ok buddy, I can tell from your reasoning ancd logic skills you are about 12 so that means i got in my first fist fight back when you were still swimmin around in your daddy's nut sack, there is no point arguing with ignorant people like you, in a street fight if someone doesnt tap it probably wont matter because if they dont, just break it, or choke em out or ect,
San shou and bjj are two complete completely different things, both with different uses.. neither of them is superior to each other, but (in my humble opinion) if i had to chose one martial art to train in, i would choose san shou, because not only does the system have kicks and punches, it also implements grappling aspects (i.e. take downs, sweeps, and throws). You might be thinking...wtf, who does that? Bruce Lee was one of them. His written work, his movies...oh ya, pure street. =)
@simonmafy these words are just letting everyone on here know that you in fact have no clue what your talking about, if your on the ground with someone well versed in grappling and you try a dirty trick, then chances are they are going to do dirty tricks to you, but from a dominant position, "they know how to get there" the last thing you want to do when someone is on top of you is escalate the fight to that extreme, but if your on top and you know how to stay there then by all means
@sharkfinnigan You responding with sucha an answer means you've never been in a street fight. People aren't gonna ask you to tap on the street, they gonna try to REALLY hurt you. It could mean your life. If you're not well versed in ground fighting...what are you gonna do? Let him break you? If you're up against more than one person...what are you gonna do? Continue wrestling and hope his friends won't jump in and kill you? PS: eye gouge and bite works, they get off of you sooo fast.
@simonmafy yes but we can eye gouge and fish hook too. Duh!! And once you escalate the fight like that, I'm not asking for taps anymore. You aim for an eye and I'm pulling arm sockets out with kimoras breaking radius with an arm crusher breaking the joint with an armbar, pulling body crunches to break the spine. At that point its not a fight its now a war and you are talking someone who is trained to maim people vs some moron who will put a finger in your eye.
@Patrickmjett If I ever end up in a fight, it would be a fight for my life. Its either I die or the other person dies. I'll use every known technique to get the person off of me. Not to submit them. This is not the UFC. Besides an arm bar and kimora takes time to pull off on a resisting opponent. I would know, I sparred with alot of BJJ guys. On the streets, if someone tackles me to the ground, its escalated. For a street fight to start, theres alot of hate involved.
dude....... both men r shitty fighters this dont mean shit. it's liek sayins how bout i teach my 9 year old broter sanda and and vs a 15 year old with bjj? lmfao bullshit. i hate these videos on youtube spreadin false propaganda. get a fuckin life dude.
@sharkfinnigan his wrong arm was trapped in the "choke", there was no way for him to apply any thing like the Von Flue technique. He would've had to have been on the other side; jumping to the other side would of almost undoubtedly led to him being rolled, his head being in a bad position to do so. If I had the same grip on an opponent as the bottom man did, I think I could power through a reversal of sorts. Its a wired position, I'm gonna have to try some experimenting in the gym tomorrow.
@sharkfinnigan clearly your knowledge of the vonflue choke is ZERO... vonflue choke works when both arms are FREE... you can't perform vonflue when it's a head and arm guillotine... ARMCHAIR WARRIORS...
@choyleefutkid1 They are not wearing Boxing gloves you idiot. Do you not see their fingers are clearly free? Boxing gloves are bigger, weigh more and rap your entire fist. Those are 4 ounce MMA gloves, not 10 ounce boxing gloves.
@ShatOnATurtle10 First of all genius, those aren't "Boxing gloves", they are MMA gloves that allow your fingers to be free just so you can grapple. Secondly, boxing gloves are 10 ounces in weight and MMA gloves are 4 ounces very light so again, you can grapple.
@kanguesso Oops, my bad. I was mistaken. I only watched the first minute or so, and the video quality didnt help much. But you didnt need to insult me there either, bud.
Who ever posted bjj wouldnt work in a street fight is an idiot.. There is also self defense moves as well.. Get your shit together looser.. It dosent take much to throw a punch or two, close the gap then hip throw the first guy to the ground then work on the next fool...
pra mim o kra do jiu-jitsu madou muito mal, pois na area dele ele demorou muito para finalizar o lutador de sanda,e em nenhum momento soube lutar em sima!
@amfirst real gracie jiu-jitsu has stand up my friend. Im sanshou champion. check out my vids. Its only from jiu jitsu. but i understand your feeling since most jiu-jitsu schools only do ground
poor technique, no passion, no warrior spirit, and by the way insulting others martial arts doesnt make you better, bjj and sanshou are great learn from each other
There are 5 people in the mat aside the two contestants: The referee, the cameraman, one other referee in judo uniform, another 2 guys in street cloth... plus a bunch of folks that were just walking around on the mat...wtf kind of match is this???
@Eatmybologna ok... so how are the current rules fair to san shou? everytime san shou people hit the ground the round restarts, the strategy is completely different...
@Eatmybologna i think both the styles are awsome, but if u were to say san shou is stupid, that is to also say MMA is stupid...don't understand ur reasoning too much.
The Sanshou guy wasnt smart on this one, that was his problem, when they clinched or when the JJ guy went for the guard position on the floor, he should have moved away from the guy...that was his fault, not the marcial art's fault. I know what im saying becouse I practice sanshou and tradicional Kung fu and i have faced ppl who tried to throw me to the floor before
@RockstarAbdalla naw broo . it was inevitable the fight wouldve went to the ground. the guy shouldve learned some basic defence.......and for a guy who practices sanshou you sure speeled martial arts wrng alot
@RockstarAbdalla it's not inevitable, it's just very highly likely. watch all the really old gracie videos where they went against bad ass strikers with virtually no striking ability of their own, still it ALWAYS went to the ground. and from there, nobody knew what to do.
@EbonCrusaderOM82 ............thats actually brazilian jiu jitsu , you can tell by the way soon as the match starts he tries to take it to the groound. you can also tell becuzzz the only jiu jiitsu that would prefer to submit the oponent on the ground then standing up , plus most other forms of jiu jitsu have finishing moves that involve small joint manipulation........which is illegal in most tournaments
BJJ is a great ring fighting sport and street fighting art. I however, prefer to practice something else. No style is invincible is what I have comed to learn. If you rely too much on ground you can get beat standing by someone, if you rely too much on standing you can get beat on the ground. Sometimes it's just one lucky punch from someone who knows nothing. Or sometimes someone is just too elusive to be able to be put in locks. They aren't using strategy, but they are desperate. Can't predict.
I have watched UFC from teh begining. If you do your research and history UFC originally was a marketing engine for BJJ. Notice that there were certain things deemed illegal. The ruleset favors the bjj fighter.
@wiredtoawall I think I do.It is all about maintaining and controlling distance. Its a different story in real life, no rules, vs in a ring. In ring you are not allowed to elbow to back of head, spine, etc.... Street , you better believe your ass, that if you get in close enough for the shoot , I will be going for anything , lethal or not. That is the point that alot of people seem to miss. Rules are there to protect the fighter but in the real world it is about surviving. Nuff said...
@Flyingtart i choose san shou over muay thai any day man because its much more agile and they cover up wrestling ! my gym teaches boxing for the san shou hands ... some san shou gym teaches different types of hands technics
The problem with these challenge matches like in the Gracie In Actions & this one is there held in a training room with plenty of people in the way so it's a distraction for the fighters to not run them over. Just plain stupid. These lookers need to clear out. I would nail one just for the hell of it to show to lay a message to get the hell out of the way.
This just goes to show that Jiu Jitsu is not as effective as a stand alone style. Street you can bite gouge, scrape, tear, whatever it takes. If the jiu jitsu guy even gets entangle d for more than 5 seconds and there is more than 1 attacker, he is screwed. Cool art and all that , but not the most practical in my opinion.
@bowser8375 Which sport is effective against more attackers xS you just have 2 hands and 2 feet... nothing more... But as someone mentioned before, if there are more attackers than 1, you have to do "run-fu" or "gun-fu"...
@FfantasyF That is my whole point. If you are training for sport ( Rules , judges, etc... ) then you are not training for self defense and outside the ring scenario's.
@bowser8375 Ow ok, i get your point now, i thaught you were only speaking about jiu jitsu, sorry:) but ehum, it doesnt agree it isnt usefull at al, you still can use it, but ofc its much harder to defend against more attackers or someone with a knife or gun:) I think we agree at this point xD
@bowser8375 lol? their is no martial art practical verse multiple attackers, and over 80 percent of 1 vs.1 street fights go to the ground. you can bite me, and you better make it a good ass bite, because I will rip your arm off, dislocate it from the shoulder, snap it at the elbow, then I will proceed to choke you unconscious and stomp on your face. that is how these bjj challenges would go in a street fight. don't be an idiot.
@carlsongracieteam yeah yeah sure. Try to shoot on me and you will eat my knee in your face, then wake up in the hospital. Go back to watching UFC on TV boy. Stick to being a couch tough guy k thx bye.
@Bowser666 i wouldn't shoot I would pull guard idiot, and when I was transtioning from x-guard, de le riva, butterfly, upside down, tornado guard, 50/50 guard, playing a complete open guard game, I would over whelm you, and me and you both know it, throwing sub after sub, from transition after transition, from sweep to sweep, technique always wins. You wouldn't know how to escape or what you position/sub you are even in. like I said I might play 50/50 blow your knee out then go to something else
@carlsongracieteam Yeah yeah , ok , enjoy living in your fantasies tough guy. You are pathetic. Best of luck loser. I bet you like rolling around with guys on teh ground. No thanks, I would want you rubbing all on my balls you fag. Go back to the jungle.
@Bowser666 lol, like I said technique will always prevail, me and you both know that, so instead of being intelligent, you will just insult me personally. I'm sorry that obviously I'm far superior to you in every position on the ground, and the clinch. if you don't know what your talking about don't comment, EVERY MMA FIGHTER IN THE WORLD KNOWS BJJ, that's a fact, so they all must be gay like you claim all bjj guys are.
@carlsongracieteam DUde you are superior in your own mind. LIke i said, waste of time talking to you anymore. I also didnt say that all BJJ artists are gay. Just you, since you seem so eager to roll on the ground and clinch with me homo. SO kindly fuck yourself and have a nice day.
@Bowser666 now your not making sense, every bjj guys is excited to roll, and clinch, I overwhelemed you with knowledge and now you are trying to insult me, but the truth is as soon as I exposed you to a de le riva guard with a ball and chain, or a sit up guard, or a butterfly guard, or a deep half guard, or a 50/50 guard, you would be overwhelmed, and the list goes on an on, their are thousands of guards, with thousands of sweeps and subs. war bjj, don't be uneducated and comment on youtube.
@carlsongracieteam You are still here huh ? Hanging out like a hemmoroid. You are still making the assumption that you can get through my defense. Good luck to you. You will eat a shit load of punches and kicks and you will get to the ground of course. However , you will be the only one down there. Taking a little nap. So take your deep throat guard, and assplug guard and all that other stupid shit you are spouting and fuck off for the second time loser. I am not interested your gayfest.
@Bowser666 how am I going to eat punches if I pull guard your an idiot, do even know what pulling guard is? lets not take personal insults to youtube because we fail to be technical, and tbh my striking is probably far superior to yours also.
@carlsongracieteam You have to be in close to pull guard you dumb shit. Legs are longer than arms, so you will get kicked to death , and if you by some miracle get past my legs, then you are in arms length, all before you can pull guard dipshit. If you get past arms, again not going to happen, you will be knocked out by then. You have to deal with throws, sweeps, and a plethora of other locks and holds before even going to ground. So seriously man, shut up. BJJ fanboy loser.
@bowser8375 not if you pull an open guard their slick, like I said you obviously don't know anything I can pull open guard from 50 feet away. you have never stepped on a mat, and honestly I guarantee i'm more versed in striking anyways. just use a stiff jab to get me into the clinch theirs nothing you can do to prevent this from going to the ground one way or another and me and you both know that.
@carlsongracieteam As i said, you are living in a fantasy world. Pure and simple, best of luck in your imaginary world. FUture comments are blocked. SO adios puto. Oh and for the record, you would need to get past my .40 S + W before you even got in range of my feet. Best of luck to you moron.
i can't believe mr. sanda over there let himself get backed in. it's almost like he insisted on keeping the fight on the ground, where he most definitely should know he is at a disadvantage.
No audio, but refs prob saying "stop, stop, reposition"@1:00 when they were in corner. BJJ fighter subtly grabs SS guy by waste @1:02 while ref w/gi makes makes SS guy plant both feet@1:02; no semi sprawl defense like@1:00. So its impossible for SS guy to recover when repositioned at 1:30. SS probably complied to not harm bystanders, giving BJJ guy an unwarranted advantage in clinching phase. Of course BJJ guy is gonna win. Don't get me wrong, BJJ is legit. But there was interference.
At least the San Shou guy wasn't immediately overtaken within the first couple of seconds due to their standing grappling training. When I see stuff like "BJJ vs Kung Fu" or whatever that's usually how it happens.
yeah when i learned about san shou i immediately wanted to see if i could find a bjj vs. ... video. to see if san shou guy would win. but i guess he would only be dominant on the feet.
@phatdeej The great thing is, though, that it looks as if San Shou and Brazilian Jiujitsu would go together even better than most striking arts would due to its throws being a good transition point between the two.
everytime i see bjj vs some other art, when i fast foward right to the end to see the outcome, i already know what happend before i even clicked lol " ohh, theres the armbar lol. " bjj wins, again. lol. bjj guys always get the last laugh. lol
everytime i see bjj vs some other art, when i fast foward right to the end to see the outcome, i already know what happend before i even clicked lol " ohh, theres the armbar lol. " bjj wins, again. lol
@johnmkrs83: The funniest thing about it all to me is that so much of the failure of the other stylists could be avoided if they had the humility to study things like BJJ and learn, for example, what a full mount is and how dangerous a position it is to be in. Knowing that could've saved the match for the San Shou guy.
jiu jitsu = gay kama sutra = sport of gays and weak scared pussies that can't fight like men so they turn it to gay scene on floor....patthetic and useless in real death streetfight against real fighters like me.....
Martial art is theory in tell your in the streets. Martail artist need to adapt to the changes of his are her invironment. There no such thing as a undefeatable person just like there is no such thing as a undefeatable martial art.
its the individual that matters. People are too dumb to realize that a wrestler cant beat a boxer in boxing, A boxer cant be a wrestler in wrestling. So if a wrestler can make a fight a wrestling match, than he wins at what he excels at. The only thing is, if someone is a really great stand up fighter with skill or knowledge enough to avoid take downs or know counters to take downs, they could also win.
BTW, Jiu Jitsu has limitation in street fight with 2 or more enemies. If u cannot take down your 1st enemy in seconds, u will be a dead meat, especially your enemies with weapons. But u still get a chance if u r good boxer, kick boxer, karate, taekwondo or kung fu practitioner!
Why not many genuine good Kung Fu, JKD, karate fighters or even Bruce Lee dared not to attend any formal karate, MMA or UFC combat, tournaments, or 'sports'. It is because JKD, Chinese kung fu and some key karate skills are designed to defeat or even kill your enemies in seconds or very short time, not a spectator sport for TV show! If some major techniques (mostly leathal) are banned by the rules of the game, it decreases the efficiency of their martial arts at least 40% or more!
when it's grappling vs striking, grapplers usually win besides the couple lucky knockouts, but in grappling vs grappling and striking, the grappler will get dominated, it's best to have both
Both grappling and striking is important. In a real fight depend upon how you want to end a fight. If you want it a fight to the death then you have to be skillful in striking. If you just want the opponent handicapped then grappling is essential. (This is also true with locking techniques such as Aikido.)
@lazaga777 well, i guess a bjj practitioner could just decide to choke you to death... or better yet... just break your neck and kill you instantly...
@lazaga777 for sure if you know grappling and striking, then you have a big advantage over the guy who only knows grappling. but i have to disagree with you when you say that if you want a fight to the death, then you have to be skillful in striking. grapplers can just as easily choke you to death or break your neck or spine. in fact, killing someone with strikes is very rare, but a properly applied chokehold is capable of killing 100% of the time.
@aikidoisthebombyeah Rarely. But forbidden strikes really exists. It is usually taught in higher levels of skill usually in China. Only the few knows them because authentic Masters must choose wisely whether or not to teach them to their students. Only a handful of student usually are chosen to be handed down the techniques.
I do also agree that if you know both grappling and striking you have the advantage. But you can't apply grappling effectively to an extremely larger opponent.
Should of mounted, theres no fear of half guard from a Sanshou practitioner.

Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu came from Judo, not Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, it was adapted because of Gracie's weak body(he was ill).

both men seem to lack experience, the vonflue shoulder choke would have easily won the fight after he tried to hold the headlock in from side control
sharkfinnigan 7 months ago
@sharkfinnigan The Von flue choke is hardly a common submission, as not many use that or teach it at all
ShatOnATurtle10 6 months ago
@sharkfinnigan his wrong arm was trapped in the "choke", there was no way for him to apply any thing like the Von Flue technique. He would've had to have been on the other side; jumping to the other side would of almost undoubtedly led to him being rolled, his head being in a bad position to do so. If I had the same grip on an opponent as the bottom man did, I think I could power through a reversal of sorts. Its a wired position, I'm gonna have to try some experimenting in the gym tomorrow.
mjm05010 6 months ago
@sharkfinnigan clearly your knowledge of the vonflue choke is ZERO... vonflue choke works when both arms are FREE... you can't perform vonflue when it's a head and arm guillotine... ARMCHAIR WARRIORS...
aikidoisthebombyeah 6 months ago
I think Sanda and BJJ would be the ultimate combination. It has the hands, elbows, kicks, knees, throws, takedown, and bjj has the ground submission.

@choyleefutkid1 They are not wearing Boxing gloves you idiot. Do you not see their fingers are clearly free? Boxing gloves are bigger, weigh more and rap your entire fist. Those are 4 ounce MMA gloves, not 10 ounce boxing gloves.

ShatOnATurtle10 8 months ago
@ShatOnATurtle10 First of all genius, those aren't "Boxing gloves", they are MMA gloves that allow your fingers to be free just so you can grapple. Secondly, boxing gloves are 10 ounces in weight and MMA gloves are 4 ounces very light so again, you can grapple.

raymondfong92 10 months ago
The Sanshou guy wasnt smart on this one, that was his problem, when they clinched or when the JJ guy went for the guard position on the floor, he should have moved away from the guy...that was his fault, not the marcial art's fault. I know what im saying becouse I practice sanshou and tradicional Kung fu and i have faced ppl who tried to throw me to the floor before
RockstarAbdalla 11 months ago

@RockstarAbdalla it's not inevitable, it's just very highly likely. watch all the really old gracie videos where they went against bad ass strikers with virtually no striking ability of their own, still it ALWAYS went to the ground. and from there, nobody knew what to do.

@EbonCrusaderOM82 ............thats actually brazilian jiu jitsu , you can tell by the way soon as the match starts he tries to take it to the groound. you can also tell becuzzz the only jiu jiitsu that would prefer to submit the oponent on the ground then standing up , plus most other forms of jiu jitsu have finishing moves that involve small joint manipulation........which is illegal in most tournaments
revelation1234 11 months ago
@EbonCrusaderOM82 he's a blue belt. what jjj school u seen with blue belts?
pptine 11 months ago
@pptine all of jjj use blue belts. the dif. from bjj is that between white and blue in jjj there are red yellow orange green.
DrAndreiPopescu 11 months ago
BJJ is a great ring fighting sport and street fighting art. I however, prefer to practice something else. No style is invincible is what I have comed to learn. If you rely too much on ground you can get beat standing by someone, if you rely too much on standing you can get beat on the ground. Sometimes it's just one lucky punch from someone who knows nothing. Or sometimes someone is just too elusive to be able to be put in locks. They aren't using strategy, but they are desperate. Can't predict.
dekal1 11 months ago
I have watched UFC from teh begining. If you do your research and history UFC originally was a marketing engine for BJJ. Notice that there were certain things deemed illegal. The ruleset favors the bjj fighter.
Bowser666 11 months ago
@Bowser666 Anderson silva is a bjj black belt but his style is muay thai he destroed ever single jiujitsu style fighter that faced him.
Shogun Rua is a Chute Box muay thai fighter, he is a black belt in jiujitsu but he always fights standing and that's how he destroys opponents.
Lyoto Machida was a karate fighter who won the ufc belt.
I dont choose san shou over muay thai, ever. Id rather learn both martial arts styles.

@Bowser666 I dont think you understand just how difficult it is to stay away from a grappler when you are a striker
wiredtoawall 11 months ago
@wiredtoawall I think I do.It is all about maintaining and controlling distance. Its a different story in real life, no rules, vs in a ring. In ring you are not allowed to elbow to back of head, spine, etc.... Street , you better believe your ass, that if you get in close enough for the shoot , I will be going for anything , lethal or not. That is the point that alot of people seem to miss. Rules are there to protect the fighter but in the real world it is about surviving. Nuff said...

This just goes to show that Jiu Jitsu is not as effective as a stand alone style. Street you can bite gouge, scrape, tear, whatever it takes. If the jiu jitsu guy even gets entangle d for more than 5 seconds and there is more than 1 attacker, he is screwed. Cool art and all that , but not the most practical in my opinion.
bowser8375 1 year ago
@bowser8375 I completely agree, I have been saying this for years
417BoyWonder 1 year ago
@bowser8375 Which sport is effective against more attackers xS you just have 2 hands and 2 feet... nothing more... But as someone mentioned before, if there are more attackers than 1, you have to do "run-fu" or "gun-fu"...
FfantasyF 1 year ago
@FfantasyF That is my whole point. If you are training for sport ( Rules , judges, etc... ) then you are not training for self defense and outside the ring scenario's.
bowser8375 1 year ago
@bowser8375 Ow ok, i get your point now, i thaught you were only speaking about jiu jitsu, sorry:) but ehum, it doesnt agree it isnt usefull at al, you still can use it, but ofc its much harder to defend against more attackers or someone with a knife or gun:) I think we agree at this point xD
FfantasyF 1 year ago
@bowser8375 lol? their is no martial art practical verse multiple attackers, and over 80 percent of 1 vs.1 street fights go to the ground. you can bite me, and you better make it a good ass bite, because I will rip your arm off, dislocate it from the shoulder, snap it at the elbow, then I will proceed to choke you unconscious and stomp on your face. that is how these bjj challenges would go in a street fight. don't be an idiot.

Bowser666 1 year ago
@Bowser666 lol, like I said technique will always prevail, me and you both know that, so instead of being intelligent, you will just insult me personally. I'm sorry that obviously I'm far superior to you in every position on the ground, and the clinch. if you don't know what your talking about don't comment, EVERY MMA FIGHTER IN THE WORLD KNOWS BJJ, that's a fact, so they all must be gay like you claim all bjj guys are.
carlsongracieteam 1 year ago
@carlsongracieteam DUde you are superior in your own mind. LIke i said, waste of time talking to you anymore. I also didnt say that all BJJ artists are gay. Just you, since you seem so eager to roll on the ground and clinch with me homo. SO kindly fuck yourself and have a nice day.
Bowser666 1 year ago
@Bowser666 now your not making sense, every bjj guys is excited to roll, and clinch, I overwhelemed you with knowledge and now you are trying to insult me, but the truth is as soon as I exposed you to a de le riva guard with a ball and chain, or a sit up guard, or a butterfly guard, or a deep half guard, or a 50/50 guard, you would be overwhelmed, and the list goes on an on, their are thousands of guards, with thousands of sweeps and subs. war bjj, don't be uneducated and comment on youtube.
carlsongracieteam 1 year ago
@carlsongracieteam You are still here huh ? Hanging out like a hemmoroid. You are still making the assumption that you can get through my defense. Good luck to you. You will eat a shit load of punches and kicks and you will get to the ground of course. However , you will be the only one down there. Taking a little nap. So take your deep throat guard, and assplug guard and all that other stupid shit you are spouting and fuck off for the second time loser. I am not interested your gayfest.
Bowser666 1 year ago
@Bowser666 how am I going to eat punches if I pull guard your an idiot, do even know what pulling guard is? lets not take personal insults to youtube because we fail to be technical, and tbh my striking is probably far superior to yours also.
carlsongracieteam 1 year ago
@carlsongracieteam You have to be in close to pull guard you dumb shit. Legs are longer than arms, so you will get kicked to death , and if you by some miracle get past my legs, then you are in arms length, all before you can pull guard dipshit. If you get past arms, again not going to happen, you will be knocked out by then. You have to deal with throws, sweeps, and a plethora of other locks and holds before even going to ground. So seriously man, shut up. BJJ fanboy loser.
bowser8375 11 months ago
@bowser8375 not if you pull an open guard their slick, like I said you obviously don't know anything I can pull open guard from 50 feet away. you have never stepped on a mat, and honestly I guarantee i'm more versed in striking anyways. just use a stiff jab to get me into the clinch theirs nothing you can do to prevent this from going to the ground one way or another and me and you both know that.

But there was interference.
nickwho622 1 year ago

@johnmkrs83: The funniest thing about it all to me is that so much of the failure of the other stylists could be avoided if they had the humility to study things like BJJ and learn, for example, what a full mount is and how dangerous a position it is to be in. Knowing that could've saved the match for the San Shou guy.

its the individual that matters.
Guinea54 1 year ago
BTW, Jiu Jitsu has limitation in street fight with 2 or more enemies. If u cannot take down your 1st enemy in seconds, u will be a dead meat, especially your enemies with weapons. But u still get a chance if u r good boxer, kick boxer, karate, taekwondo or kung fu practitioner!
edistdats 1 year ago
Why not many genuine good Kung Fu, JKD, karate fighters or even Bruce Lee dared not to attend any formal karate, MMA or UFC combat, tournaments, or 'sports'. It is because JKD, Chinese kung fu and some key karate skills are designed to defeat or even kill your enemies in seconds or very short time, not a spectator sport for TV show! If some major techniques (mostly leathal) are banned by the rules of the game, it decreases the efficiency of their martial arts at least 40% or more!
edistdats 1 year ago
@edistdats if strikers can use lethal strikes, so can grapplers. so do you want both guys dead?
juicespirit 1 year ago
when it's grappling vs striking, grapplers usually win besides the couple lucky knockouts, but in grappling vs grappling and striking, the grappler will get dominated, it's best to have both
jewjittsuguy 1 year ago
Both grappling and striking is important. In a real fight depend upon how you want to end a fight. If you want it a fight to the death then you have to be skillful in striking. If you just want the opponent handicapped then grappling is essential. (This is also true with locking techniques such as Aikido.)
lazaga777 1 year ago
@lazaga777 well, i guess a bjj practitioner could just decide to choke you to death... or better yet... just break your neck and kill you instantly...
aikidoisthebombyeah 6 months ago
@aikidoisthebombyeah You got it. But if you want it real quick and sure you should learn the forbidden strikes.
lazaga777 6 months ago
@lazaga777 for sure if you know grappling and striking, then you have a big advantage over the guy who only knows grappling. but i have to disagree with you when you say that if you want a fight to the death, then you have to be skillful in striking. grapplers can just as easily choke you to death or break your neck or spine. in fact, killing someone with strikes is very rare, but a properly applied chokehold is capable of killing 100% of the time.
aikidoisthebombyeah 6 months ago
@aikidoisthebombyeah Rarely. But forbidden strikes really exists. It is usually taught in higher levels of skill usually in China. Only the few knows them because authentic Masters must choose wisely whether or not to teach them to their students. Only a handful of student usually are chosen to be handed down the techniques.
I do also agree that if you know both grappling and striking you have the advantage. But you can't apply grappling effectively to an extremely larger opponent.
lazaga777 6 months ago
