keep public parks, common areas available and running SAFETY has always been the most important role of the Gov....Look up Calvin Coolidge's presidency. It was called the small government. He is a BIG reason why the roaring 20's was precisely called just that. My theory has been proven to work(once again history) your's has been proven to not work. Just ask Sweden.
@usnate1 The roaring 20's culminated in the Great depression because of rampant speculation in the stock market and the complete lack of regulation thereof! His hands off policies led to a depression only a world war could get us out of -- and return to his policies during the Reagan era and after has led to our recent stock market and banking debacle!
@Animosity2UandU Economics 101: The '29 crash was caused by the exact reason we are in a recession now.People started investing more money than they had in the stock market, using loans from lenders. LIVING ABOVE THEIR MEANS. Eventually the amount of money being traded on the stock market from lenders and the amount of money sitting in shares exceeded the amount of money in circulation at the time. THE SAME THING NOW just a smaller scale. You cannot regulate bad luck and in order to grow=risk
@usnate1 Actually the stock market was rigged and really just a form of unregulated gambling where there was massive insider trading and ponzie schemes and because of the deregulation that has taken place since the 80's it has made its way back to that. In '29 they coerced the avg. person into the stock market by playing on their ignorance and greed. There is a great PBS doc on this made in the 1980's - watch it and you will recognize that we have devolved into the exact same environment.
@Animosity2UandU Jesus- You really are a hardcore conspiracy theorist aren't you!? You see what I did there...That doesn't make any sense though... I assume that documentary was supported by enough people , because if it made true sense then it would have made several documentaries on it. There are prob 100+ documentaries on Bigfoot. There is more evidence to support Bigfoot's existence than that theory too. Right questions. What would people stand to gain in dropping unemployment?.nothing.
@usnate1 Well I have to match you at some hardcore level! LOL. Just check it out first and then make up your mind - it should still be on PBS' web page or at least it was a few months ago. Keep an open mind!
@Animosity2UandU To sum it up. People put too much loan money in the market. Then they tried to take it out of the market and pay off their loans, this made shares decrease in value due to the low number of people still holding shares. Thus stock prices plummeted, ruining everyone's stocks who still had any. Now people don't have the money to pay back their loan. If people don't pay their loans, banks don't have any money. If banks don't have any money, everyone is screwed.
@Animosity2UandU CONTD: that the neighboring villages took it upon themselves to build something similar. There will always be those who acheive and those who do not, those who are resourceful and those who are not, those who take the easy road and those who do not, those who are inherently criminal from those who are law abiding. Its not pretty and it isn't PC, but these are the realities. Those that are mature with money and prepare for the future and those that do not. You cant help everyone
@Animosity2UandU Poor: Complain about how there is this imaginary gigantic foot of the rich...keeping them poor and holding them back. Rich: Have found a way to work just as hard as the poor, but have made their time worth more...thats it...in a nutshell.
@Animosity2UandU I am a doer. I do not wait for someone to tell how to live, or if something can or cannot be done. The people in Africa are so poor and destitute (ya know REAL poverty) that they have demotivated themselves to utter ignorance. They are good people, BUT note that only 2 out many were proactive in helping these foreigners build a fence(this is in the Peace Corps mind you)....this is an example as to self help. Help and support are two different things, and I highly doubt that...
@usnate1 "The people in Africa are so poor and destitute (ya know REAL poverty) that they have demotivated themselves to utter ignorance" Wow -- this sounds a little harsh and not a little bit racist. You could say the same about the working class kids in the UK since 83% of them fail their GCSE's yet African and Asians have a failure rate of 17%. Any group that is marginalized falls into despair and a sense of helplessness.
@Animosity2UandU "Foreign affairs is we take care of ourselves first, ok! We go to Afghanistan, we build a road, we build a school. 2 days later they blow up the road, they blow up the school, we start building the road and school again.... In the meantime, we cant build schools in Alabama, in New Orleans, etc... We are wasting trillions and trillions of dollars.. My doctrine would be BUILD in the USA!" -Donald Trump,a businessman.I don't agree with him fully, BUT his money know how is top notch
@usnate1 Donald Trump - that clown - seriously? He has gone bankrupt three times! He is involved in at least 4 current lawsuits for bilking his investors! Integrity is not in the Donald's vocabulary! PLEASE don't model yourself after that scum!
Tell me how its all tied to corruption. Tell me how its all tied to the Rich Elite families like the Rockafellers and the Rothchilds. Tell me how no matter how high you climb the ladder you always run across people in secret societies which are all enter locking. Tell me that the FED is privately owned. Tell me who owns the largest acres of land in this country and abroad. Tell me that the Rich are to remain Permanently Rich through there plans and deeds. Tell me about the Builderbergers and CFR
@casinohijack I have never been much for the conspiracy theories but as I look at US history from the election of Richard Nixon to the present and talk to ppl in my parent's generation about the steady destruction of those elements in American society that allowed ppl to move up from poverty to the middle class; the destruction of the family farms by Ronald Reagan's loan practices so that the corporations own most of the farm land it does seem that there is some plan at work !
The problem is no that 95% of the population is poor the problem is that is just 1% that controls everithing while the rest are in slave labor working 2 jobs to pay debt when in the 60''s people just needed 1 job to sustain the average American family. There isn't worst blind than the one don't wanna see we say back home and Americans just don't wanna see what they become.
@Jzone527 Right, & education is the way to true financial freedom. That 1% you spoke of didn't make the 95% go into debt. 95% does what they learn from observation(parents)etc.Being financially stable is learned. Only 3% of america's wealth is inherited wealth. 3%, thats it. Do you think A-Rod deserves $30 Million per year for hitting a ball 26% of the time? I don't but someone is willing to pay for that. Gates & Buffet give $100,000,000,000 for diseases a year more than you and I do.
@Jzone527 What 1%? Its fun for bedtime stories, but conspiracy theories don't add up 9/10 times. Even if it is true, there is one basic premise that you're missing....All people don't possess the same abilities. Whether it be mentally, psychologically/emotionally, or physically. You and I wouldn't know where to start in running a fortune 500 corporation(that happens to give people in vast numbers jobs, by the way). What do you do for a living?
@inkey2 No 95% of americans aren't poor, but not necessarily wealthy...and I do use "%95" loosely it isn't an exact figure. I was speaking in generalities.
@usnate1 Well using 95% is just absurd and weakens your arguement. The vast majority of Americans are working or middle class.....that is hardly poor by anyones standards. And the people who are poor pretty much "choose to be so" by having too many children and chosing drugs over hard work. Americas poor are the richest poor on earth......
@BillKiernan I travel the world and I bring my house with me on one of those trucks you see that says "wide load". Then on another truck I bring some sod and I have a yard I can just roll out. I set it all up in a parking lot somwhere and it feels just like home because it is.
you americans have only yourselves to blame, now that the rest of the third world is getting richer by the minute, you guys would finally know what it feels like to live under there shoes for a few decades.
Americans make up 5% of the worlds population but uses up 25% of its resources. Wasteful yanks
@KoolJayJ And you're In Australia ? Just wait until Indonesia invades you.I hope to God the US military doesn't lift a finger ! Let the Muslims take you over just a matter of time.Your neighbor has over 200,000 devout Muslims and their number are rising fast. Study the Q'uran and maybe you will survive.
@wolftreetree no you wasn't, america hasn't been an industrious country ever since they discovered cheap labor in third world nations
you mostly import, its been that way for decades, all your factories have been closed down and shipped overseas since the 80's. The 25% of resrouces is wasted by your OWN Citizens wasteful attitude.
@KoolJayJ yes, we use 25% of the worlds resources but we have to PAY for them. People are getting very rich off us. What do you think will happen to the worlds economy if the USA goes down. It will cause a mass world wide depression. When one of the worlds biggest consumers stops consuming millions will be out of jobs
@inkey2 .... what about Russia, India & China? The population of these countries are huge. They may be able to survive ok by just trading amongst themselves if the USA goes down. It's terrible witnessing what the USA is becoming these days. Decades ago, it was the number 1 country that everyone else in the world envied and wanted to come to.
I watched your video and I really understand your frustration. If you want to make Bank of America pay for what they did to you, and thousands of others, you should watch this guy's video;
DEADLY BLOW ! TO Bank of America
You should contact this guy, he is really serious.
ay man.yourmright about this video but money isnthe root of all evil.it will complicate your life and to get it u have to invest in the bad.your only investing in something bad that you dont know about.go ahead andmake a cd but if you think buyingmore items is gonna help its not.it only causesmore cheap labor.those that work at sweatshops? and then another economical collapse.so its not natural.they steal from the poor cuz they are ignorant...and thats not ok when it creates more racism n shit
@KKKSuperFan It's not a matter for us to decide. The way I see it is that the poor should be taxed less so that they can survive and rise up. When I make money, I will gladly support those that need it, but I will not tolerate this attitude that poor people deserve the money of the "rich." The rich didn't get rich just out of nowhere. If it was so easy to be rich, why do lottery winners and sports players often become poor and worse off? It's about a lot more than just money.
Most people in America will always be poor or living check to check due to humans being social animals. Most people buy stuff to impress people and be accepted by the collective around them instead of fulling their financial destiny. It shouldn't be a surprise that some the wealthiest people you will meet are college-educated in their 40s and up who never had kids, nor married and can probably count all the people they know on one hand.
EXACTLY !!!!! this is WHAT ISLAM STOPS !!! INTEREST BUSINESS, SO PEOPLE CAN MAKE THEIR LIVING ON THEIR OWN, INSTEAD OF BORROWING MONEY ON INTEREST AND KEEP ON PAYING BACK UNTIL THEY DIE !!!!, AND THIS IS WHY THEY HATE ISLAM AND SPREAD WRONG INFO ABOUT IT !!!! BUT YEAH, THE TRUTH IS NO ONE STAY AT EMPIRE FOR EVER. VERY GOOD VIDEO TO WAKE PEOPLE UP !!
In Sweden, where i live, a poor person is way richer than i poor person in americe. EVERYBODY has a higher standard-living here- and we dont have any dept.
Usa is poor because all of the dumb and pointless wars.
@HarvardBoxer You've are misguided and have had a faux education. Come back when you can conceive original thought, and not regurgitated, good vs. evil ,conspiracy theory, bed time story lies. Good day.
@HarvardBoxer You're correct. I'd much rather have the Scandanavian societal model wherein you work hard (sometimes more than other people) and get EXACTLY the same welfare state monies that they do....so ostensibly you already know what your ceiling is financially and socially. There is no REAL incentive to succeed and do better than your peers....Where this theory has holes is when you take away incentive...people(naturally)lapse into mediocrity.
BANK OF AMERICA IS THE MOST CORRUPT BANK IN THE COUNTRY!. Bank of America harassed me, ruined my credit, charged me over $800 in fees over a 10 day period, tried to humiliate me, and never stopped calling my house- all because of $50 overdraft!!
In one day I was charged over $250 in overdraft fees because of a company that took advantage of my bank account- BofA charges more fees than any bank in the World!
Corporate welfare? Last I knew, corporations paid people with this money. I'm going to school so that I can get a job. Please explain to me why you will then hate me when I make money?
@rextony22@rextony22 why because they got off their ass & figured out how to work the system?? many of us slobs don't realize YOU NEED TO STOP BITCHING; & START GETTING ON BOARD. Or are you gonna cry to the govn't to punish the naughty rich ppl? THE WEALTHY WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO DIVERT THEIR MONEY into another shelter or program to "reduce their income" & avoid any new penalty taxes the gov. tries. All it does is come back & punish us when they can't get enuf from teh rich, you idiots.
@rextony22 There are lots of bad examples what happens when you start taxing everything extra that someone might earn with hard work, it would only work against everyone who wants to earn more and make people want to slack around and get money from the goverment or what ever. You dont want to end up in a situation where for example there is no point in starting any new business since they will get too high taxes and then they cant manage nonononoo.
@rextony22 They deserved it? LOL. Okay thats smart, lets just tax, regulate, and implement laws to make it harder on the rich so that they will outsource to other nations thus leaving Americans who need jobs wanting. Oh wait, what you just described is the reason they outsourced...IN THE FIRST PLACE.
@usnate1 We have not taxed and regulated for almost 30 years and American companies have steadily outsourced. When there was more regulation, higher corporate taxes and higher tariffs - we had less unemployment, 80% of goods used in America were made in America and there was a thriving middle class. It is funny to me that right wingers keep bringing out this old chestnut when if it were true we would better off than we were 30 years ago not worse off.
@Animosity2UandU I'm not a right winger...but I KNOW that you are a left winger. But thanks for being presumptuous. Libertarian. NOT THE SAME, look it up. These terms no longer mean what they did 50 or even 100 years ago anyway. If you knew what it took to become wealthy you would change your tune VERY quickly. B/c then it would effect you adversely too. At least my ideology minds my own business and makes it so those that are capable can and do become rich, thus STIMULATING the economy.
@usnate1 Ah so this is what you mean about stereotypes but I hate to tell you this if you label yourself as a libertarian rather than a libertarian socialist I can only assume that you do not believe in regulation of business at any level. Which is generally a far right view. If I am mistaken in this assumption - you have my apologies.
@Animosity2UandU No a Liberatarian MEANS basically....socially I believe in minding your own business, let people do what makes them happy. BUT fiscally the only way an economy works is to leave it alone, and i find it ironic that most liberals say that they are into freedom of choice, but when its the wealthy(b/c their just evil) they have no problem limiting them....unfortunately in this situation you cannot have your cake and eat it too.
Chasing money is the American way. It's a rotten existense in our "dog eat dog" world. Even when you make pretty good pay, you are still one illness or a pinkslip from desperation. My brother in-law is a Narcotics Detective. He truly feel bad when busting a lot of the "dealers". Many are single moms who sell a little dope to keep the power on and food in the fridge at the end of the month. They are NOT criminals. Most would never sell to young people. Capitalism is rough...
Your brother-in-law is a narcotics detective? How about arresting the CIA agency for drug smuggling as well as your American government for being complicit. You must know that the CIA make money from drugs in Afghanistan. And you must know that while the American government has a war on drugs, it also deals in drugs unofficialy. Tell your narcotics detective how does it feel to just play the game: arresting drug dealers on the streets when the real big time dealers are the CIA and government.
I aggree. American culture persistently trains it's contingents to want things that the majority of them can't attain, and strongly conditions them to see themselves as faliures if they are unable to attain the status and wealth needed to successfuly conform to this model, which, needless to say, is unrealistic. It's pursuit has been the cause of so many ills.
@randy109 Capitalism is rough..you're correct, however every other ideology is ROUGHER. Unlearning what people know about money(and what your parents have taught you about money ) is key. It is lazy to sell drugs...just b/c people are poor doesn't mean they have to /do sell drugs. I have grandparents who grew up DIRT-POOR, even poorer than most today. None of them did illegal things to justify putting food on the table. Many things happen in between being poor and selling drugs.
@usnate1 How do you know have you lived under any other ideology? And capitalism when not tempered by appropriate regulation and oversight turns life into a dog eat dog existence. If you don't believe it - then revisit the USA of the 1800's and 1900's. This is the world that successive conservative US governments are trying to return us to and stupid Americans keep voting away all the hard fought gains of their ancestors! to help them do so.
@Animosity2UandU Lived in Germany for 3 years and Israel for 2. So yes...Conservatism doesn't mean the same thing anymore, thus people still vote "Conservative" thinking that is the same ideology. Liberalism doesn't account for everyone...if it did then there would be no need for conservatives. Secondly I'm a Libertarian(socially liberal, I mind my own business and believe in true genuine freedom). but fiscally conservative(ya know those things called MATH and investment wisdom).
@usnate1 And germany and Israel both are under capitalism, BUT they are social monarchies in a sense. And I need only look at the courtries with socialist and communist pasts to see how well they work....We must study history lest we are doomed to repeat it.
@usnate1 As you say Germany is not like the USA - for instance when the giant labor exploiter - Walmart - attempted to apply the same labor policies there that they had in the USA they were very pointedly slapped upside the head - and eventually sold out to a German firm even though WalMart was making a substantial profit there but just becuz they prefer an environment like the USA's (and China's) where workers not much more than dogs they decided to leave. Capitalism without control is HELL!
@Animosity2UandU The beauty of capitalism is that if you don't like working for one place it is relatively EASY to go work somewhere else. Secondly human nature does not allow "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." B/c a Dr. WON'T go to school for a decade just to reap the same benefit as a carpenter. PERIOD.
@Animosity2UandU How to b wealthy. Society says the only way to buy a house is to have credit, get a loan(30 years) and to pay on it until the loan reaches its conclusion. WRONG WAY TO DO IT: Why? With standard interest rates a financial institution offers for a home that cost $150,000 U.S> by the end of the 30 yrs. do you know how much you'll pay for that home....on average of $283,000U.S. !!! Average house payment is $1,300 a month for that house. So if you were to rent for $800....
@Animosity2UandU CONTD: of what you pay renting and what you would pay anyway owning a home...and invest JUST that for 13 years at 12%interest(payed to you mind you not to someone else) in a high yield mutual fund with a good track record...on average you would have somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.2 million U.S. Discipline and living BELOW your means is the only way to become wealthy for those who haven't invented something that people will pay millions for...period. I'm 28 and on my way.
@Animosity2UandU Thirdly, you cannot regulate prosperity...if you do then you are doomed to repeat history....wherein you will have no incentive to do better and human nature says we will all eventually lapse into mediocrity. The steam engine, Light bulb, refrigerator, elevator, jet engine etc. ALL would've not been invented had there not been a system that rewards those who innovate and discover these things. U.S. economic theory is based on that principle, this is why we grow.
@usnate1 Well we haven't been growing lately and I don't pay rent or a mortgage becuz I live in one of the homes owned by my family. Those high yield mutual funds are not worth dick if there is no regulation of the securities or banking industry. After all, it was ppls trust in the "safety" of USA's mortgages that has led not only US investors but the entire world to the brink of economic disaster. I think are so brainwashed by Conservative hoo-haa that they forget the formidable (cont.)
@Animosity2UandU If you lose your job and then have NO REAL investments(relying on others to plan your future for you) then you are going to lose. Period. That is the difference between the rich and the poor....IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MORALITY. I care for my children MORE than I do yours, and visa versa correct? So how is it evil to prepare for their future in such a way so that whatever someone else decisions make up THEIR future?
@Animosity2UandU I DISAGREE TO THE UTMOST: The reason we have had this so called economic disaster...is b/c people were living ABOVE their means. So when the bottom falls out...they lose jobs. Its not conservative hoo haa(insinuating a lie correct?). To bad that lie has been put into practice, and now I'm halfway between middle class and wealthy....I'M ONLY 28.
@usnate1 I hate to tell you this but for some ppl living within their means would mean starving like a dog in the street and living in a cardboard. The economic landscape of the USA has been so skewed toward rich and greedy corporations that it is becoming almost impossible to live within your means. I am lucky because my family already owned property and other substantial resources but they in essence bought my way into the middle class if they had not I would be like many of my friends(cont)
1) You cannot always control money input...you can eventually, but not right away. 2) Money Output is ALWAYS controllable...3) Investments and Savings run on a snowball effect. The more you put in the bigger it gets. The longer you don't touch investment money...the quicker you will become financially free. 4) Live below your means..which is the behavior thing that you should continue regardless of your current financial status. It must become HABIT.5) SELF-DISCIPLINE...!!
@usnate1 You are talking old school principles that I learned from my Dad but you are not getting my point ( I think on purpose). You can not live within your means if the basics needed for survival are above your means. In a vibrant economy - working two jobs - as sad as that may be would allow you to at least survive but many in the USA can not find one job - let alone two and you have to have an EXCESS to practice the principles that you are speaking of.
@Animosity2UandU 1) You cannot always control money input...you can eventually, but not right away.
@Animosity2UandU Yes, but why are certain living in poverty for 45 years...its not completely education. Often time it is emotional, people just don't have what it takes emotionally and lack the courage to go and do for themselves. Why I know? I've worked 4 types of construction, warehousing, fixed jets, fast food..1 thing all of these jobs have in common...there is ALWAYS a group of people standing in a circle smoking cigs..complaining about how they can't make and they'll never be rich.
@usnate1 I disagree. It is a combination of a country that has been sold to the highest bidder and an educational system that has been and is being decimated. My parents often lamented having to pay for things like music lessons, dance lessons, tutors and even drivers ed that they said was free to everyone in the 60s. It is those things (along with the Civil Rights movement) that allowed them to rise out of an impoverished Southern background. In today's climate, it is almost impossible.
@Animosity2UandU THAT IS NOT TRUE...I just gave you the short version of my life. I am a living, breathing example of how you can come from nothing financially and become something. And the government USED to do all of those things you just mentioned...blame the gov, not the rich.
@Animosity2UandU saddled with crushing debt from student loans and given that in the area where I live a one bdrm apt. can easily run you $1200 a month not to mention the cost of a car since public transportation is limited and unreliable - you have to already have money or be contractor in the high tech industry working mainly for govt agencies.
@Animosity2UandU And don't you ever presume to tell me what it is to be poor. Its rude sir/madam. I've lived in South Boston and Easpoint Atlanta. I've lived in a church and in my car for a time. Thats your problem, you feel that financial status has something to do with morality. Poor =good, Rich= Evil....do you know how asinine that sounds? I did 6 years in the miliatary, KILLED MYSELF through college and am now into real estate and I own personal care homes for mentally handicapped adults.
@usnate1 Don't tell me what I think becuz you are wrong! There is a moral use of money and power and there are immoral uses of it! There was once a belief in a fair profit and a fair wage and now there is just unabated greed which is completely destructive of a civilized society. In this environment, no matter how much you deregulate or lower taxes or lower environmental standards - the greedy corporations will never be satisfied. You have to demand that corporations be good citizens (cont)
@Animosity2UandU not just greedy denizens sucking their fellow citizens dry with no respect for the consequences to the society in the long run. This is where we have gone wrong and this is what will destroy the USA!
@Animosity2UandU Me being a hardcore right winger is the stereotype i felt you spat at me(maybe i was wrong). "I love to see people poor(even thought half of the poor populous are there b/c of themeselves in the 1st place)". "It satisfies me", really? A little extreme. If you think that way, then you will fall into the trap of using emotion instead of logic to come to your conclusions. Capitalism provides the latitude in order to prosper. Nobody said it was easy. But at least u have a shot.

Got milk!

@mistajames3213 Best way to make money is to steal it from others. Then its 100% profit. That is what they don't tell you.
wakko151 5 days ago
@wakko151 Not really. Like anything else, stealing has an opportunity cost (the cost of your time), and comes with significant risks (incarceration and bodily harm). Even then, the take is often small.
Making money legally (though wealth-building) is more reliable and doesn't carry the risk of a jail sentence. Just don't spend money on stupid shit, invest most of your income in something reliable (i.e. - Canadian real estate), and only ever borrow money to make money.

Poor: Complain about how there is this imaginary gigantic foot of the rich...keeping them poor and holding them back. Rich: Have found a way to work just as hard as the poor, but have made their time worth more...thats it...in a nutshell.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 You do not recognize the role of the govt. and its use by the rich to support their agenda at any level - do you? The fact that the executive, judicial and legislative branches of the US govt. have sold out to corporate interests to the detrement of the rest of its citizenry is not something you recognize at all? I think this is where we are in fundamental disagreement. I do not believe in Communism but I do not believe that we are only on this planet to serve corporate interests.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Their agenda IS OUR agenda. Without strength and growth monetarily we WILL be TRULY destitute in years to come. This is not a real recession, the depression was a recession. 9% job loss is laughable. Its horrible and I wish it wasn't so, but if you tell people how to prepare for disaster they just say "Not now, I want to get a BMW, honda, toyota." No matter what their income level is they live above their means.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 I am sorry but their agenda is not my agenda. I think a society where the majority of ppl are poorly educated, unhealthy and hopeless is not in my best interest. I disagree w/ you about obsession with purchasing things - my parents drive a 10 yr. old Honda -even tho they could afford something newer- and so do I (becuz I can't - LOL). They taught me not to invest in things that lose value but also that things are not as important as ppl. PPl seem to be missing from your equation.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU No I'm for education. But one thing you must have in order to educate completely and well...you must have someone who is willing to learn. Its 17% by the way. 17% are officially poor.I believe this is where we differ the most...I believe in history , and human nature(the path of least resistance) there will always be a certain number of people that "say" that their lives are hard, and say they can't change it. History tells us that ability should govern income and nothing else.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 I believe that culture is more important than human nature - if it wasn't why would human beings march off to war with almost certainty of death becuz they have been taught by their culture that it is right even tho survival is the highest human instant. Our society has abandoned its responsibility to create a culture of moral obligation for the acquisition of wealth by any means necessary. This is why the USA is doomed.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Oh i think culture is more IMPORTANT than human nature ,but thats not the question or the argument here. Did you read what I wrote about the Maasai?
usnate1 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Hopeless is a bit much. Have you ever been to a 3rd world nation? I have for a total of 3 years I've passed out food pallets. Example: In africa the Massai tribe have lion problems, on average per village there are 6 or 7 deaths a year from lion attacks. Their way of managing this was to get light brush and twigs in order to make a pile and provide a barrier fence around the perimeter...only it was only a matter of time b4 the lions knocked down an area to gain access.
usnate1 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU CONTD: Myself and 4 of my friends had to show them how to throw money together and buy axes from town, and make upright log fences to create a real barrier fence around the village...this speaks to education and human nature...When we started working ONLY 2 out of 60 or so men helped us erect that fence. In that particular village they have yet to have a lion attack or death within the fence. Do you see my point?
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Nope - r u saying the Masai are stupid or lazy or what? Is it as a warrior culture where those things would be considered unworthy for a man to do? I don't get your point. You know we are all creatures of habit. Only a small percentage of mankind is innovative and an even smaller percentage has the freedom to do so. I think you are focused on the individual and they may be focused on the group and tradition. In the end, we need each other more than we need "things".
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Then you missed the point of the entire story. Massai are not lazy, HUMANS are lazy when taught that they can do nothing for themselves and then accept that idea as a lifestyle. And it is an illogical fallacy to have one's children die to maintain this idea of a warrior mind set. And national geographic is incorrect the strict application of the "warrior" mindset varies from village to village. That story can apply as an encompassing metaphor for a nation.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 So the Massai are helpless because they are taught to be that way - is that what you are saying? And we are helpless to throw off the shackles of corporate America becuz we are taught money is the only power that matters. Both are our societies are living under a cloud of helplessness and hopelessness. A slave in a cabin and a slave in a mansion are still both slaves.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU SOME are taught that and do well anyway, others are taught that and stay that way for fear of failure or b/c they really do believe that it is pointless to move above your station financially(i dont believe in class per say) b/c there is an gigantic evil boot holding them down ..fairy tale. No there were 2 that helped us throughout the entire task. They will shine and they will be leaders. Leaders reap more benefits....but they also have more stress, burdens and responsibility.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Leaders need followers. If we are all trying to lead then we have anarchy. It takes effort to be a good follower as much as to be a good leader. After all, in a household, if a man is trying to be the man and the woman is trying to be the man then who is going to be the woman? Just like in a household - you need a good leader and good leaders come from a culture that emphasizes service to others not acquisition of money or other goods.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Right so by your logic...a leader(who will work harder just by default) should not be the master of his own destiny. You would take freedom(b/c that is what you are doing) from this man...who has 10,000 employees...67 factories and 3 offices buildings. SOME people don't even follow even to benefit themselves (like when I was in Africa). You cannot make someone decide to be self sufficient.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 No we are all masters of our own destinies, at least morally, but without a moral underpinning a leader is a disaster for all those around him whether it is business, govt. or family. Selfish interests are the lowest motivations not the highest and have always proven destructive thruout the course of history.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Once again I would blame the gov before I would blame the rich. The rich can do what they want, but the gov must concede to their existence through their lobbying in order for them to have any say. Do you remember the analog to digital TV crossover? Do you remember the commercials for the switch? Do you know how much thatl cost us? 46 million dollars; just to tell people not to panic about their 'effing TV being off for a whopping 3 days before they got a new TV anyway.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 But the govt should be us not imposed upon us by unscrupulous corporations and the rich elite becuz they care nothing about society as a whole. Becuz they lack the necessary morals to be a productive part of society we as citizens must force our govt to regulate them into submission. If you can not rehabilitate a criminal you have to jail him for life, Such is the case with the rich elite they are recalcitrant criminals, who must be regulated into submission.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago

@Animosity2UandU Right so if they can regulate them...than can regulate us. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Meaning: Do you think(please look at history) that when WE allow them to regulate the rich that somehow they will stop there? Do you know what happens when Gov is involved in your life like that? Try Stalin...thats what happens.
usnate1 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU The gov WASTES money...i would be all for gov health care if we weren't spending money like they do? Do you still trust the role of your gov? Do you trust them with your money? Imagine if we took that money they spent on that TV switch campaign alone....cutting the budget. IMAGINE for a moment if they had a talented, competent, business men...running it like a business..b/c if it were a business it WOULD go under. period. That's what I'm against, throwing money away.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 you mean like the ones that caused the banking crisis? like the companies who spent 2 billion dollars on a defense system that produced only pretty drawings? do you really want health care administered for profit or loss? isn't that what we already have with insurance companies? there is a role for govt and everything can not and should not be run like a business - since the purpose of a business is to make a profit for its stockholders not to work for the public good.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU We are in agreement on surplus gov spending then, correct? As to your comment on the gov shouldn't be ran as a business.t should, there is only one logic when it comes to money, profits and losses.I'd rather have a self sustaining gov...that earns on its own WITHOUT excessive taxation.its possible. Again if they could tax AND spend WELL(not like kids) I'd be up for what they do now. BUT our gov is prob the only gov in the world that can afford to act irresponsibly with money.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Govt is sustained by our taxes not by profits. I believe we can ask for responsible govt. we can not nor should we ask govt to run like a business since more businesses - especially big businesses are willing to do anything to make a profit in the short term since there is no longer a since of longevity in business. This lack of having to be held accountable in any fashion has led to the economic and moral decline of the USA. How do you decide who gets healthcare based on profit !
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU I would assume sense your Euphoric (never has been up and working properly for a reason) idea...EVERYONE would have a right to health care correct...oh wait the people who actually pay for it can't reap the benefits?
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Sounds like you are talking about our current health care system which is run by insurance companies? You pay premiums but you can't get the health care you require and once pass the lifetime cap - you are SOL. It is in the best interest of the insurance companies and their shareholders for you to pay for insurance and never be allowed to actually use it.

It just doesn't add up...
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 They have huge fortunes in part because the tax rate has decreased from 70% in 1950s to far less than half of that today! And who pays the difference the poor and the middle class. We gave them corporate welfare and they give us back a little charity - except that theirs is entirely voluntary and if we want some semblance of a govt ours is mandatory. I do not believe the govt is your enemy unless it is ruled by corporate interests,
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU BUT thats a deceiving statistic entirely...they payed 70% BUT what you are forgetting is the main difference between the 50's and now is the income tax is lower , BUT there are over 100 new taxes ONTOP of the income tax...so they still pay more. I think that politicians believe you & I are both unable to care of ourselves and think. Much of our G thinks that Gun control isn't an infringement on our rights. The G thinks that cops protect us enough but its not the case. 1 example.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Jesus - you really are a hard core libertarian! Does govt have any function as far as you are concerned (besides the Dept. of Defense)?
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Yes....to keep citizens safe and to keep public parks, common areas available and running SAFETY has always been the most important role of the Gov....Look up Calvin Coolidge's presidency. It was called the small government. He is a BIG reason why the roaring 20's was precisely called just that. My theory has been proven to work(once again history) your's has been proven to not work. Just ask Sweden.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 The roaring 20's culminated in the Great depression because of rampant speculation in the stock market and the complete lack of regulation thereof! His hands off policies led to a depression only a world war could get us out of -- and return to his policies during the Reagan era and after has led to our recent stock market and banking debacle!
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Economics 101: The '29 crash was caused by the exact reason we are in a recession now.People started investing more money than they had in the stock market, using loans from lenders. LIVING ABOVE THEIR MEANS. Eventually the amount of money being traded on the stock market from lenders and the amount of money sitting in shares exceeded the amount of money in circulation at the time. THE SAME THING NOW just a smaller scale. You cannot regulate bad luck and in order to grow=risk
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Actually the stock market was rigged and really just a form of unregulated gambling where there was massive insider trading and ponzie schemes and because of the deregulation that has taken place since the 80's it has made its way back to that. In '29 they coerced the avg. person into the stock market by playing on their ignorance and greed. There is a great PBS doc on this made in the 1980's - watch it and you will recognize that we have devolved into the exact same environment.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Jesus- You really are a hardcore conspiracy theorist aren't you!? You see what I did there...That doesn't make any sense though... I assume that documentary was supported by enough people , because if it made true sense then it would have made several documentaries on it. There are prob 100+ documentaries on Bigfoot.

Jzone527 9 months ago
@Jzone527 Right, & education is the way to true financial freedom. That 1% you spoke of didn't make the 95% go into debt. 95% does what they learn from observation(parents)etc.Being financially stable is learned. Only 3% of america's wealth is inherited wealth. 3%, thats it. Do you think A-Rod deserves $30 Million per year for hitting a ball 26% of the time? I don't but someone is willing to pay for that. Gates & Buffet give $100,000,000,000 for diseases a year more than you and I do.
usnate1 9 months ago

It shouldn't be a surprise that some the wealthiest people you will meet are college-educated in their 40s and up who never had kids, nor married and can probably count all the people they know on one hand.

usnate1 7 months ago

At least my ideology minds my own business and makes it so those that are capable can and do become rich, thus STIMULATING the economy.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Ah so this is what you mean about stereotypes but I hate to tell you this if you label yourself as a libertarian rather than a libertarian socialist I can only assume that you do not believe in regulation of business at any level. @Animosity2UandU No a Liberatarian MEANS basically....socially I believe in minding your own business, let people do what makes them happy. Capitalism is rough...
randy109 2 years ago 24

It's pursuit has been the cause of so many ills.
ccmm53095 1 year ago
@randy109 Capitalism is rough..you're correct, however every other ideology is ROUGHER. Unlearning what people know about money(and what your parents have taught you about money ) is key. It is lazy to sell drugs...just b/c people are poor doesn't mean they have to /do sell drugs. I have grandparents who grew up DIRT-POOR, even poorer than most today. None of them did illegal things to justify putting food on the table. Many things happen in between being poor and selling drugs.
usnate1 9 months ago
@usnate1 How do you know have you lived under any other ideology? And capitalism when not tempered by appropriate regulation and oversight turns life into a dog eat dog existence. If you don't believe it - then revisit the USA of the 1800's and 1900's. This is the world that successive conservative US governments are trying to return us to and stupid Americans keep voting away all the hard fought gains of their ancestors! to help them do so.
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Lived in Germany for 3 years and Israel for 2. So yes...Conservatism doesn't mean the same thing anymore, thus people still vote "Conservative" thinking that is the same ideology. Liberalism doesn't account for everyone...if it did then there would be no need for conservatives. Secondly I'm a Libertarian(socially liberal, I mind my own business and believe in true genuine freedom). but fiscally conservative(ya know those things called MATH and investment wisdom).
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 And germany and Israel both are under capitalism, BUT they are social monarchies in a sense. And I need only look at the courtries with socialist and communist pasts to see how well they work....We must study history lest we are doomed to repeat it.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 As you say Germany is not like the USA - for instance when the giant labor exploiter - Walmart - attempted to apply the same labor policies there that they had in the USA they were very pointedly slapped upside the head - and eventually sold out to a German firm even though WalMart was making a substantial profit there but just becuz they prefer an environment like the USA's (and China's) where workers not much more than dogs they decided to leave. Capitalism without control is HELL!
Animosity2UandU 7 months ago

So if you were to rent for $800....
usnate1 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU CONTD: of what you pay renting and what you would pay anyway owning a home...and invest JUST that for 13 years at 12%interest(payed to you mind you not to someone else) in a high yield mutual fund with a good track record...on average you would have somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.2 million U.S. Discipline and living BELOW your means is the only way to become wealthy for those who haven't invented something that people will pay millions for...period. I'm 28 and on my way.
usnate1 7 months ago
@Animosity2UandU Thirdly, you cannot regulate prosperity...if you do then you are doomed to repeat history....wherein you will have no incentive to do better and human nature says we will all eventually lapse into mediocrity. The steam engine, Light bulb, refrigerator, elevator, jet engine etc. ALL would've not been invented had there not been a system that rewards those who innovate and discover these things. U.S. economic theory is based on that principle, this is why we grow.
usnate1 7 months ago
@usnate1 Well we haven't been growing lately and I don't pay rent or a mortgage becuz I live in one of the homes owned by my family. So how is it evil to prepare for their future in such a way so that whatever someone else decisions make up THEIR future?
usnate1 7 months ago

@usnate1 I disagree. It is a combination of a country that has been sold to the highest bidder and an educational system that has been and is being decimated. My parents often lamented having to pay for things like music lessons, dance lessons, tutors and even drivers ed that they said was free to everyone in the 60s. It is those things (along with the Civil Rights movement) that allowed them to rise out of an impoverished Southern background. In today's climate, it is almost impossible.
