  • why do people insist that their styles are better. That doesn't make sense. That's like comparing 9mm pistol's of two different makers. it doesn't fucking matter which style you take. The things that make people better fighters are reaction time, speed, the ability to read into your opponents movements, and makes movements that aren't wasteful. I'll bet if someone who trained to fight all their lives fought someone who never fought but had the aforementioned skills, the rookie would win.

  • you guys all go on talking about different styles one style isnt better than the other you have to learn to adapt if you want to win bruce lee knew that thats why he learned from many sources its not a daily increase its a daily decrease of the non essential stuff

  • I took wing chun for a few years. sparred a boxer and he wooped my ass. i took boxing for a year. and i can now take my friends who were better than me at wing chun easily. it is flashy and looks good in the movies. but if i fought a boxer using wing chun i would fully expect to get laid out. i'll leave wing chun to the comic books and movies!

  • @MegaHelloutube ,you need to know how to apply it,too many kung fu practitioners dont know what techniques to apply,

  • Too many wing chun or any "trapping" practitioners try and force trapping. That's completely backwards. It's like fencing. Don't attack beat the blade unless it's in the way. If it moves back, follow it in and kill the person. Historic use of the rapier was much the same. I've seen people good at it and not good, just like I've seen good wrestlers and bad. ...and I think some people forget the MMA is Mixed Martial Arts. I've seen some good WC in MMA they just don't say that's what it is.

  • I'm not sure why the discussion on the MMA Vs Wing Chun. This video is showing a DRILL to develop certain skills. It's the fighter's understanding, use, and skill in what he had developed and NOT just the system. MMA is great for the ring with the rules in play. Knives thrown into the equation or other people flanking you changes things entirely. The core essence of wing chun is very functional. Too many people throw in lots of "techniques" and get lost in them so it doesn't work.

  • wing chung = bullshit

  • Wise words. I approve.

  • MMA IS WHAT WORKS

  • It's not that "MMA works" it's that Wing Chun doesn't work.

Maybe against untrained brutes at the bar that bullshit might catch them, but against people who have some kind of fight training you're going to get dominated. Especially if the fight goes to the ground, which the vast majority of the time in street fights it does.

  • yhh you've got to have a ground game, like you said most fights go to the ground

  • i don't think this is a "how-to" video, it's a demonstration.

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Fast crap will always be crap....

  • lol yah that's what i was thinking too. He needs to engage and stay close the whole time. He keeps jumping in and out...

  • Actually the harder they hit the farther their hit is deflected, so if you were faster than Tyson you could lay him out

  • Why is this video rated low?

    Hes actually pretty good

  • Very good. Only thing I would say is that your body is moving first, not the fist. Try to eliminate the lean. But very good.

  • you got skills dude!

  • ah but if you look at it as a drill, then the need to hit is taken out. If you hit its over, if you keep going you get more training. No point in hitting every chance you can, all you learn is you can hit and your partner learns to be worried about you hitting him instead of concentrating on the techniques....

  • Five star. I study jeet kune do which I saw in another video you have posters of Bruce Lee on your wall. This is exactly like jeet kune do trapping. You're really good.

  • I know it would be hard to beat people like that but its more of a skill than a fighting technique you would actually put to use.

In all street fights martial arts is usually dropped, sometimes a kick can help bring a person down but all the fancy moves don't do anything.

It would depend on how the move was going to be used, but yes a trap for skill and a lead punch for proper fighting.

  • Wing Chun is designed to help you defend yourslf in a street fight situation. It's not meant to go against proffesional fighters. If you got into a fight at the pub then trapping (when used correctly) would give you the advantage at it would remove the striking hand long enough for you to counterattack.

  • Its called wing chun, not boxing

Mike Tyson is completely out of the equation

No need for the mother remarks

Use your brain and learn some respect.

  • in the last trappling (kuo sao)I think you shuld step a bit more otherwise he can punch you with his left hand.a part of that was fine!ta
