Only a 185+ blocks of TNT put in the SAME EXACT SPOT right next to a block of obsidian will the obsidian blow up. (use mods to put stuff in the same spot) :P

Technically you can't blow up obsidian or bedrock. It has too high a blast resistance, but if you use so much tnt you lag the whole world, and lag it enough that way, it will be destroyed anyway. Our server blew up bedrock once... Too close to my house for comfort :I

In reality surrounding an object with Dynamite will get a similar result. Explosives are much less effective when they surround the object (I know it doesn't work that way in Minecraft). If you strap one bundle of TNT to a normal tree it will blow it in halt. If you completely surround the trunk of the tree with TNT it may only blow off the bark of the tree.

@tpmrpg8137 look it up. there's a thing called "blast resistance".. like, a certain amount of explosive power has to hit one peice of whatever at the EXACT same time and it will explode... I made an 8x8 TNT sphere underground (there was no space in between the TNT and the stone) and blew it up, and the bedrock had a small 4x4 or 3x3 circular hole... but this A: only works on laggy computers and B: is impossible as of 1.8...

Obsidian has a hardness setting of 2000 ingame and dirt has a hardness of 0.5

See if you can work out how much TNT you need for obsidian :D

Obsidian and bedrock can infact be destroyed by tnt , BUT they have alot of blast resistance , you can destroy a piece of bedrock by surrounding every possible block around it with 100 000 tnt blocks in a block and u do that by if u dont already know tnt can be inside tnt when its fuse is lit. So 1 million tnt surrounding bedrock and exploding at the same time can destroy it but nor our computers can handle it nor it is possible to achieve the 1 mill at same place with teh sky limit and redstone

@TheRiffCalendar IT can be destroyed. Even bedrock can be destroyed with TNT, if enough is used. There are no infinite strenghts, even notch stated so, but the amount to destroy one bedrock will crash your computer before half of the tnt will be set off.
