Bunch of Five was just about my favourite record of late 77/early 78... brought mine on spec from a dodgy market trader in Farnborough who had half a dozen copies... wish I'd brought them all!!!
thanks for uploading remember hearing this in 77 it was a brilliant single then but sadly the beeb didnt like it so didnt get the air play it should 'ave but then again they never liked any of the the new bands (punk if you like but they wern't known as punk to start with) coming out at the time..they did have one shining light though tucked away at night who challenged the rubbish they spewed out..the late great john peel..rip..
Had a various artists album years ago and this was on it along with "can I crash here" and another track called "civilization". Bought a best of the Flys cd recently and "civilization" is not on it, gutted as it was my favourite track. If anybody has it could they possibly upload it.
Seen a few coments about the 'Bunch of fives' ep on Youtube, and have the vinyl, but still cant find 'me and my buddies' (my favourite track on the ep) on here. Can anyone out there upload this at all please?
This is a classic i have the Album Suriviors of wakki Beach its a good one I think thats what the album is called could you post we don't mind the rave
bought bunch of five after hearing it on peely.. cant beleive i sold it years ago..n for pennies, not a bad song on the entire ep..can i crash hear.still not dated after 30 odd yrs..
Was always a big fan of the Flys. Eventually saw the guys live at Cardiff uni back in the 70s, Neil was great with me and took me backstage to meet the rest of the guys....fun city..thank you guys, loved your music.
I was a big fan of The Flys and saw them live at Cardiff Uni in the early 80s thin k they were supporting the ramones? the ruts? or maybe the boys were involved? but anyway it was a great set, really tight and I sapoke to Neil later who took me to the dressing room, introduced me to the rest of the guys and had a good old chat with me. Was in my late teens at the time and Neil called me a "fly fanatic". Thank you guys i loved the music...ATB David an old punk rocker..
One of the greatest singles of all time from one of the most underrated bands of punk's second wave. I can vouch for what raymondlang says, they were thrilling live. Three great Peel sessions too, which the useless BBC persists in keeping from us, doubtless demanding an extortionate release fee.
RIP Pete King. Whenever anyone hears those opening beats, you're always there.
This is the first band I ever saw live, and I will NEVER forget their awesome talent playing live. They were supporting John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett around late 70s.
Waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki waikiki...beach refugeeeeeeeeezzzz-cheers brother-classic tune and you're spot on about influences too-75% of the best of todays corking young indie bands sound as if theyve been jetted straight in from 77-78.Back then we were told 'our' music would be forgotten or laughed at within a few years-but here we are 3 decades on & theres No Age,Twisted Wheel,The Filthy Youth,Times New Viking etc-where's tony fuckin blackburn now!!

It is "Father sends his regards to you..."
And, of course, its a Molatov Cocktail.
Its about contact with his mother.

The list of English bands who got no recognition is ever growing. Makes you sick all things considered.

Great tune, one of my favorites. Very catchy, poignant. I wasn't around back then (I'm 27!) but this song speaks to me in profound ways.

No problem.
Sadly, no, but they make up for that in the number of bands they influenced and all that - and besides, it's not an easy tune to top! :]
