Between hearing Glenn Ordway without Pete Shepperd, Steve Buckley, Sean McAdam, Bill Burt, or Smerlas/DeOssie/Nelson - and hearing this same finish as called by Gil Santos, my head is spinning.
Thanks for posting this, "1987." A lifelong Celtics fan, I saw this incredible game in person. I taped it at home, but it was HTS channel. That was funny to watch, because Bullets announcers Phil Chenier and Mel something (both good announcers) were all psyched to celebrate, then Bird depresses the living daylights out of them by hitting his 2nd buzzer beater. In a morose voice, Mel drones, "Larry Bird, maybe the best ever." But this way I get to hear great ol' Johnny Most go berserk once more!
Nothing like Sheepman announcing a Bird gamewinner

I used to think Lebron had the ingredients to surpass bird....but Bird is still in the top 3 or 4 players all time.

I heard Larry was actually asleep for this game, and woke up during the post game interview. Dammit he's good.

with today`s rules being so ardently wimpy, Bird and Jordan would average 69 a game !

Why would anyone be surprised by this ? What else would you expect from Larry ?

As great a clutch player as anyone to ever play this game. He was wicked good in crucial moments.
