@marmochip Do you realize how incredibly RARE organic bananas are? It's a sad but true thing, it is nearly impossible to find such unless you live in a tropical enough area or have a neighbor smart enough to grow some in a greenhouse.
I noticed some comments about infertility and the use of NEMAGON pesticides. Can anyone clarify?
I have been having a problem with Dole banas, which is about 3 days after ripening they are turning to mush inside the yellow skin. I breed mousebirds, and a large portion of their diet is bananas, and have also noticed a sharp decrease in fertility in proven pairs, which also coincides with the problem with the Dole bananas
the day dole pays damages to infertile workwers damaged by pesticides maybe i'll be able to watch a little infomercial like this withouth feeling slightly sick...
First of all yes, they work maybe for 2 dollars per day which is sad, but in the same time they have still a better life thanks for dole as the other people in that area...
I think you should record some video of your way of doing it. If its really that much better I think people should know about it.
Or at least put a link into your profile to show your company. I would do that.
no actually the main supply of trees where i live is pine and birch :O not so much jungle and i have a ton of money thats why i dont want to share it. :3 i love my monies too much.
Oh so running 500 kilometres of cable through a small farm is efficient to you. I don't know what country you are from or what drugs you are smoking, but if you came to North
Queensland Australia we would show you how to farm bananas.
everything is recycled...a huge amount of bananas can be harvested by only a few people...they wouldnt do it if it wasnt profitable but i understand what your saying like they make the process look too easy...well its prob true
I worked on banana's for ten years and we had a much more efficient system. It only takes one person to cut and hump a bunch. And we used a tractor and trailer to transport the fruit to the packing shed. But I guess when you're paying your workers $1.50 a day it must be profitable, especially when these enormous companies are drowning the market and dominating the price of fruit.
The cable way seems pretty efficient, and it's low-pollution. It also doesn't bruise the bananas.
As for the "double-handling"... It's just like an assembly line. "The workers focus on a small part of the overall whole, meaning that they do not require extensive training"
Also, you don't have to "re-tool" (so to speak) every few minutes for the next task.
We developped an alternative version of bananagrowing. check out our video, named "Grow your own banana, BanaanTV", you should be able to find it somewhere on our channel. I hope you enjoy it ;-).

I've never seen so much double-handling in my life. How can this method of harvest possibly be cost effective?
